The Uranus-Karma Nodal Axis is Squared (Annoyed – it’s a Grand Cross, in Earth Signs) by the Opposition (Debate) between asteroid Arachne (Grandmother Spider Who Weaves the Web of Life) in 17 Aquarius (Maintaining Tradition) and Mercury (Awareness) in 15 Leo (Individuation). 15 Leo (Mercury) is adjacent to (Entangled with) the Fixed Star Accubens (Resurrection).
• The Uranus-North Node Merger chart makes a Grand Unx – 12 planets more or less equally spaced around the Zodiac, or three Grand Crosses and four Grand Trines. An Unx is one twelfth of something; the Twelfth Harmonic is about Pattern-Breaking. A Grand Unx is Self-Resolving, meaning we need to sit back and Observe, and not try to Intervene, because the astroevents are occurring at a Higher Vibration than our Intervention would be, and we’d just Screw it Up.
• Mars (Action) in 15 Taurus (Iterative Surrender) Conjoins Uranus and North Node, causing many astrologers to worry about Violence and Disruption. Yes, the Lower Vibration of Mars can be Violent; it you Encounter that, Raise your Vibration (try Kegels for starters). And yes, Uranus is Disruptive, but it only Disrupts that which the Soul no long has use for, so it’s Good Riddance. Thank it for its Service while it was Useful, and wish it Goddess-Speed. 15 Taurus is home to the Fixed Star Menkar (Eruption), which may increase the odds of Violent Cleansings.
• ² Till 3 August asteroid Nemesis (Guilt ) is Stationary (Exaggerated ) in 1 Aries (Single-Minded, Hard-Working, Opinionated ). The Exaggeration comes with two Big Challenges (T-Squares), first to Nemesis itself from Very Heavy Challengers – OOB Ixion (Forbidden Genius Amplified ), OOB Chaos (Exaggerated Superpowers), OOB Asbolus (Exemplary Intuition), Hybris (Pride, Hubris), and second, to our Transmutational Rebirth (Haumea Conjunct Ka epaoka awela) from Not-Insignificant quarters – Pluto (Compulsion), Cyllarus (Death), Kassandra (Disbelief ). But both are Doubly Self-Resolving, so No Worries if we Stay Out of Their Way. We’ll Flesh these Out in a later post.

Hylonome New Moon II

Our Chief Asteroid Officer has been busy with research, and uncovered another ‘roid Opposite Sappho and Squaring Vesta and Juno, completing the Grand Cross.  This creates an even greater Opportunity to Master our Limiting Beliefs.  Unfortunately (for our current Egos), the Opposing ‘roid is Hybris, another spelling for Hubris.  

I’ve been thinking that, in addition to our personal Adventures, June’s Eris-Uranus Initiation is likely to blow up our collective Denial about things like Global Warming, Functioning Economies, “News” Media, Corporate Ownership of Government (commonly referred to as “Globalization”), and the like.  

We could see Superstorms, Financial Collapse, Media Payola, and Political Scandals in June; that could certainly potentiate Ego Death and Mask Removal for many.  The Panama Papers…

could be the start; it took a while for the Pentagon Papers to get rolling.  The Pentagon Papers took place at the Uranus-Pluto Conjunction, while the Snowdon Saga and the Panama Papers grace the Waxing Uranus-Pluto Square.

While we’ve emphasized Yintegrity as a primary characteristic of the Soul Self symbolized by Uranus, one could as well emphasize other elements of Individualism, such as Libertarianism.  We used to say that the Titans of Industry got rich through Exploitations that hadn’t been declared illegal yet.  Today it’s more modern to say that the 1% has gotten rich through Exploitations that have become legal again since 1980.  

The Libertarian call for the abolition of all “regulation” is nothing more than a call for the legalization of Exploitation without limit.  There are folks saying that Paul Ryan, who worships Libertarian Mythology, might be the beneficiary of a brokered Convention and final Republican candidate for the US Presidency.

The year 1980 is an interesting milestone.  It’s clearly the year – as President Reagan and The Baroness Thatcher ascended to Power – that the 1% began regaining political power from the middle class, and the year when the middle class began the decline from which it has yet to recover, if it does.  And 1980 was the first year of the transition from the Industrial Age to the Digital Age.  1980-2000 was a preview of the Digital Age, and 2000-2020 is the debriefing for the Industrial Age.  Each Age lasts two centuries, delineated by the Cycles of Jupiter and Saturn.  

