Mandatory Growth Eclipse 5

May 5, 2022

Continuing from previous post…

Salacia does have one Challenge that’s Incomplete, or Ragged. Part of her Energy is that Heart-Felt Values Clash with Programmed Judgmental Ethical Standards that we use to try to Override our True Self, causing us to have to Choose between Codependent Submission and Open or Passive-Aggressive Rebellion, because we don’t feel like we have Healthy Control over the situation.1 In “normal times” that would be an ongoing Conflict. But if we want to Live Truth and move toward Ascension, there’s no contest. Our Heart-Felt Values take Precedence over our Programming. Our Body tells us which is which – our Heart-Felt Values are connected directly to our Tear Ducts, while our Programming tightens and stiffens our Jaw.

Values do change, and to some extent Values can be Programmed, but the Tear-Duct test is pretty solid. It’s not our Values per se that Change,2 as much as our Interpretations of our Values. We reinterpreted our Values to make them fit into our Progamming, so we could subdue the constant Stress of Internal Conflict. But as we Grow Out of our Programming, we come to understand (often with Irritation) the Conflict-Diminishing Compromises that we’ve made, and we become less willing to Betray our own Heart. This is a major impetus for the Changes to our Associations with Individuals and Institutions that often occur with Growth. Grieve the Losses and Let them Go. Better Relationships and fewer Compromises are waiting for us.

How might we Resolve Salacia’s Stress between her True Self, her Programming, and her Role in the Universe? A Star Completes this triad and Balances her Energy. Bernadette Brady tells us that this Star “represents the human unconscious or the collective unconscious which, like a beast from the deep, can erupt with moments of great collective insight, or bring chaos and mayhem.” 3 When this Energy Arises, we definitely want to Act it Out, but Dramatically, Theatrically, not Emotionally. We want to Let this Energy Flow Through us, we don’t want to Ego-Identify with it, in either a Positive or Negative sense.

  • 1 The Salacia Discovery chart contains two Grand Crosses (including Salacia’s own) and one T-Square – dwarf planet Hylonome (Self-Sovereignty and Codependence) Conjunct asteroid Arachne (Grandmother Spider, or the Contextual Field ) T-Squares the Opposition between Venus (Values) and asteroid Damocles (Anxiety) Conjunct Neptune (Group Soul, or Relationship with Everything Larger than Ourself ).
  • 2 Progressed Venus will Change Signs and Directions and Angular Relationships many times during most Lifetimes. But those are Overlays on our original natal Venus, not Replacements.
  • 3 Brady’s Book of Fixed Stars, pp.106-108, on the Star Menkar, in the Constellation Cetus, the Whale.

As youalls know by now, we like to have a single, central keyword or phrase to represent each planet, one broad enough that we can use it as the synonym from which we search for a verb that fits the Context that we’re interpreting. So I’m tentatively thinking of adopting Struggle Between Heart and Programming as a possible key phrase for Salacia. A stolen Faux Fur would fit into that Universe, as it would represent our Programming pretty well, while on the other hand, to steal it from the Fox is pretty Heartless.

So how would that work in the 30 April 2022 New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse chart that partially governs the next few weeks? Well, to start with it fits pretty well with the Eclipse itself, as that’s Merged with both Overactive Ego, and Soul.4 So this Struggle is Inherent, as we’d Expect it to be in any major Portal to the Overwhere. In spite of this, the Eclipse itself is very well Balanced.5

What’s less Balanced in the Eclipse chart are two Incomplete Challenges. We’ll talk about the Challenge to Hope6 next time. The other one involves Salacia.7 Salacia is not only Exaggerated, it’s also Merged with our old Friend Chiron, which we know is about Converting Despair to Miracles, possibly by Rejecting the Temptation to Identify with Despair, and instead Empathize with it.8 Unfortunately that’s not the worst of it, because Manifestation (dwarf planet Makemake) is Contrasted with it.

