A reader Wonders…

“I just realized I am not well versed in the ‘vacant spot’ and how to read it; for example, 19 Virgo (near my Natal Jup) – Is the vacant point an important piece to incorporate Natal planet positions to understand creating the pattern within the transits?  Or is the vacant spot more an indication of what is to be understood from the pattern configuration?  If you have any references from your posts that I could study further?  Or maybe a quick explanation will do the trick.”

Yes, when you’re at https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/, there’s a long column of keywords (“categories”) to the right of the text.  If you’re looking at a specific post, it doesn’t show up.  I try to add a keyword to a post only when the post explains the term, but I’m not totally consistent about categorizing all posts.  I notice that there are two cubbyholes for “Vacancy,” one under “Planets etc.” and one under “Astrologuese.”  They should be combined, as there’s no difference in how they’re used – but it would take me about an hour to combine them, so I won’t bother.

But let’s go ahead with a quick explanation, as we never know what we’re going to find from the keyword list – I “improve” my astrology constantly, so I’ll just tell you how I use Vacancies now…

Configurations in a chart are combinations of planetary angles that, usually, fill the Zodiac (usually that means they add to 360 Degrees).  For instance, the Grand Sextille comprises six planets each two Signs or 60 Degrees apart, 6 x 60 = 360.  The Grand Sextile (and the Grand Anything) is considered to be much more Powerful than six Sextiles randomly placed around a chart or less well organized.

I consider it an Almost-Grand Sextile when five of the six Positions are occupied, because if we supply the missing Energy in the sixth Position, then we Complete the Grand Sextile and Enjoy the Benefits  (kinda like Bingo or the Lotteries, of a Full Hand in Poker).  It’s similar with other Almost-Grand Configurations – Quintile, Septile, etc. Occasionally, when it seems appropriate, I’ll consider a Configuration with two Vacancies to be Almost-Grand.  Like the four adjoining Septiles we had at the 25 April 2020 Pluto Station, where just for the heck of it we looked to see if there were Stars at the missing three Positions (still in my queue, Bob!).

Notice that an Almost-Grand Cross is a T-Square – the primary Benefit of any Grand Configuration is that it’s Balanced, including the Grand Cross.  It combines four T-Squares, but it’s In Balance, so it’s not considered as Troublesome as the T-Square.  The primary Challenge of the T-Square then is to Create Balance from it.  We don’t usually consider the Vacancy of a T-Square, but it wouldn’t hurt to do so.

We were looking at a 19-Virgo Vacancy in the Almost-Grand Sextile in the 7 May Full Moon chart.  I don’t have a way to check to see if a Vacancy may be occupied by asteroids (or even dwarf planets) that I don’t usually use – I wish I did, as it would help a lot.  If anyone has a way to do this, let me know.  So if none of the “planets” (meaning planets, asteroids, dwarfs, Lights, Nodes, etc) I use are there, I look for Stars nearby.  That’s an iffy proposition, as there aren’t that many Stars that are cataloged for use by astrologers.  However, if there’s a Biggie there, like Arcturus or Regulus or Sirius, that’s Huge.

Whether there’s a Star near the Vacancy or not, if you have a natal planet there, you automatically Complete the Configuration, without even trying.  So for you it’s a full Grand Sextile, because you Embody the Energies of your natal chart.  If you have natal planets near any of the other planets in the Configuration, that’s worth noting as well, because that natal planet will be Lit Up more than usual.  As Huminals (Huper Animals), we’re like Viruses, with those little Spikes all over, corresponding to the planets in our natal chart, each of which is an Antenna for broadcasting and picking up (and maybe getting Stuck on) Energies from outside of ourself.

So that Almost-Grand Sextile in the Full Moon chart comprised…

• Klotho – Beginning New Timelines
• Sun-Mercury – Awareness of our Essence
• Neptune – Our Relationship to Energies Larger than Our Own
• Hylonome-Veritas – Insights into our Codependence
• Moon – our Instincts

If we add a Jupiter to that in the Vacancy, which would apply only to you, we Expand everything.  A Grand Sextile itself is about fabulous Grace or Good Luck in combining the Energies in each Sextile, which in turn is about Projects where we take the First Step and the Universe takes over after that.  So for the next several weeks (Full Moon charts impact the following 2-4 weeks) we might be finding excellent progress around Expanding New Projects that involve Trusting our own Instincts more, and Listening More to (and/or PIAVAing the Assistance of) our Guides, instead of Playing to or Soliciting the Opinions of Others.

Now, for most of the rest of us, without a planet in or near 19 Virgo, we have to Consciously add the Energy of the Vacancy in order to take advantage of the Enhanced Grace of the Grand Sextile.  For a guess about what that might mean we’d read the Sabian Symbol for that Degree, 19 Virgo: “A Swimming Race.”  To me that means Efficiency at processing our Emotions.  So for the rest of us for the next several weeks we might find great progress with New Projects that involve Trusting our own Instincts more, Listening More to our Guides and Soliciting their Assistance more, and Trusting our own Emotions (as Opposed to our Thoughts About them of course), instead of Trying to Please Others.

For all of us, the Programming we received from our Mothers is likely to be particularly Lit Up, since the Saturn Station occurs on Mother’s Day.  And we can’t ignore the fact that the Moon goes Out of Bounds on Mothers Day, so it’s all going to be a lot more Emotional than it would be usually – though telling Mom to Butt Out of our Choices will probably always be a Chancy Conversation.  But its a Grand Sextile, suggesting very Positive Outcomes from any Project that we Initiate, so it may be the best time ever to Begin our Self-Liberation.

Or, you can take an Easier path, especially if your Mum is Difficult (or Deceased), and use your Mirrors instead.  Either way our Relationship with our Dear Mother is Changing, so we want to Make the Best of the Opportunity in whatever way Feels best to us – that is, by Trusting our Emotions.  If our Emotions are Conflicted, as they’re likely to be, what an Opportunity to Stay Present with our Confusion and Avoid trying to Fix it.