It has always been clear to me that tools – mechanical or electronic – were replacing Huperson labor, and that whomever owned the tools would eventually thrive, while all others would become servants or fade back into poverty.  Or both.  It took me many years though, to understand that what the Patriarchy labels as “Primitive” cultures hold secrets that are a far cry from “poverty,” even if their existence is devoid of mod cons.

Our CAO also points out that asteroids Pandora and Tyche are also Conjunct Sappho.  Like Sappho, Pandora and Tyche are also only a few arcminutes from their recent Direct Stations.  Pandora, as the first Woman that the Gods Created, was the Greek equivalent of Lilith, and like Lilith, Pandora was blamed for all manner of ill that befell the Good Olde Boys.  

Greek Mythology recall is the propaganda that justified the Patriarchy’s victory over the Matriarchal Cultures that preceded it, just as Milty Friedman’s Economic Mythology is the propaganda that justifies the 1%’s victory over the relatively greater equality that preceded it.  If you haven’t noticed, Uncle Milty’s Mythology is worshipped by Presidential candidate Ted Cruz.

Tyche is an intriguing Energy.  She represented Mother Nature’s “arbitrary” destructive and creative whims, and was used in the early (Greek and Roman) Patriarchy to justify the unpredictability of Life under corrupt leadership, and the good fortune of the beneficiaries of the corruption – very reminiscent of the Economic situation today, as Naomi Klein (Shock Doctrine) and John Perkins (New Confessions of an Economic Hit Man) vividly describe.  

In the early Patriarchy, as in the Matriarchy, “Offerings” to the Gods and Goddesses were required to keep them on your side.  We regard human sacrifice as culturally obsolete, but that’s exactly what War is all about.  The modern “New Age” tradition of Gratitude is a form of Offering, as is Surrender of Control after PIAVAs.

Let’s finish up August, as I’m eager to write about some fairly remarkable events coming up in September.

Our Old Egos are due for a comeuppance at, around, and/or after the 29 August Full Moon. 

Most of us still have one foot in the Old Industrial-Era World of Exploitation, and a portion of our Identity likely remains wrapped up in that.  Whether the Old Order gives us Validity through our Achievements or through Socialization with our workmates, gives us Security through our income, gives us a sense of Value through our “contributions to society,” gives us Juice because of the Competition, or however it props up our Self-Worth, we could be due for a shock. 

If this occurs, Acknowledge and Witness any Fear or Anger or Grief that arises, and be Loving and Gentle with it.  Review your understanding of Ego Death (https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/category/identity/ego-death/ ), so you can respond positively to the signs after you acknowledge their Veracity.

Your other foot is already in the New post-Apocalypse World of Collaboration and Cooperation.  You may be growing some of your own food, establishing neighborhood tool-sharing, kickstarting or funding new ventures, playing with 3-D printers and milling machines at your local Makerspace, downsizing your use of resources, promoting Equality, or any number of other Activities oriented toward a Sustainable and Regenerative World.  Once you’ve Embraced your Emotions about whatever nicked your Old-World Identity, redouble your Efforts toward your New-World Identity.  If there’s a Leap of Faith involved, go for it.

While the Jupiter-Neptune Opposition isn’t Exact until 16 September, the Full Moon sits across it.  On the same September day Makemake (Creative Manifestation, and it’s no accident that Makemake shares a name with the Maker Movement) Initiates the North Node (our Mission).  This Opposition is a blooming of the Jupiter-Neptune Cycle that began in late May 2009, at 27 Aquarius.  Long-time readers may recognize that as having occurred within a few days of the Chiron-Jupiter Initiation in the same Degree, and within a few months of the Neptune-Chiron Initiation, also in the same Degree, “Fresh Violets in an ancient pottery bowl.”  This is the “New Paradigm” we’ve written much about, and which we regard as the major correlate with the Wall Street Crash of 2007-8.  If you aren’t a long-time reader, look up “Chiron-Neptune” in the Categories list at right (https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/category/cycles/chiron-neptune/).

Meanwhile, the Full Moon very closely T-Squares the asteroid Hybris, a “misspelling” of hubris.