In other words, this is the Invitation for us to “go Meta” (no relationship to the corporation Facemeta), which means to Witness things from a higher Perspective, as if we’re climbing a Hill to see where the River goes. The Meta Question is What Are We Creating? In other words, we Admit to ourself that we’ve been bogged down in Our Thoughts About Our Feelings about War, Oil, Climate, Old Men Groping around in our Wombs, Inflation, Recession, our Food Supply, the Bees, and the End Times in general, so we haven’t been Paying Attention to the Vibes we’re Projecting. These Vibes are being Added to the Global Vibe, and if we aren’t “part of the Light Solution,” we’re “part of the Light Problem.” Light can be either Photons or Levity, but it’s Critical that we Contribute Gratitude, Visualize Desirable Outcomes, Pray for Rapid Resolution of Conflict, or “Make Light” of the Whole Mess in one way or another.

Unfortunately, that’s still not the worst of it, because this ongoing Debate between our Commitment to Favor Soul over Ego, and What We’re Manifesting at Which Level, is Challenged by none other than Climate Change et al, where the et al includes War, Oil, Climate, Dirty Old Men Groping around in our Wombs, Inflation, Recession, our Food Supply, the Bees, and the End Times in general. We’re trapped in a big Feedback Loop, and it’s up to us to find the Exit. “Never do nothing because you can do too little” – I think it was Margaret Mead who said that.

And also at the apex of a Finger of the Goddess (Pay Attention! ) with Makemake (Manifestation) on one foot and Out of Bounds Pandora (Hope) on the other. Chariklo (Confidence/Doubt ) and Lachesis (Karma that hasn’t Expired yet ) and Arachne (the Matrix) would combine to mean something like the Edge between Confidence and Doubt about whether we’re Skilled enough to carry out our Role of Adding Light to the Earth’s Ascension. I’ve certainly been Feeling that! Expect Doubt to arise as it lifts into Consciousness on its way out the Door. Thank it for it’s Service at keeping you Humble, and Let it Go.

  • 8 For instance, by saying to ourself, “You Poor Sweetheart, you’re Feeling Despair, aren’t you.” and then Changing the Subject. When we do this, we short-circuit the Identification with Despair, and instead Identify with Compassion for ourself. Identifying with something means that it goes on the end of an “I am …” or “I have …” sentence, such as “I am Hopeless” or “I have Compassion for my Hopelessness.” Changing the Subject is important because otherwise our Mind will take us right back into Our Thoughts About Our Despair. If Changing the Subject is really hard, as it can be, we can say to ourself, You Poor Sweetheart, you’re having Difficulty Changing the Subject, aren’t you.” See https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/category/poor-sweetheart/.

January, Week 2, Early

January 8, 2017

We are all Perps as much as we are Victims.  We are always In Balance; what Feels Out of Balance is Balanced by the Unconscious.  As a Victim, at the very least we are Perpetrating a toxic Lack of Self-Love upon our Victim Self.  Moving into Balance involves bringing the Unconscious Ballast into Consciousness.  We do that with a Searching and Fearless Inventory of what Frightens us – most especially Death, since most Fears reduce to that – Owning our Fears, and Empathizing with ourselves over them: “You poor Sweetheart, you’re really Scared of Death, aren’t you.”

That does two things; it gets us Honest with ourself so we no longer have to Protect ourself against what we Deny and Fear.  And it shifts our “Assemblage Point,” or Identity, from being in Fear to being in Compassion.  Examine the syntax…

“I am Scared” literally means that Fear and I are Merged as One.

“I Feel Scared” means that I have Separated myself from my Fear far enough that I now Recognize it as an Emotion rather than a Reality.

“You poor Sweetheart, you’re Scared, aren’t you” means that I am now looking back at my (now formerly) Frightened self with Compassion.  You can shorten that last sentence to “I am … Compassion.”

This isn’t wordplay, this is quite Real.

Then we Tap ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzVd6Ww0as4 ).  “Even though I’m Frightened by the Idea of Death, I deeply and completely Love and Accept myself.”  It’s the same process – your Identity Assemblage Point is shifting from “I am Fear” to “I am Feeling” to I am Self-Love.”  But with Tapping, you’re also programming your Energy Body, as you tap on the Acupressure points at the end of each Meridian.

Note that we took a detour there.  Instead of “Even though I’m Frightened by Death, I deeply and completely Love and Accept myself” we said “… I’m Frightened by the Idea of Death …” – which is actually usually the case.  So we go from “I am Fear” to “I am Thinking” to “I am Feeling” to “I am Self-Love.”