If your Mother is the type to Demand Commitment, what an Opportunity to Stand your Ground (Veritas-Hylonome) – “Mom, I hear that you’re Asking for a firm Commitment, but I’m not Ready to do that, so we’ll have to leave the whole Issue Dangling till I am Ready, and I don’t know when that will be.”  Then, while the odds of Success are Great (Grand Sextile), you get to Practice Not Trying to Fix or Manipulate your Mother’s Emotions!

You might think this all sounds Daunting, but it’s a Critical and Natural part of Claiming Your Power, and as we’ve said, there may never be a Better Time.  Trying to stuff your Mother’s Heavy Emotions into your Carrion Bag for the Ascension Flight won’t work.  They’ll bump you off the Flight for overweight.

We’ve a few astroevents between now and then, but it would probably be a good idea to go right into looking at the 7 February Station (Strong) of Sedna (Fear/Power).  First though, let’s go ahead and finish the Juno-Sedna interpretation we started in the previous post, Kegels 1.  The two charts are similar anyway; same Patterns, different planets.  In the intervening week, the Moon will move about three Signs, the inner planets about 7 Degrees, Mars about 4 Degrees, and the asteroids about 2 – enough to swap some of the Players in the Patterns.

We said earlier, “There is also much Grace in the [Juno-Sedna] chart (Grand Trines and Kites, Diamond Stars).”

♥ A Grand Trine means Dumb-Luck Blessings.  Grand Trines are so full of Freebies that if we’re born with one, we soon end up Believing that other people are Stupid because they aren’t harvesting the same Bounty that we harvest so Effortlessly.  While Ego Astrology Celebrates the Grand Trine as Great Grace, I interpret it as Arrogance – until we get enough Experience to Heal it by grokking that everyone has their own Skillset, usually Different from ours, and that this Difference Powers Teamwork and everything larger than what one Person can do working Alone.

Sports are used as a vehicle in schools for Teaching Teamwork.  The lack of it in the Antichrist’s house is a marker of his Unhealed Grand Trine.

If you Struggle to Manifest what you see Others Creating Easily, it may be because they have a natal Grand Trine and you don’t.  But that kind of Manifestation can be Learned.  And what we Learn is not lost when we Die.  The Aptitudes you were Born with you worked hard to Earn in Earlier Lives.  If you Lavish yourself Enjoying the Benefits of a Grand Trine and never Learn that it’s not your Innately Superior Ego that brought you Wealth, you won’t take Positive Karmic Habits with you into your next Adventure.

Karma as Inertia is easy to mistake for Karma as Retribution.  No one is being Punished for Living Large – they just never developed the Habits to Sustain it because they didn’t need to.  If you have to Learn how to Manifest, then you get to take those Habits with you.  Grand Trines can apply to specific areas of Life – just for a start there are Water (Emotion) Grand Trines and Earth (Matter) Grand Trines.

The Antichrist, a self-proclaimed Genius who turned 73 today, gets his Arrogance partly from an Unhealed Grand Trine in Air (Mentality).  Mentality is Duality – Me Smart You Dumb.  Once one understands that Opposites are actually Equal, there’s no Limit to one’s Prevarication, especially if, like the Antichrist, you have two Strong planets Stationary and Conjoined in Libra (Relationship to Other).  That’s where he gets his agile but forked tongue.  He understands Duality in Me-Other; he’s too Arrogant to apply it to his own Behavior except in Win-Lose.

He’s performing a Service, showing us how Destructive Competition really is, so we can be more Excited about shifting to Collaboration.  The Antichrist’s relative Popularity, while debatable and apparently declining, illustrates the prevalence of Arrogance and Unwillingness to Examine one’s Karmic Patterns in the US.  But the very decline in this Popularity tells us that People are Noticing and Learning.  Many will Learn that their Arrogance is just Ego, not Superiority, and begin looking for Alternatives.

♥ The Grand Trine in the Juno-Sedna chart – the big blue chart-spanning triangle (see previous post) – is also an Air Grand Trine.  The Mythological Trickster Archetype is an Air Pattern.  So we can Expect intellectual Arrogance or Facility here, from ourself and from others.  If we’ve always wanted to Learn Ease with the intellectual Perspective, this is a good time to Study it.  If you’re patting yourself on the back for being so smart, know it’s not You, it’s just a Moment in the Infinity of the Universe that you happen to be Experiencing.

The Libra (Debate, Charm) side of this Grand Trine is the Stellium (group of three or more planets) of Haumea (Rebirth), Pallas (Boundaries), and Aletheia (Truth).  While the Antichrist may or may not see this Rebirth of Boundaries between Truth and Lies, many others have been, and will yet.  We have to remember that this chart also “Challenges us to see All Apparent Setbacks as the Opportunities that they really are,”  as flags that indicate we’ve stepped off the Path of the Soul, that we should check our Heart’s Compass.

The Gemini (Flexibility, Dissolution) corner is occupied by dwarf planet Chaos – Unlimited Potential.  Truth is in the Heart, not the mind (another thing that the Antichrist is Teaching us by such a sterling Example of how not to do it), and everyone’s Heart is Different. So there are no Lies in Politics, only Different Perspectives and Different camps.  The problem isn’t Lies, it’s the Fear that someone you Disagree with will kill you over it.  Since you’re dealing with Hupers, this is quite Possible, and it’s a valid Fear.

But this is Juno-Sedna – bringing Fear into Consciousness.  So Tap It Out.  Even if its True, you need to be Neutral about it so you can have a cool head when Strategizing your Defenses.

The Aquarius (Cultural Norms) corner contains asteroids Vesta (Beliefs) and Klotho (Beginnings), indicating that many will have their Beliefs revised, quite possibly without even knowing it’s happening.  A Grand Trine is so Effortless we may not even Notice that it’s going on.  It may not be that the Antichrist can’t admit Error – he may not Notice his own Errors!  If you hear his former Supporters lying that “they knew it all along,” let it be.  Be Grateful that they’ve come to their senses, we don’t care how.