Jupiter is now past its Waning Square to Saturn, which means we’re dropping into the Void with regard to Social and Economic Activities, so we’re overdue for a review of the Jupiter-Saturn Cycles.  Saturn-Jupiter Initiations occur in the same Element (Fire, Earth, Air, Water) for two Centuries, then they switch, with a stutter between Elements.  The Industrial Revolution and it’s Wage-Slave consequences spanned the last two Centuries of Earth-Sign Initiations.  Then, almost exactly coincident with the introduction of the mass-compatible (IBM-Microsoft) personal computer, the 1980 Initiation occurred in an Air Sign.  The final Earth-Sign Initiation that followed, in 2000, coincided almost to the day with the “Dot-Com Crash,” initiating twenty years where we’re reviewing the Industrial Revolution to see what elements of it we want to keep as we move into the Digital Age.

The next Saturn-Jupiter Initiation in 2020 will be again in an Air-Sign, as will the following seven Initiations, till our first Water-Sign Initiation in 2160.  While we think of the Age of Aquarius as being about Harmony and Understanding, Sympathy and Trust abounding, Aquarius is also an Air Sign, and Air Signs are about mindstuff and Duality.  So while the advances in Scienterrific Knowledge and Technological Gadgetry will be phenomenal, the Digital-Age potential to Create Sustainability and Regeneration will depend on a lot more than thinking.  Aquarians will need to do a lot more than sitting in the pub arguing about which Political system makes them happiest.  Hence the importance of what we’ve been calling the New Paradigm and its implications for greater Equality.

Meanwhile, we’re in the last quarter of the last Earth-Sign Jupiter-Saturn Cycle, and the last quarter of a Cycle is about “Descending” into chaos (Disorder, not the dwarf planet).  Interesting that many folks are focused on Ascension while our Social and Economic Order is Descending.  We need to look for a moment through Rudolph Steiner’s eyes – while Ascension is about Matter merging into Spirit, Descension is about Spirit merging into Matter, one being no less Sacred than the other.

What normally occurs during the last quarter of a Cycle, is that the proponents of the Old Order redouble their Efforts to propagandize everyone into believing that the Status Quo is alive, well, and will Live on forever, while scrambling to keep their cheeks covered.  In the interim, everyone else is focused on their struggle to keep it together.  If we take a hint from the dwarf planet Chaos, though, and see the Trend for what it is – deconstruction of the Old to make Space for the unlimited potential of the New – and we avoid trying to pin down the New before the next Cycle starts, as that would simply perpetuate the Old – then we can Cooperate in destructuring our Old Patterns and making Empty Space for New Patterns to evolve into.

Two days after the Full Moon – a sufficiently short time that these two events will be closely intertwined – we enter a new province in our Relationship Dramas.  Since this applies more than anything to our Inner Female and Inner Male, it’s impact will be wide-ranging.  If you aren’t familiar with John Gray’s amazing work, this would be an excellent time to introduce yourself to it…

Next Portal: 1.9 (Or, 1.2-1.9)

Once again, as has happened so many times recently, we have a potentially very disruptive Configuration wrapped in Grace.  We can only assume that this means that, as with the Uranian Main Effect we’re dealing with, what’s being Disrupted is what’s no longer in Alignment with our best interests.

• The chart is drawn for the moment when Eris is Stationary and turning Direct
• Eris is the foot of a Kite focused on Haumea, with Jupiter and Ixion-Pholus on the other corners of the Grand Trine.
• Eris is also the focus of a Mjolnir with a Square from Moon-Lilith to Pallas as the base.
• Sedna is the focus of a Finger of Yod with a Sextile from Haumea to Ixion-Pholus as the base.

Busy busy.  Eris has been and will be within one degree of her Station from mid-August of last year to mid-May of this year, but if your Sensitivity is like mine and we can extrapolate from fellow TNO Pluto, a week is a reasonable guess for the span when what’s available and distinguishable to Consciousness is lit up.  This means that

The Revelation of Denial had a significant role in our Emotional adventures of last weekend, and even more so in the aftermath we’re dealing with this week.  That’s a good target for the Curiosity we’ve been feeling, or just for a routine PIAVA:

What is it that we’ve been Denying, which could help us understand more about our Regression out of the Present Moment?

By the way, “TNO,” short for Trans-Neptunian Object, is the common astronomical name for the Plutoids – Pluto and the other dwarf planets that hang out in Pluto’s ‘hood.  These include Eris, Makemake (which itself is still less than an arcminute from the position of its December 30 Station), Chaos, Ixion, Haumea (which will be one arcminute from the position of its January 20 Station), Sedna, Quaoar, and others that we haven’t introduced yet.  Sedna though is more of a WTNO, Waaay-Trans-Neptunian Object, as her orbit spans 11,000 years, versus 250 years for Pluto.