The two processes – “You poor Sweetheart…” and Tapping complement one another perfectly.  Tapping is Energy Medicine to calm your Emotions.  Calming your Emotions quiets the Vicious Circle of Thoughts that reinforce your Unpleasant Emotions.  “You poor Sweetheart…” puts you – your Identity, your Psychic Core – in a position to Recover the Abandoned parts of yourself that are Scared.  They’re Scared for good reason – they’ve been Abandoned, Banished.  Except in Primary Cultures where one Learns Self-Reliance as part of one’s Childhood, being Abandoned means Death.

Saying “Cancel, Neutralize, Upgrade” to yourself is similar, but starts in the mental.  You’re declaring your Intention (PIAVAing in other words) that your negative thoughts be Canceled, that their Vibration (Energy, Emotion) be Neutralized, and that you be Upgraded (into Self-Love).  Every Prayer is answered, and every thought is a Prayer.  Becoming Conscious of your Self-Sabotaging thoughts is an important part of bringing the Self into Balance so your Perp and your Victim Cancel one another Out like two identical sine waves that are perfectly out of phase ( if you’re interested in the science, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superposition_principle#Wave_interference ).

Helplessness and Powerlessness are Real, and it’s easy to be Victims of Helplessness and Powerlessness.  What is required is that we Be Responsible To – not For – our Helplessness and Powerlessness.

It’s not our Fault – that’s Blame, which is Looking to the Past to assign Fault.  We need to move to Responsibility, which involves Looking at the Future with the Intention of Changing Outcomes.  To be Responsible For something sounds a whole lot like being To Blame for it.  To be Responsible To something means that  we give it our Attention and Obedience.  What does it mean to be Responsible To our Powerlessness?

We can start by switching from “I am Powerless” to “I Feel Powerless.”  From there we can go to “You poor Sweetheart, you’re really Feeling Powerless, aren’t you.”  We may never have the Power to Change the World (though that’s debatable), but we always have the Power to Change our Relationship to the World.  Changing ourself is the onliest Power we have.  So we’re never actually Powerless.

We may have to Break a lot of Habits and Tap Out a lot of Emotions to Create Significant Change, but we have the Power.  We just have to take the first step.  That’s how Habits are Changed, through Repetition, starting with the first step.

As adults, most of the time our Fear of Abandonment (which our Fear of Death usually reduces to) isn’t fully Present Time – though at least in the US, our modern neo-Dickensian Culture is in fact Abandoning us.  Most of our Fear of Abandonment is a regression to the Real Abandonment we Suffered as Children, when we really didn’t have the Skills to Survive on our own, so we had to depend upon our Abusers, even though we loathed our Abuse.

But guess what.  Even though we didn’t have the Power to Change our Abuse or our Abusers, we did have the Power to Change our Relationship to our Abuse, and we did just that.  We numbed out, we went into Denial, we Learned how to put on many of the Masks that we’ve been Taking Off lately.  Denial is a healthy psychological process.  It’s what we do with Overwhelm.  If we don’t have the Skill to deal with it otherwise, we Deny it.  It’s how we Survive, losing a battle but staying Alive to potentially win the war later.

Denial is Power, part of our Skillset.  So is bringing Ballast out of the Unconscious so we can Change our Relationship to it.  We Denied our Abandonment as Children, we Recover our Abandonment as adults, by bringing it into Consciousness where we can Recognize the chain of thoughts and Emotions that feed it, Own them, “You poor Sweetheart…” them, Cancel-Neutralize-Upgrade them, and Tap them Out.  Not always Easy, but we have to start somewhere.  It requires only Persistence, and our Abandonment is the best Motivation there is for Persistence.

We didn’t mention earlier that before it goes Stationary in a few hours (2am PST 8 January), Mercury sticks a toe back into Sagittarius.  There in the penultimate Degree of Sagittarius, it Conjoins Quaoar (Survival), Pholus (Full Responsibility), and the Galactic Center (Communique from Headquarters) – that’s where it is as I write this.

