“Dark Days” 5

April 22, 2019

Here’s another Teaching about how to Lighten Up.  It will be online till about 9am PDT 24 April.  It’s Dr. Sue Morter speaking about Energy Flows in the Body, how the Unconscious interacts with the Body, how to Ground and Stabilize the Body and bring it back into Balance (including Kegels), and many other very Integrative Perspectives…

Kegels 5

February 7, 2019

I see that more folks than usual are up late looking for answers.  At the risk of sounding oversimple, it probably wouldn’t hurt to review the equations in Einstein’s famous Theory of Relativity…

  • Fear + Courage = Perspective
  • Fear + Breathing = Excitement
  • Fear + Tapping = Grounding
  • Fear + Kegels = Power
  • Anxiety + Poor-Sweethearting = Detachment

I often write late at night, and I used to live in a basement apartment.  While writing I would sometimes feel the hairs on the back of my neck rising, as if someone was just outside my curtained windows looking for an opening.  One night I gathered up my courage and flung open the door – to find a Glorious Full Moon staring at me from the Darkness!

Another time I lived in a creaky old house, and I was alone in the house, in my bedroom with the door shut, when a series of creaks and groans sounded for all the world like someone sneaking up to my door.  Again I flung open the door – and found myself staring at a wardrobe mirror leaning against the wall in the hall, just outside my door.  Now that was scary!  “We have found the Enemy…” as Pogo used to say.

Fear + Breathing is an old equation, which I’ve heard from many reliable sources, and which works well.  Dr. Kim has dozens of excellent variations at…

Many of the videos that are less than two minutes long are pitches for her longer sessions, but most of the longer ones share Powerful Mind-Body techniques, like this one…

Dr. Kim includes Tapping in many of these videos.  One of the first things we do in serious Fear is Leave Our Body.  Tapping (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzVd6Ww0as4) can bring us back in.  In some sense, Leaving our Body is an effective strategy – if someone is about to kill us, we’re already gone, so there isn’t much else they can do to hurt us.  But it may help create a lousy next Lifetime, if we re-enter as a Terrified, Implacable Child.  We have more tools at our disposal when we stay in our Body, or get back In.

I’ve mentioned my Kegels story before, so humor me while I repeat it.  I Learned about Fear and Kegels in a workshop with Jack Schwarz (http://holisticu.org/).  Quite innocently, I went to see the movie Aliens after the workshop.  If you haven’t seen it, the Fear level goes off the charts after a few minutes, and never comes back down till a few minutes before the end of the movie.  Having just Learned it, I was doing Kegels like mad all through the movie – two hours of solid Kegeling!

Jack taught that Kegels Slow Down Time.  If Fear is coming at you at 2mph, it’s a lot easier to handle than at 60mph.  Between the movie theater and where I lived was a mile-long bridge, and after the movie it took me absolutely Forever to cross that bridge!  In that mile I looked at my speedometer maybe ten times, and it kept saying 40mph, but the bridge wouldn’t go away.  It was like being in the Twilight Zone.  I’ve never heard anyone mention Kegels in connection with sports, but I now understand how someone can hit an 80mph curveball.  Sports often refers to it as being “In the Zone.”

And once we’ve determined that our Fear or Agitation is not Present-Moment, or that we aren’t in Imminent Danger, we can say to ourself, “You Poor Sweetheart, you’re Feeling Anxious, aren’t you.”  Or “You Poor Sweetheart, you’re Worried about that deadline, aren’t you.”  As Quilless testified in her Comment to Kegels 4, she “experienced notable Shifts” when she Poor-Sweethearted herself.  It’s a remarkably simple and Powerful technique.

We don’t Leave our Body when we Poor-Sweetheart, but we certainly Leave our Ego, or rather, switch Horses to a different Ego.  It’s basically a Shift into Self-Love.  It’s particularly effective with Anxiety and Worry, because those are markers for being Out Of Self-Love and Questioning our own Competence.  Every Experience is an Opportunity to Learn something Life-Changing.  What if we started every morning with “I Wonder What Wonderful Life-Changing Things I’ll Learn Today.”

One thing I Learned today is that I can afford to be even more Assertive about shunting my Shoulds to the side to make more room for my Wannas.  I tried to work on a big project that’s due next week, and got nowhere, wasting several unproductive hours in the process.  Even when I Noticed how much more Anxiety was involved in having to do everything myself, and PIAVAed help from the Great Spirit and Her Designees, I got nowhere!  So I got the message, Gave It Over, and dove Joyfully into my Wannas.