So we might characterize the entire Grand Trine as Easing the Dissolution of old Cultural Boundaries.  Crises are also Opportunities, so we can use this Social Disruption to Step Out into Who We Really Are more than we usually would.  With everyone else occupied by the Chaos in their own Lives, no one will be watching us…

That dude who keeps standing up in front of the camera is only following instructions from your mother.

♥ A Kite is a Grand Trine with a growth on one side – a fourth planet Midway between two of the three in the Grand Trine.  It means that the fourth planet may become the Focus of the Benevolent Energy in the Grand Trine.  This Grand Trine makes two Kites.

♥ In the first one, the fourth “planet” is a Stellium of Ixion (our Forbidden Genius), Eurydike (Trust), and Venus (our Values).  Ixion represents our Ability to break the Cultural Mold.  Our Willingness to do so depends on our Temerity – and perhaps our Arrogance.  But the indication is that this Grand Trine may bend our Values in such a way that we Trust our own Genius more.

♥ The second Kite is formed by Uranus – your Soul.  As old Cultural Boundaries Dissolve, it’s likely to become Easier to shift our Identity closer to our Soul.

♥ Two Kites on one Grand Trine means that a third Kite would Create a Grand Sextile – Six planets more or less evenly spaced around the Loop.  So the “Vacancy” in that sixth corner makes it a Place of Power, as by Supplying the Energy that would complete the larger Configuration, we can Enjoy its Fruits.  In the case of a Grand Sextile, the Fruits are even better than a Grand Trine, because we get to participate fully, and our Actions are likely to Succeed because so many Energies are Collaborating with each other.

The Grand Sextile is an Excellent Model for 5D Manifestation – Creating by Cooperating with the Energies that constantly swirl around us.  The Vacancy is 28 Leo, “Many little Birds on a limb of a Big Tree: a wide and perhaps Confusing openness to a multiplicity of Inspiring Potentialities.”  But we know that Confusion is the first sign of Growth.  The Fixed Star Alphard also sits at 28 Leo.  It’s often associated with Victims or Perps of Violence.  Not a good Omen when Sedna is Lighting Up the Fixed Star Algol (Catastrophe).

Fortunately, we know how to turn that around.  First we get Conscious of our Fear about that.  Then we Discriminate between the Fear that we Feel in our Bodies, and our thoughts about that Fear, and Cancel, Neutralize, Upgrade the thoughts so we can Focus on the Fear Sensation in our Body.  Once we’ve Embraced and Softened that, if we haven’t turned it into Love already, we can Tap It Out or Poor-Sweetheart it (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzVd6Ww0as4 and https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/category/poor-sweetheart/) or Kegel the Hell out of it.

Then we Choose What We Want to Experience instead, PIAVA that (https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/category/manifestation/piava-review/), Change the Subject, and Trust that All Prayers Are Answered while we wait Patiently.  Not that we’ll always get exactly what we PIAVAed.  We may not be ready for that.  But what we always will get is an Illustration of the Impediments that stand between us and What We Want.  Getting those up into Consciousness where we can work with them is three fourths of the Challenge of Learning to Manifest as if we had a natal Grand Trine and Empathy besides!

Wants, Mission, Compromise 6

The Neptune Station (18 June 4:30 pm PDT) chart is less complicated – and less straightforward – than the others…

The first thing we have to notice is the Grand Trine and Kites (Fabulous Blessings – blue lines), because all three of our Big Three charts this extended weekend have included this feature, even though they’re in different Degrees…

• Saturday’s Makemake Station (Manifestation) chart featured two Grand Trines, both Kites, one in Earth and one in Fire!
  • The Kite on the Fire Grand Trine focused on Makemake itself, lending Spiritual Cred to what we’re Manifesting
  • The Kite on the Earth Grand Trine focused on OR10 in Pisces, reinforcing the notion that we have to Clear our Held Emotions in order to find enough Authenticity to Manifest What We Really Want

• Sunday’s Eris-Juno Initiation (the Coming into Consciousness of What Was Previously Denied) held a Fire Grand Trine and Double Kite (ie, Almost-Grand-Sextile), with the foci of the Kites on Rebirth Haumea and Unlimited Potential Chaos

• Today’s Neptune Station chart’s Grand Trine is in Water, again with a Double Kite, focused on Self-Confidence Chariklo and a Conjunction which we’ll discuss more, that should Shift our approach to Ego Death

That omits Air, or Mentality, which on some levels is appropriate, as one of Western Culture’s most serious Self-Sabotage is overfocus on Mentality.  On the other hand, three of the Kites focus on planets in Air Signs.

And veteran readers will already be wondering where the Vacancy is, in today’s Neptune-Station chart Almost-Grand-Sextile. 

A Sextile occurs when two planets are two Signs apart, and it signifies Grace, but “the Native” (that’s what astrologers call the person whose natal chart we’re discussing – in this case since we’re speaking of what’s going on the Sky just now, all of us are “the Native”) has to take the first step to get the Grace flowing.  Co-Creativity, in other words.

A Grand Sextile consists of six planets equally spaced around the Zodiacal Loop, all two Signs apart; it symbolizes Great Symbiotic Grace – but again, us Natives have to Initiate the Projects that we want to Fly.  An Almost-Grand-Sextile is five of these six, leaving a “Vacancy” in the Grand-Sextile. 

As with any Vacancy, it’s up to us to supply the Missing Energy to complete the Configuration and enable the Energy to Flow.  For an Almost-Grand-Sextile, we have two assignments – supply the Initiatory Energy for each of the five Sextiles, and also supply the Missing Energy that will complete the Grand Sextile and remove impediments to Flow.

