Survival or Bust VII Eclipse

When the center of the Moon crosses in front of the center of the Sun, but the Moon is distant enough from Earth in its ovalish Orbit that the Moon doesn’t fully cover the face of the Sun, then rather than a Total Eclipse it’s called an Annular Eclipse.  That’s what happens at the 25 December 2019 (9am PST) New Moon.  It would look something like this…

Eclipses are, Paradoxically, about Illumination, because the best way to make us Aware of something that we Take For Granted, is to Remove it.  Like Birdsong, for instance.  During a Total Eclipse, all of our Feathered Brothers and Sisters are eerily Silent.  It’s like someone throws a switch and turns off the background Music the moment Totality hits.  Then turns it back on again as soon as Daylight resumes.  It Feels as Strange as the Midday Semi-Darkness.

The Eclipse falls on the Cusp of Capricorn.  What else have we been reading about lately that’s falling on that Cusp?  It’s within our usual three-Degree Sensitivity of Jupiter/Expansion, Quaoar/Survival Instincts, and Pholus/Full Respond-Ability.  If we stretch our Sensitivity a bit, it’s also Merged with the South Node/Held Emotions and Ixion/Forbidden Genius.  Busy busy busy.  These are the planets we’ve been equating to the Climate Crisis, not to mention the Confusion about whether the Political Economy of the World is about to Surge or Collapse.

It’s at a corner of two Configurations that look like Take-Out Boxes from a Chinese restaurant (or, as we usually package them, a Square Fez with a Chinstrap, that is, a Zodical Loop consisting of Square-Sextile-Square-Sextile-Sextile).  The Configuration features three Challenges (Squares) and four Pay Attention! Flags (Fingers of God).  The Four planets/Energies we’re Asked to Pay Attention to are…

• The Climate and Existential Crisis (Eclipse-Jupiter-Quaoar-Pholus).
• Manifestation (dwarf planet Makemake).
• Vitality (dwarf planet Varuna).
• Intrusive Memories (dwarf planet OR10).

Our three Challenges are…

• Are we Skillful Enough with Abundance to Survive the Climate Crisis and it’s accompanying Disruptions (Eclipse et al Square Makemake)?  Our recommendation for maximizing this is to Strive for as much Neutrality as you can muster, by Seeking and Embracing your Held Emotions (South Node).  Neutrality doesn’t mean Absence of Passion or Action.  It just means that our Actions and Non-Actions are Well Conceived and Effective, and we’re Not Attached to Outcomes.  Our best portal into our hidden Held Emotions may be through our Judgments, which often mask What We’d Rather Die than Feel.  Our Judgments are different from our Preferences, though the latter is often used to try to hide the former.

• Are we Conscious Enough about the Descent of our Soul into Flesh, to be Loving with the Changes in our Body and Vitality that are needed to Make Room for it (Varuna Square Uranus)?  We may be Challenged by what appears to be Illness, which mainstream Medicine may or may not have Diagnoses for.  We’re probably better off if it doesn’t, because then we won’t also have to Struggle against the Soul-Numbing Drugs and Body-Crippling Surgeries they want to foist on us.  A possible best-of-both-worlds strategy?  Go with Acupuncture.

• How do we Interpret all those weird Voices and seemingly-Random Memories, Dreams, and Hallucinations we’re having (asteroid Klotho/New Beginnings Square OR10)?  Those Movements you keep seeing out of the corner of your Eye?  Faeries?  Visitors from the Other Side?  Just your Imagination?  Are they Friendly, or are you Afraid to find out?  Those “Random” Flashes from Childhood?  Do you Welcome them?  What do you Feel when they arise?  They may be other doorways to Held Emotions you can Choose to Let Go Of.  The people we’re running into that we haven’t seen in years?  The unexpected events that Mirror Ancient events?  Do we Embrace them as more Opportunities?

OOB Mercury

Formal and informal astrologers Learn early on about planets turning Retrograde.  We emphasize the Stations of the planets.  Those are the times when they’re slowed to a crawl, just before they stop to turn around and (from our Perspective here on Earth) start to back up, or turn around and go forward again.  We do that because we’ve observed that the impact upon us of a planet is strongest when it’s Stationary.  And it’s one of the best times to Learn what that planet’s Energy feels like.

But most of us are much less familiar with the influence of planets that are going Out of Bounds, or “OOB.”  That means they’re overhead at a position more than a fourth of the way from the Equator to either Pole (0.26 to be exact, or 23:27 Degrees of Declination, which for practical purposes is the same as Latitude; 23:27 Degrees is the maximum that the Sun moves north or south of the Equator).  Most of the planets rotate in a single plane around the Sun, so most of them don’t stray much from being overhead at the Equator.  But some do, and when they do, it changes their Dynamic, usually making their Influence Stronger.