Considering that Sedna (Fear/Power) is Stationary (Strong) within an eighth of a Degree of the Fixed Star Algol (the Eye of Medusa), we need to review the status of Gender Balance in the World this week.  I think this sums it up fairly well…

…with Speaker Pelosi giving the Antichrist a Celebratory Stinkeye for soundbiting compromise while offering none.  Not exactly a Perseus Moment for the Alpha.

Sedna and Fear

November 12, 2018

Sedna is the first Sednoid.  The Discovery of Sedna required a whole new class of minor planets.  Plutoids are dwarf planets that are similar to Pluto in scale, distance, and orbit.  Sedna is an order of magnitude further away than Pluto, having an orbit 45 times as long as Pluto’s.  They’re so distant that we can count on one hand the number of Sednoids discovered so far.

We’ve been interpreting Sedna as Fear because Action Committed under the Influence of Terror is the predominant Energy in the Sedna myth.  The dawn of television brought us Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, belaboring how Nature was “red in tooth and claw.”  If you remember black and white TV you probably remember Marlin Perkins…

Young and impressionable, we didn’t make the connection until decades later between Insurance and Fear.  Other voices have since demonstrated how Nature is more accurately characterized as remarkably Collaborative and Synergistic.  Mutual of Omaha hasn’t been the only agent that Feeds on our Fear.  Politicians and color TV have since elevated Fear to a high art.  It’s a central pillar of the Healing Crisis that is the creeping Fascism that’s been trying to spread like a dark shadow across our Home Planet.

A look at Sedna’s Discovery chart makes it obvious that its Emergence into Huper Consciousness, like Wild Kingdom ultimately was, is about Becoming Aware of our Unconscious Fear.  Here’s the chart…

Sedna sits on the North Node, meaning that Sedna’s Emergence into our Consciousness Serves our Mission directly.

Sedna is one member of a Grand Sextile, the most favorable of all astrological Configurations, which avers that Grace will follow all of our Self-Initiated Actions.  We gain Leverage by Noticing when we’re Feeling Fear so we can Act Consciously rather than Habitually.  We Convert Fear to Power by doing Kegels, because Kegels slow down Time, giving us Time to Consider our Actions.  Remembering to Breathe is always useful too.

The other five corners of the Grand Sextile are…

  • Moira … Awareness Allows Choice to Replace Fate; Moira is Stationary as we speak
  • Nessus-Veritas-Aletheia … Revelation of the Truth about Abuse and Privilege; Nessus is Exactly Stationary a week from now, so probably already Present in our Energy Field
  • Sun-South Node … Illumination of our Self-Sabotaging Habits
  • Jupiter-Lachesis-Makemake … Changing Timelines Consciously to Expand our Ability to Create What We Want
  • The Moon – Authenticity

The Grand Sextile means that these six Principles all reinforce one another positively.

The other major element is a Diamond Star or Self-Resolving Challenge, focused on Pluto-Sappho, which implies Transformation of the Nature of our Self-Love.  It’s a lot Easier to Love ourself when we can be Authentic, Call Out Abuse when we see it, Support ourself Unconditionally, Choose to Create What We Really Want, and Know that we’re in step with our Lifetime Mission.  What can possibly go wrong?

Well, we can Allow Unconscious Fear to creep into our Attitudes and Motivate our Actions without our Becoming Aware of it.  We would be shocked if we knew how much of our Lives are Motivated by Fear – everything that’s preceded by Judgment, for instance.  Actually, feeling like “something isn’t right” is a good Indicator here in the Age of Sedna, that we’re on the Cusp of Noticing a shard of Unconscious Fear that we haven’t yet Detected and Identified as Self-Sabotaging.

I was Feeling that way last week, and I didn’t know why.  Now I understand – I have a dozen deadlines in the last half of November, and until yesterday I wasn’t sure I could meet them all.  Yesterday I didn’t finish one of the bigger ones, but I finished enough that I’m now confident that finishing it will be just a matter of walking through several well-known steps, which I expect to have ample time for.  So I was Feeling Anxiety and not recognizing it.  Anxiety is Fear in a cheap suit.

I did, today, Tap Out Anxiety, before (not instead of!) reaching for a Walnut Shortbread Cookie (it was delicious), but that was only a prelude to my Realizing, just now, that Anxiety was the source of my Feeling a Disturbance in the Force last week.  So many things have been Climaxing lately, that it won’t Surprise me at all to see Anxiety finally becoming a Trigger for Consciousness instead of a Trigger for Soul-Devouring Thoughts.

Sedna Stands Still during the first week of the coming February.  If we take every Opportunity to be Alert to any upwelling of Anxiety between now and then, we may be able to put a checkmark next to it on our Karmic To-Do List!  That would be a Life-Changer.