The Vacancy here is 17 Virgo, “A Volcanic Eruption” – Intense!  Not how we’re used to thinking about Neptune, but then Tsunamis are Neptunian too.  In other words, the Neptune chart is advising that we Don’t Hold Anything Back, even if (or especially if) we have to Express it more violently than we would prefer.

That’s a pretty strong hint that we should talk about the “Shift in our approach to Ego Death” that we mentioned earlier.  This is a Conjunction between asteroids Nemesis (Ego Death) and Lachesis (Conscious Manipulation of Timelines) – Conscious Manipulation of our Timelines around Ego Death in other words. We may be accelerating some, delaying others, and/or Changing the ground rules of the whole ball game.

This Opposes another Conjunction, between Jupiter (Expansion) and asteroid Hopi (Respect for All Things), suggesting that we may be removing Judgment, including Self-Judgment, from our processing of Ego Death.  That would compliment the Conjunction between Sappho (Self-Love) and Uranus (Soul) in the Makemake-Station chart.  That chart is still in effect, as we have to remember to see the weekend’s three events as one, since they’re so close in Linear Time.

So, if an Explosion Destroys Your Ego, Go with it, to see where it leads.  You’ll be Delighted, though wear your shoes and take a broom, as there may be some broken glass to cross first.

Lots left to look at, including the Nemesis-Lachesis Cycle, the Hopi-Jupiter Cycle, and the Sappho-Uranus Cycle, to see what they’re about and what sort of Changes they have in store for us.  We’ll save all that for later today.

Blessing Full Moon Eclipse

Two planets are “Sextile” to one another when they’re within a few Degrees of being two Signs apart, or one sixth of the way ’round the Zodiac from one another.  The Angle from one planet to another determines how their Energies are Relating to one another.  One sixth of the way ’round the Loop is a 60-Degree Angle, and it’s a very positive Angle.  

The Sixth Harmonic (ie, one sixth of the Circle) is about Partnership, Collaboration with Others, and particularly with a Special Other.  Well-functioning Partnership makes Life a lot Easier – with two cats in the yard and all.

The Trine (Third Harmonic, 120 Degrees or four Signs apart, a third of the Loop) represents “Dumb-Luck” Grace – things flow so Effortlessly that we don’t even know that there could be Resistance.  Personalizing a Trine – thinking the Ease is a result of our own special heroism – creates insufferable Arrogance.  

The Sextile is more subtle.  It only Opens the door to Grace after we’ve taken the “first step.”  If we don’t take the first step, nothing happens.  Kind of the way Partnership works – one of us has to take the first step.  There’s generally no Arrogance involved, more like Surprise and Gratitude instead.

We use the term “Grand” when any set of Angles fills the Circle – three Trines back-to-back is called a “Grand Trine,” six Sextiles end-to-end a “Grand Sextile.”  Generally, the “Grand” Configurations are Blessings.  Even the Grand Cross, which is four Squares (each 90 Degrees, one fourth of the Loop), is a Benefic, even though it’s made up of four Angles which by themselves would be Challenging.  It’s Benefic because, like the other “Grands,” it’s Balanced.

Many folks consider the Grand Sextile – a six-pointed Star – to be the greatest Configuration of all.  A Grand Sextile contains two Grand Trines, so there’s plenty of Dumb-Luck Grace.  But there’s also all that Collaboration flowing from six Sextiles all working together, once we set it all in motion.

The long-lived Ixion Golden Rectangle we’ve been touting for months is made of two Trines and two Sextiles, so while it doesn’t include a Grand Trine, it does fill the Circle and is relatively Balanced, so it’s also fairly “Grand,” it’s a very beneficial Configuration.  Well, the 10 February (4:30 pm PST) Full Moon Eclipse, at 23 Leo-Aquarius, turns that Golden Rectangle into a Grand Sextile.  Break out the Champagne!  It’s short-lived, since it’s the fast-moving Moon that forms the Configuration, but we get a solid half-day out of it, from around 11am till 11pm PST on 10 February.

Grand Sextiles occur in either the Dynamic Signs or the Magnetic Signs, this one in the Dynamics.  So Action is implied as our strategy most likely to be successful.  That means Brave and Brash.  The six points on the Star represent the six Energies that will Dance hand in hand on 10 February…

• Trusting Intuition, Trusting Self (Moon in Leo)
• Big Rebirth – take the Risk to meet new People and Be a new Person (Jupiter-Haumea in Libra)
• Forbidden Creativity – take the Risk to loose the chains and really Be Your Scariest Self (Saturn-Ixion in Sagittarius)
• Party it Up and Celebrate Community (Sun in Aquarius)
• Be Unabashedly Yourself, no holding back or thinking about Consequences (Uranus-Eris in Aries)
• Whenever you Feel a Should coming on, Cancel-Neutralize-Upgrade it before it can get past the Sh-h- (Atropos-Chaos in Gemini)

Any Full Moon Eclipse is Stronger than the average Full Moon.  This one is a “Penumbral” Eclipse, which means you have to look very closely to notice the slight darkening of one side of the Moon.  While a Full Moon does its work by Illuminating what was hidden, an Eclipse does its work by making absent what was there all along but not differentiated.  If all you see is a Forest, then they log half the Trees, suddenly you see, through their absence, that there were Trees there too, not just a Forest.

So a Penumbral Eclipse does double duty.  The Full Moon is almost as bright as usual, illuminating what we need to see to make our next jump in Growth of Consciousness.  It’s also Eclipsed – we may have to squint to notice, but the Eclipse Energy is there – so what’s been hiding in plain sight suddenly becomes obvious by its absence – and that is our next jump in Consciousness.  

We don’t Grow in Consciousness through Discovery; we Grow through Differentiation, through Noticing what we hadn’t Noticed before.  That’s what Meditation is all about.  You might Notice that you’ve been Shoulding on yourself without Realizing it till now, for instance.  Or you may find that your Limits are Illuminated in such a way that you Realize that they’re your Limiting Beliefs, not the “Laws of Nature” you thought they were.