Another thing I forgot to mention, as by “coincidence” I didn’t notice it till now, is that Vesta (Unconscious Beliefs) is still Conjunct Varuna (the Life Force), which has dipped its toe back into Cancer.  So the Mercury Station is Quincunx (Curiosity) to Vesta-Varuna – in some Paradoxical and not-so-Paradoxical ways, our Epiphanies (Mercury Stationary) about Survival and Responsibility (Quaoar-Pholus) are closely Related to Letting Go of our Unconscious Beliefs that are Anti-Life -Beliefs that aren’t Self-Loving.

Remember too that Vesta was a corner of that Grand Quintile (Learning Opportunity) that we’re enjoying today.  So the GQ is…

  • Vesta-Varuna (Rooting out Anti-Life Unconscious Beliefs)
  • Hopi (Respect for All Things – including ourself)
  • Juno-Saturn-Ixion-Nemesis (Recovery of our Abandoned Genius and the Ego Deaths and Expansion of Consciousness that are necessary to get there)
  • Pallas-Venus-OR10-Nessus-South Node (Irruption of Current- and Past-Life Memories of Abuse and the Setting of Boundaries against same)
  • Moon (Authenticity)

We’re Learning about how all of these things are Related.  How long does this Grand Quincunx stay with us?  Well, the Moon is the obvious “weak link,” as moving about half a Degree per hour, it will only stay in the GQ for about half a day (using our usual three Degrees of Sensitivity, plus another three Degrees to traverse the Angle to the Ixion and Nessus Stellia).

But even without the Moon in the GQ, we have four of the five corners of the Pentagram, which makes the Strongest point of the almost-GQ the Vacancy that the Moon temporarily occupies today.

That position is the Midpoint of Taurus, one of the four Power Points of the Zodiac, aka the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.  Prior to our current Precession of the Equinoxes, these were the locations of the four Royal Stars of Persia.  In mid-Taurus Aldebaran, greatest Star of all, heralded the Persian Spring, and signified Success as long as strict Integrity and Honor was followed – our Authenticity corner in the GQ.

Today, post-Precession, the Star Menkar – A Victim of the Unconscious – occupies the Midpoint of Taurus.  I’m not making this up; check Solar Fire or Bernadette Brady!  What a “coincidence,” that [Liberation from] our Victimhood by the Perp in the Unconscious occupies this Location.  The Unconscious is non-Dual; in the Unconscious Victimhood and Liberation from Victimhood are the same Energy, differing only by whether heads or tails is showing.  As Conscious Beings we have the Power to Choose, so I Choose Liberation.

The other “weak link” in the GQ is asteroid Hopi.  As an asteroid, it would normally vacate its position in about two weeks.  But Hopi turns Retrograde on 24 January, so Hopi remains within Sensitivity from December through February at the very least.  There are very slow-moving “planets” in all of the other corners – Varuna, Ixion, OR10, and Menkar, which moves only at the speed of Precession.

The next Big Adventure for this Graduate Course in Liberation from our Archetypes is 12 January, when the Moon crosses Varuna and Vesta.

stars A Star Cluster

All of this post is intended for folks with some knowledge of or interest in astrology, so we recommend that general readers ignore it.

Well, this is interesting.  Our Planet is misaligned slightly, such that every year at midnight on the Spring Equinox, the Stars are in slightly different positions than they were the year before.  It’s a predictable movement, called the “Precession of the Equinoxes.”  Because it takes about 70 years for the Stars to shift one Degree (with is 1/360th of the Circle), we don’t much notice this day to day.  However, if we’re looking at phenomena that span several Centuries, we might indeed notice it.

We speak of Midnight on the Spring Equinox, because that’s when we can see the Stars – assuming there are no clouds.  To be technical about it, we need to look at the moment of the Spring Equinox, which could occur at any time of day.  Most of the jiggling is caused by Leap Years, but there are other jiggles as well.

You can do astrology hundreds of different ways, but there are two main schools of Western astrology, “Tropical” astrology and “Sidereal” astrology.  In Tropical astrology, one Degree of Aries occurs when the Sun crosses the Equator heading north, on its way to the Tropic of Cancer.  So it’s not “Tropical” as in hot weather with downpours every afternoon, but “Tropical” as in the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, two lines of Latitude that are 23 degrees and 27 minutes north and south of the Equator, respectively.  Tropical astrology watches the planets as they move relative to the Earth.