Mercury (Mind, Communication, Short-Distance Travel) will be giving us an Opportunity to Experience this for the next several weeks.  Mercury goes Out of Bounds on 22 December 2019 (4pm PST), and stays OOB till 12 January (5:30 am PST).  Pay Attention to how this impacts your Young Life…

Do your Thoughts make you more Anxious than usual?  Less Anxious?  Are your Thoughts more or less Penetrating or Discriminating or Judgmental or Decisive or Prominent?  How does any of that make you Feel?  Is the News more Dramatic than usual?  Are you Reacting to it more Intensely than usual, or Feeling Detached?

What about your Communications, both those you Receive and those you Give?  Are they more or less Anxious?  Insightful?  Concise?  Forgiving?  Muddled?  Are you Communicating more or less than you usually do?  When you Communicate, is your Tone of Voice and Body Language Congruent with the Emotions you’re Feeling, and their Degree of Intensity?  More or less so than would normally be the case?  Are you being more Passionate or more Detached than usual with your Communications?

And how are you on the Road – driving, walking, bicycling, skating, sledding, skiing, running, riding the bus or train, or however you Travel on short trips?  More or less Attentive?  Distracted?  Rushed?  Relaxed?  How is traffic?  Faster or Slower?  More Crowded than usual?  More Confrontational or more Forgiving?  More or fewer missed Connections, flat tires, sprains, Collisions, tickets, detours, or other Difficulties?  Does Travel feel more or less Dangerous than usual?  How patient or impatient are you with any Travel glitches?

Mercury is never far from the Sun, so during this time it spans 21 Sagittarius to 23 Capricorn.  Those are very busy Degrees.  Mercury will be crossing many planets, and it we can Learn a lot about the planet and about ourself while Mercury’s Laser Light shines on them…

Survival or Bust II

A review of where we’re at wouldn’t hurt.  Jupiter/Expansion is entering Capricorn/Just Fix It, and in the process crossing…

• Ixion/Forbidden Genius,
• Pholus/Ability to Respond,
• Quaoar/Survival Instincts

– another Wake-Up Call for the Climate Crisis that threatens the Planet’s relative stasis, not to mention likely triggering our individual and community Scarcity issues.  Oh, and questions about the Survival of Napoleonic government.

All that’s complexified by the simultaneous occurrence of three Initiations of new asteroid-dwarf planet Cycles.  Those Cycles, with all the Jupiter Action in their Initiation charts, will be helping to Implement the Survival-Expansion Energies.  Yes, we do Expect our Survival Energies to Expand – either to try to compensate for loss of old Opportunities, or to take advantage of new ones.  These new Cycles are…

• Dwarf planet Makemake/Manifestation Initiating asteroid Sappho/Self-Love, starting a new three-year Cycle.  This will bring us Opportunities to Shift our Survival Strategies from “Have To” to “Want To.”  Adding Passion like this will make our Survival Efforts much more Fun and much more Productive – Play rather than Work.

• Dwarf planet OR10/Intrusive Memories Initiating asteroid Eurydike/Trust, a 4½-year Cycle about our Relationship with our Personal History.  Where before our Memories of our past may have triggered Regret (missed Opportunities) or Anger (Abuse), now we’ll be Able to Choose to regard them instead as Opportunities to Heal.  If nothing else, we can start by Poor-Sweethearting ourself when Intrusive Memories arise.

• Dwarf planet Nessus/Abuse and Privilege Initiating asteroid Eurydike/Trust, a 4½-year Cycle about Finding Appropriate Boundaries for Abuse and Finding Gratitude and Abundance (Having Enough to Share) for Privilege, to Replace Anger and Terror around Abuse, and Denial and Greed around Privilege.

The peak of the US Stock Market just prior to the 2007-09 Derivatives Crash, in October 2007, occurred within a few days of the previous Quaoar-Jupiter Initiation, 11 October 2007 in 16 Sagittarius.  Three Twentieth-Century Quaoar-Jupiter Initiations (out of eight) also occurred near major market turns, but these turns were all bottoms rather than tops, and the turns were several months (out of twelve years) removed from the Initiations.  These market bottoms were in October 1920, July 1932 (the low for the Century), and May 1982.

Notice that while dwarf planet Eris/Revelation is not strictly within three Degrees of the Full Moon, it is within Sensitivity to asteroid Moira and the T-Square to Saturn-Venus-Pluto-Chariklo (hence drawn in with lighter red lines).  We’ll talk more about this soon, because the Saturn-Eris and Pluto-Eris Squares are Exact within a few days of the Uranus Station and Saturn-Pluto events of January 2020.

And just to keep us from Forgetting these Energies between now and January, the 21 December Capricorn Solstice and the 25 December New Moon Solar Eclipse occur in the same Degree Zone, the Eclipse bang on Jupiter-Pholus-Quaoar.  The Antichrist’s Denial of Climate Change may be what ultimately brings him down.