The dwarf planet Haumea – Rebirth – is sitting between us and Arcturus, focusing Arcturian Energy to our Planet.

Haumea is one corner of the Ixion Golden Rectangle and Sedna Yin Gate that we’ve been discussing, as well as one corner of the Eurydike Grand Sextile, all of which are ongoing.  Haumea is also only a few Degrees south of Arcturus in Declination.

We refer to the Golden Rectangle as the “Ixion Golden Rectangle” because the Recovery of our Abandoned Genius (Ixion) is for most of us the most Challenging element in the Golden Rectangle.  It’s four corners are… 

• Ixion-Pholus: Being Fully Responsible to our Abandoned Genius (or, as Marianne Williamson so poetically expresses it, our Brilliance, Gorgeousness, Talent, and Fabulosity)
• Dwarf planet Chaos: Unlimited Potential
• Haumea: Rebirth

We refer to the Yin Gate as the “Sedna Yin Gate” because Conscious and Loving Response to Terror (Sedna) is the most Challenging element in the Yin Gate.  A Yin Gate above all asks us to recognize that Contradiction exists only in the mind; in Reality there is Paradox – Coexistence on levels that the mind does not understand, but not Contradiction.  In addition to the Golden Rectangle, the Yin Gate‘s Spine is comprised of…

• Lilith: Self-Sovereignty
• Sedna: Conscious and Loving Response to Fear

Lilith is particularly associated with Female Self-Sovereignty, highlighting the Challenges presented by Misogynist politics.  As important, Lilith is associated with Sovereignty for the Anima or Inner Female of the second gender.

Sedna is also the focus of a Quintile Yod from Jupiter and Mercury, meaning that it is Very Important that we Learn how to Consciously Expand into being Lovingly Aware of what most Frightens us.  Start by Breathing.

We refer to the Grand Sextile as the “Eurydike Grand Sextile” because when we use established astrological planets we only get five of the six corners.  The sixth corner would be the Vacancy, which becomes the Strongest corner of the Grand Sextile, and signifies the Energy which we must provide Consciously in order to trigger the Ease and Grace implied by a Grand Sextile.

The esoteric asteroid Eurydike (Trust) fills the Grand Sextile Vacancy, so it is Trust that will Liberate Grace for us here.  In addition to the Golden Rectangle and Eurydike, the sixth corner of the Grand Sextile is Pallas (Boundaries).

And finally, Sedna is also one corner of the Grand Cross, with Lilith, Eurydike, and Pallas.  A Grand Cross shows the necessity to Multitask in order to attend to all of the Energy we’re encountering, in this case the necessity to split our Attention between

• Responding Consciously to Fear,
• Asserting our Self-Sovereignty,
• Setting Effective Boundaries, and
• Trusting our Heart’s Truth

without diminishing our Attention to any of the four.

• A Square (Mastery through Challenge) from Vesta to Sappho-Klotho (Designing a new Ego wrapped around Self-Love) is Quincunx (Curiosity) to OR10-Nessus, which is in turn Trine (Grace) to Sappho-Klotho: We invoke our own Passion to lend Power to our Rebirth into Self-Love by Embracing Perpetual Curiosity – AND AVOIDING CONCLUSIONS – about the Relationship between Traumatic Experience/Memory and Limiting Beliefs.  Recognize the Connection between Passion-Emotion-Power and Suzanne’s comments in the Arcturian message above:

We don’t have any results around Quitaly yet, but the USArmy Corps of Engineers a few moments ago agreed to reroute the Dakota Access Pipeline.  Even if that is eventually overturned, it is a welcome delay from the potential start of another Civil War.

Kundalini Rising II

The Elves of Lily Hill Farm don’t mince words (Penny Kelly, p.191)…

“Humans are at the top of nature’s heap.  Ye humans need everything that’s in the heap under ye to support yer form of life.  But nothing in the heap needs that human at the top.  Ye humans are the most expendable of all – yet ye all think yer indispensable!  

“Picture the security of the human race right now as one lonely person riding a unicycle across a tightrope that is tied between two poles anchored in soup bowls floating on an ocean,  Yer position is tenuous – at best.”

But there be Hope (Genia Haddon, Body Metaphors, pp.108-9)…

“Neither participational consciousness [the original Matriarchy] nor differentiating objectivity [the Patriarchy] characterizes this third model.  It [the Age of the Yang Feminine – the Age of Lilith] encourages a ‘both-and’ way of looking at things.  Although uncommon in the Patriarchal Age, this sort of consciousness is sometimes experiened in mystical states or with the aid of psychedelic drugs.

“In the phallic system, movement is goal oriented and linear, like a arrow.  Progress is pictured as ascent achieved through competition and mastery.  In the exertive [Yang Feminine] system, movement is to be rooted in context and emerging out of it, like a spiral or helix … [in which] interleaved ascending and descending coils suggest the contexting of ‘opposites’ within a larger whole that retains their distinctions, yet transcends their opposition [the ‘Coin’].”

“In an Age reflecting the nature of the exertive womb [Yang Feminine] rather than the phallus, property ownership and exploitation would simply cease to be meaningful concepts, based as they are on patriarchal principles of separating out and power over.  It is beyond my capacity to picture concretely such a world based on exertive-world principles of egalitarian networks, contextual transformation, and holistic transcendence.  

“To appreciate how alien exertive-womb principles still are, try to imagine what sort of pattern would replace ‘ownership’ of animal pets by ‘masters’ in an age in which the dominant motif is no longer hierarchical. … These are the watchwords: context, egalitarian, transformation, multiple wholes, self-transcendence, non-uniform multiplicity, both-and simultaneity without loss of distinctions, network.”