Sidereal astrology on the other hand, watches the planets as they move relative to the Sun.  For instance, Mars never actually goes backwards, that would be silly.  But when we watch Mars from our Perspective on Earth, it appears to go backwards every couple of years, because as we go around the Sun we pass it up.  The classic example is passing another car on the freeway.  If you’re just watching the other car, it looks like it starts to go backwards as we pass it.  If we assume the the Earth goes around the Sun, then it seems silly to look at things relative to the Earth.  However, Earth is where we live, so looking at things relative to the Earth is the same as looking at things relative to us

In Sidereal astrology, because of Earth’s misalignment, the Stars and Constellations are constantly shifting their position relative to the Spring Equinox.  Sidereal astrology assumes that we should define the Signs based on the Constellations they’re named after.  So we can map out the Sign Cancer, for instance, by when certain planets pass certain Stars.  Tropical astrology is based instead on Linear Time.  In Tropical astrology the Sign Cancer is defined as the first 30 days after the Sun gets to 27:23 of north Latitude – the Tropic of Cancer.  If in Tropical astrology we just renamed the Sign Cancer to be called “July” instead, it would make a lot more sense relative to the weather (though of course it would be Confusing relative to the wall calendar) and we wouldn’t confuse it with the Constellation Cancer and the Sidereal Sign.

Terminology aside, it’s always Both/And.  Both Tropical and Sidereal astrology contribute important information to our understanding, and their contributions are different.  The more Perspectives we can use, the wider our understanding, so Tropical and Sidereal astrology should Celebrate one another rather than Competing with one another.

Sabian Symbols are readings for each Degree.  They were channeled in 1925 by Elsie Wheeler, a California psychic.  Here’s some history…

http://sabian.org/sabian_symbols.php

I use Tropical astrology and always have, so I can’t speak for Sidereal astrology (in fact, even the above my be misconceptions on my part!), but Tropical astrology (and the Astrobuss blog) relies on the Sabian Symbols a fair amount.  In Sidereal astrology, one Degree refers to 1/360th of the Sky – roughly the width of a finger held at arm’s length.  In Tropical astrology, one Degree refers to one Day of the Year.  When Marc Jones hired Elsie to do the readings, he was a Tropical astrologer, and I don’t think he instructed Elsie about the difference between a Degree as a portion of the Sky and a Degree as a portion of the Year.

So when Marc asked Elsie what she saw relative to Taurus 25, we don’t know whether she was viewing the Sky and Stars, or a Day in mid-May.  It’s been 90 years since Elsie Channeled the Sabian Symbols, and since the Stars move 1.3 Degrees relative to the Spring Equinox in that time, it’s possible that some or all of the Symbols – whenever Elsie was thinking about the Sky rather than the Year – should be shifted by 1.3 Degrees.  The Stars move forward relative to the Equinoxes, and the Equinoxes move backward relative to the Stars.  This is not a new question…

http://www.timsmith7.com/faqs/astrology/faq_astro004.php

So when Elsie Channeled 24 Taurus as a Warrior with human scalps in his belt and 25 Taurus as A vast public park, the Star Capulus, signifying Aggression, was in 24 Taurus.  Capulus is now in 25 Taurus.  So if Elsie was looking at Capulus when she was reading 24 Taurus, we can make a good case that we should be looking to 24 Taurus and a Warrior for our interpretation of the Sedna-Mars Initiation.  But if she was looking at the Day in mid-May, we should choose 25 Taurus and Park.  To be safe, we’d just choose Both/And.  All Elsie had to go on was the phrase “24 Taurus.”  It’s easier to read someone’s mind than to read the Ethers, and Marc may have known about Capulus, but he had shuffled the cards, and he could not see which Degree was being read.

What about other Stars and Degrees.  If we take several Strong Stars and compare them to their Degrees in 1925…

  • Algol (Female Passion) in 26 Taurus
  • Zosma (Victimization) in 11 Virgo
  • Menkar (Arising into Consciousness) in 14 Taurus
  • Facies (Violence) in 7 Capricorn

We get some indications that Elsie was looking at the Sky, but it’s not consistent.

So, Capulus aside, there’s no strong evidence either way, but there is a strong indication that the Stars have significant impact apart from the Sabian Symbols.  So rather than try to Precess the Sabian Symbols, I’d recommend just adding major Stars to your astrological toolkit, as a separate process.