That the dumb-luck Grace embedded in the Grand Trine focuses into a Rebirth, if…

We own up to the Denial (the Opposition to Eris) and if we squarely face Sedna (at the focus of the Yod).

But let’s finish the Kite first.  The two other corners are Jupiter (which Amplifies everything else) and Ixion-Pholus.  Mythologically, Ixion was the sociopath of the Greek Pantheon.  Pholus was a Centaur whose claim to fame was inappropriate Blame.

So, if a Grand Trine is about dumb-luck Grace, how can sociopathic inappropriate Blame be involved?  Are we stumbling into a situation where we have a magic shield that deflects inappropriate Blame?  By inappropriately Blaming someone else, do we “accidentally” avoid a situation where we would have been Blamed?  Good questions.

The downside of a Grand Trine, though, is Arrogance.  If we attribute our dumb-luck Grace to our own Skill, rather than to a Gift from the Universe, then we can easily get into a situation where our own Hubris puts us into Denial.  So the Held Emotion that our Karma may be revealing to us here, may be Smugness or Inflation. 

Where in our lives do we exhibit a degree of sociopathic behavior – meaning we’re capable of easily ignoring or not noticing the difference between Right and Wrong, just because we have the Power to get away with it?  Where in our Lives do we ignore the difference between Success and Compassion?  Do we experience Abundance as having enough to Share, or as padding for our Ego?

Which means we have to check to see what the asteroid Hybris (Hubris) is up to…  Shitodear, it’s Conjunct Pallas, on one foot of the Eris Mjolnir!  So let’s look at the Mjolnir next.

Mjolnirs are about Epiphany.  So there’s great potential here for whatever we’re Denying to be revealed to us in a flash, literally (the Mjolnir represents Lightning).  The Mjolnir provides Insight into the Challenge represented by the Square in its base – which would be Moon-Lilith Square Hybris-Pallas.  Moon-Lilith is about Manifesting Yindependence or Self-Autonomy.  Hybris-Pallas would be about Boundaries that Protect our Ego but which don’t otherwise serve us.  The Ego is responsible for keeping us Alive, but it can easily get stuck on behaviors which would have kept us Alive in very different circumstances than those in the Present Moment.

That’s a big clue!

The Universe may be scheduling us for a blinding flash of Insight about the places where our Ego inhibits our Self-Autonomy, without serving a corresponding positive function.  Intention, yes.  Function, no.  So we PIAVA…

Great Spirit, please show me any Patterns that my Ego is using with the Intention of Protecting me, but which don’t in fact Protect me, they instead prevent me from having Healthy Control over my own Life?

The involvement of Lilith provides another clue; we can also PIAVA…

Great Spirit, where in my Life am I Living from the Head rather than from the Heart?

If we can get solid answers to questions of this nature, the chart promises Epiphanies big enough to reboot our entire Life.

So finally, what about the Sedna Yod – we should get additional clues there.  The base is a Sextile between Haumea (Rebirth), and Ixion-Pholus (inappropriate blame for sociopathic behavior).  While Ixion may seem evil, there will always be places in our Life where the end seems to justify the means.  Those are the places where apparent sociopathy has a positive function.  A sociopath exhibits a Pattern of sociopathic behavior, not an isolated episode of sociopathy.  For instance, in most cultures it’s considered appropriate to kill someone who’s trying to kill you, even though killing is normally taboo.  War is a prime example, for folks who Believe in Fear, Separation, and not WeBeAllOne.  And then there’s killing animals in order to eat; the end supposedly justifies the means.

But now let’s look at the Sedna myth.  In it, the father is driven by Fear for his own Life, to drown his own daughter.  Not an acceptable choice in most cultures, and even recent news stories from Inuit people show quite the opposite, where folks don’t hesitate at all to risk their own Life to save one of their kin.  I think a valid “moral” (recognizing that indigenous myths aren’t designed to have “morals” but instead designed to spur their audience to self-rumination) is that Fear isn’t the most productive Motivation for Action.  So we could say that the Yod suggests that we…

Be on the lookout for places where we’re driven by Fear rather than Love, especially where we’re driven to behavior which would otherwise betray our own Values.