Here’s an example of Both/And/And-that-too, from Robert Moss’s Dreaming True pp290-1…

“The philosopher of Science Thomas Kuhn observed that we get a paradigm shift when the accumulation of ‘anomalies’ forces the abandonment of old scientific paradigms and the adoption of new ones.  Dream journalists can contribute mightily to the emergence and understanding of new paradigms in science” by, for instance…

• “Case studies of interactive dreaming that will provide mutually confirming evidence that consciousness is never confined to the brain.
• “Documented and witnessed reports of dream precognition, telepathy, and other psi phenomena that will establish that these are entirely natural events and that our everyday experience is not the only engagement with time and space that is possible.
• “Serial dreams in which we return to locales where we seem to be leading a continuous life as our present selves, but with some different elements in the scene.  For example: we may be married to a different person, living in a different town, following a different line of work.  Serial dreams of this type may provide strong experiential evidence for the ‘parallel universes’ hypothesis.
• “Serial dreams in which we enter the situation or perspective of people living in other times or dimensions who are clearly not our familiar selves.  These experiences may be suggestive of our connectedness, in our multidimensional identity, with a vast family of consciousness in many time periods and frequency domains.”

The Eclipse Grand Cross is tight, spanning only three Degrees, 17-19 of the Mutable Signs (Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini).

In general, Angles between planets that are less than three Degrees apart can be considered to have a strong impact on the Present Moment.  Angles between planets that are less than eight Degrees apart will have less effect on the Present Moment, but will have profound impact on any project or Entity or Identity that is born at the time.  

“Orb” is the astrological term for the inexactitude of interplanetary Angles, but we prefer “Sensitivity” because how responsive we are to the Angles depends on how Sensitive we are to Energy.  The average Muggle might be hard-pressed to detect one Degree of Orb, while a Sensitive person could feel the impact of eight or ten Degrees even in the Present Moment.  We’ll all be much more Sensitive to any current-moment Angle that mirrors an Angle in our Natal chart.

Because we use many more planets, asteroids, dwarfs, and Centaurs than traditional astrology, for birth charts we try to keep our Attention directed toward Angles that are less than five Degrees apart.  Because we expect most of our readers to be Sensitive to Energy, we often use five degrees for Present-Moment charts as well.

Exceptions arise when Angles adjoin one another.  For instance, the Total Solar Eclipse occurs at 19 Degrees of Pisces, two Degrees from Chiron at 21 Degrees, and three Degrees from the South Node at 22 Degrees.  But Ceres sits at 16 Degrees, three Degrees on the other side of the Eclipse.  So we have a choice: we can interpret Eclipse-Chiron-South Node and Eclipse-Ceres as two distinct relevant Energies, or we can read Ceres-Eclipse-Chiron-South Node as one Stellium and one Energy.  To be thorough, we should do both, that is, read all three.

So now we’ve stretched from 17-19 Degrees to 16-22 Degrees, sevan Degrees of Separation.  Still well within traditional astrology’s span for a birth chart.  Lilith is also at 22 Degrees, so this allows our Grand Trine and Kite, since Pallas, like Saturn, is at 17 Degrees.  Haumea is very Conjunct Lilith, but at 24 Degrees.  We can’t ignore Haumea’s promise to Rebirth Lilith, but this brings us to 17-24 Degrees, and 16-24 if we  include Ceres, which is hard to exclude when the Ceres-Saturn Square is only half a Degree from being Exact.  While this seems like way too much slop for Present-Moment consideration, we can’t ignore the interconnections.

So far we have involved planets in Pisces (Ceres-Eclipse-Chiron-South Node), Aquarius (Pallas), Sagittarius (Saturn), Libra (Lilith-Haumea), Virgo (Jupiter-North Node), and Gemini (Chaos).  Uranus-Eris at 19-23 of Aries makes our Kite into five-sixth of a Grand Sextile, and the asteroid Klotho at 17 Leo completes it.

Klotho is one of the “Fates” – Klotho cuts the fabric from which Lifetimes are woven, Lachesis measures out the length of a Lifetime, and Atropos cuts the chord when that length is reached.  Their mother Moirai completes the foursome.  

It’s important to remember that Fate and Free Will, as a Duality, cannot be properties of the Universe at Large, as the Universe at Large is Multifarious.  Duality does happen to be a signal property of the Observing Human mind, however, so we interpret Fate as a philosophical issue, not an Existential issue.  It is striking, though, how often astrology seems to Teach us about what’s going on, as if our Co-Creations have long been mapped out by the Stars, as if the best outcome we could hope for from a Lifetime would be an Oscar.

We’re fond of saying that if we use Senses and Skills beyond the intellect, or if we desire to peer into the Unconscious, there is no Contradiction, only Paradox.  In most cases that’s giving the mind more credit than it deserves, but it’s certainly a valid Perspective.  So we could profitably view the Question of Fate and Free Will as a Paradox.  In fact, we can even look at it through Genia’s Yang-Feminine Perspective as a case of “both-and simultaneity without loss of distinctions”!  

How handy.  We’re being Rebirthed into the Yang-Feminine Age as we speak!  

We don’t usually think of Klotho as a heavy hitter, but completing a Grand Sextile gets our Attention, particularly with Haumea Rebirthing Lilith.  The combination means that…

This is a particularly germinal time for building foundations for our Role in the New “Fresh Violets in an Ancient Pottery Bowl” Culture that we’re Co-Creating.

Big revisions to our Cultural Zeitgeist were promised by the 2009 Neptune-Chiron Initiation, “Fresh Violets in an Ancient Pottery Bowl,” which we consider to be the astrological correlate of the Derivative Crisis that the Lizards quite successfully spun as a Mortgage-Deadbeat Crisis.  Genia’s comments are validation for what we’ve been talking about in this regard.

In a significant way, we’re “cutting the cloth” this month for our New economic and ecologic Persona.  We’ve suggested that major Commitments are better delayed till after June’s Eris-Uranus Initiation, since we can expect to meet whole new elements of ourselves then, but if we Trust our Knowing, there is a lot of preparatory work we can be doing that doesn’t involve firm Commitment.  And while New Moons are generally considered to impact the following two to four weeks, Eclipses are usually given a longer span of influence, often nine months.  So if we pinned on the Pattern this month, and wielded our pinking shears in July, we’d be in good stead.

Kelley Hunter usually reads the more traditional astrological symbols, while I stray into all manner of questionable nooks and crannies, so it’s particularly validating when the two of us walk down the same lane.  Her readings have been more mundane than mine of late, so we haven’t been linking to her newsletter.  On the other hand, she literally “wrote the books” on Lilith, and few folks are more in touch with the evolving Age of Lilith than she.  Her reading for this Eclipse mirrors ours, but of course as always adding much of note…

So we regard this Eclipse chart as a legitimate Grand Sextile, in addition to the Kite, Grand Trine, and Grand Cross – very Powerful.  The nature of a Sextile is Grace, as long as we provide the initial impetus to kickstart the process.  A Grand Sextile is about processes that feed on themselves and become virtuous cycles, like Genia’s interleaving helixes.  We may even be able to kickstart one of the Sextiles and watch it activate the other five!  Let’s talk about that in another installment.

I don’t want to leave this train of thought without bringing Pluto into the picture.  Pluto, at 18 Capricorn, Sextiles the Eclipse, and this Sextile forms the base of a Finger of God pointing directly at Klotho.  So it’s a good thing we included Klotho.  It doesn’t pay to ignore Pluto, or Eclipses.

Pluto represents that which Cannot Be Ignored.  I think of Pluto as a Powerful River, not in Space but in Time.  Paddling our canoe upstream is not an option; we’ll simply get pulled backwards into the rapids, if not the falls.  We need to ride this River downstream.  We can, however, steer toward one bank or the other, camp on an island, and since we can see where we’re going, pull out to portage around the falls.

The Klotho Finger of God tells us to Pay Attention Now to the way we’re designing the New Life that we’re Rebirthing for the Age of Lilith, to make sure that our New Life flows with the current and not against it.  The Eclipse-Ceres Conjunction reinforces this Directive, Asking us to Attend to Sustainability here.  

And to the other side of the Sustainability Coin, Sustenance – which means Letting Go of what’s no longer necessary – especially our Limiting Beliefs, which will be illuminated brightly for us with the Eclipse (which provides Illumination by showing us what it’s like without what we take for granted) on the South Node (which harbors our Held Emotions).  Penny Kelly spends about 90% of her book describing how difficult it was to Let Go of all the Resistance she had to Receiving Insight from The Elves of Lily Hill Farm.

The keystone in this Drama is the Initiation of Moirai, mother of the Fates, by Pluto on 10 March, at 18 Capricorn, “The Union Jack flag flies from a British warship.”  Rudhyar’s interpretation, “Protection provided by institutions in charge of maintaining order,” reeks of the Patriarchy, as Rudhyar’s roots were deep in European traditions.  

Our interpretation springs instead from the 1/1/2000 Initiation of Chiron by Pluto, “A flag turning into an Eagle, turning into a Chanticleer heralding the Dawn.”  The flag represents the old Loyalist status quo Ego, the Eagle the wide, inclusive Perspective of the Yang Feminine, and the Dawn of course the EnLightenment that follows.

So now we’re tossed back into the “Paradox” of Fate and Free Will with a renewed sense of Importance.  It would probably be quite accurate to say that astrology shows us our Fate if we proceed Unconsciously.  If we interpret the Squares to the Eclipse negatively, we’d Expect that because the Eclipse will cause us to freeze like a Deer in the headlights because there are too many Choices (Chaos), we’ll find our Future to be severely Limiting (Saturn).  

And I imagine that this will be an apt description of the Future confronting many of the Muggles that still suffer under the Illusion that their employer and their government have their interest at Heart, as the propaganda machine continues to work overtime to keep them convinced.  Ask your doctor if Climate Change Denial is good for you, it should say.  Ask your doctor if Globalization is good for you.  Ask your doctor if Glyphosate-saturated, mineral-deficient food-like substances are good for you.  If Death occurs, tell your doctor immediately and discontinue use.

I’m sure it’s an apt description for the poor blokes who’ve just been trying to survive the Drought and Turmoil in the Middle East, and for the Greeks being trampled by the results, after being wrung out by the Vulture Capitalists and Multinational Patriarchs running the EU.  We may not be able to divert the Pluto River, but we do have the option to Respond Consciously to the currents, to recognize that The Most Important Thing (Saturn) confronting us is Making Choices to steer our Unlimited Future (Chaos) in directions that promote our Deepest Desires and further our Mission in the Lifetime (Jupiter-North Node).

My New Favorite ‘Roid

As our Chief Asteroid Officer Elizabeth points out, the chart of tomorrow’s Sedna Station is fascinating and very Powerful.  We’ll go into detail about that in a minute, but for now let’s skip directly to the punchline.  The key to the chart (in the sense that it unlocks the Energy in the chart) is an asteroid named Hopi, after a group of Native Americans descended from the Aztecs, whose worldview is based on total reverence and respect for all things.  To me, that’s a great start.

When you equally space four planets around the Wheel of the Zodiac, it’s called a Grand Cross.  The essence of the Grand Cross is Motivation.  Normally, when two planets are a fourth of the way ’round the Wheel from each other, it’s a Challenge.  We call it a Challenge to Mastery, because it Motivates to constant improvement, though seen through the Perfectionist’s eye, it often feels Frustrating.  

But when you position four planets in this way, they’re in Balance, and we simply don’t have time to indulge the Perfectionist’s eye, because we’re too busy scurrying from one Challenge to the next that we seldom stop to think about it.  So the Grand Cross is the ultimate in perpetual Motivation.  Most Grand Cross people are Superachievers.

If you equally space three planet around the Zodiac, it’s called a Grand Trine – Trine as in three.  The essence of the Grand Trine is Grace; we often refer to it as “Dumb-Luck” Grace, because it flows so effortlessly and automatically.  Remember those people you grew up with who were “naturals” at something?  You may have had to work your butt off at it, but to them it was as natural as Breathing.  Those are the Grand Trine people.

Till they figure out that other people have their own natural and acquired Skills, a Grand Triner can even be a bit arrogant, thinking “this is so Easy – what’s wrong with them?”  They usually outgrow that pretty early, as soon as they’re involved in a Team and realize that everyone has their Role.

You know those people who Accomplish so much that you can’t comprehend how they do it?  Well, some of them are just good at taking credit for other people’s work.  But some of them were born with a Grand Cross AND a Grand Trine.  There’s a fellow who dropped out of Stanford on his second day there, started PayPal, sold it, bought a disused GM plant and started making fancy electric cars, and now he launches satellites for NASA on his homemade rockets – successfully!  

They say he knows as much about rocket science as the experienced engineers he hires.  His next act will be to reduce the cost of space travel by 99%, on his way to colonizing Mars.  He has a big Grand Cross and three Grand Trines in his Nativity.  These “Grand” Configurations are the Cat’s Meow in astrology – if you want to be the Successful Extrovert your Mother always wanted, that is.  The “Grand” Configurations are there for you – you don’t have to Work at them.  The represent prenatal Alignments in your Psyche that makes Life easier.

For the last week we’ve been experiencing a Grand Septile – seven planets equally spaced around the Loop in a Seven-Rayed Fairy Star.  The essence of such a Grand Septile is Magic – Timing, really, knowing when the moment is right to Act with the utmost Power and Effectiveness without wasting any of your Energy.  Our Stanford-dropout rocket-scientist friend has most of a Grand Quintile too – five equally space planets arrayed around the Zodiac – Mastery of Learning.

When you have six planets equally spaced around the Circle, it’s called a Grand Sextile, and its essence is Harmony and Ease.  Not Work, but Love.  Like the Grand Trine, it symbolizes Grace, but not dumb-luck Grace.  Rather, it’s about taking the first step to start Energy moving in the direction you want it to move.  It’s the Patron Configuration for our adventures with PIAVA.  A Grand Sextile has two Grand Trines embedded in it.

The Discovery chart for this asteroid Hopi, my new favorite asteroid, has both an Grand Cross and a Grand Sextile in it, plus a third Grand Trine – an excellent Energy for Manifesting total reverence and respect for all things!  And the chart for Sedna’s Station tomorrow has a Grand Cross and a Grand Sextile – if you include the asteroid Hopi!  Hopi completes the Grand Sextile.  Do you remember what was in the bottom of Pandora’s Box, that didn’t fly away when the lid came off?

Oh, and did we mention that the asteroid Pandora is there with Hopi too?  What a “Coincidence”!  Along with the asteroids Sappho and Arachne.  Arachne is particularly appropriate, since in the Hopi Mythology it was Spider Grandmother who wove the Universe.

What all this means, is that any projects we started this week, or start Thursday or Friday or this weekend, will fly like a rocket!  Full of Motivation, full of Love, full of Ease and Grace, and full of natural Effortless Alignment.  If we’ve invested any time and Energy into Embracing the places where Fear arose, that will amplify our Endeavor even more.

The Grand Cross in the Sedna-Station chart includes an Opposition between dwarf planets Chaos and Ixion (the Unlimited Potential of our Abandoned natural Genius), Square to the Nodes.  Jupiter is on the North Node, and Chiron on the South (Drop your Karma and Expand your Desires by Reframing your bummers).  For additional Motivation there are also an Asbolus T-Square across the Neptune-Orcus Opposition (an Open Window into our Limiting Beliefs), and a Moon-Venus-Pluto T-Square across the Opposition between Lilith and Vesta-Uranus (We can Manifest like Gangbusters by using our Yindependence and by PIAVAing Alignment between our Unconscious Beliefs and our Soul’s Purpose).

In the Grand Sextile, Hopi-Arachne-Pandora-Sappho at the Midpoint of Leo is Trine to Saturn at the Midpoint of Sagittarius and Vesta-Uranus at the Midpoint of Aries (We Create Reverence and Respect for All Things by Trusting our Instinct and Refraining from intellectualizing our Goals).  This Grand Trine is Sextile to the Midpoints of the Air Signs – Lilith in Libra, the Sun in Aquarius, and Chaos in Gemini (It will be a great time to find our Community).  As the corner where the Grand Cross and the Grand Sextile meet, Chaos – symbolizing Unlimited Potential – rules the chart.  In rocket science, the Sky is not the Limit!

Stationary Sedna itself, in Taurus, sits in its own Earth-Sign Grand Trine with Mercury in Capricorn and Jupiter-North Node in Virgo (We Let Go of many Obstacles by Undefining Ourself).  Chiron-South Node in Pisces makes it into a Kite (Empathy for the Orphans!).  In Jupiter-North Node, of course, this Grand Trine also intersects the Grand Cross, providing a secondary focus of Expanding into our Mission and Deepest Desires.

And, five of the seven Rays remain of our Fairy-Star Grand Septile: Jupiter-North Node, Juno-Mars, Chariklo-Hylonome, Vesta-Uranus, and Asbolus.

The six corners of the Grand Sextile (Great Grace, once we take the First Step) in the first Decanate of the Dynamic Signs (Intuitive Creative Action) include…

• The Nodes (Linear Time) at 10 Degrees of Aries (South) and Libra (South)
• Saturn Retrograde (The Most Important Thing in the Long Term) at 5-4 Degrees of Sagittarius
• Ceres (Sustainability and Elimination of the Unnecessary) at 3-5 Degrees of Aquarius
• Juno (The Edges of Consciousness) at 7-8 Degrees of Leo
• Venus (Walking in Beauty) at 3-10 Degrees of Gemini

The two Diamond Stars (Motivation without Roadblocks), which we’ll take up soon, create a Finger of God (Pay Attention!) pointing at the North Node.

The result of our new Adventures will be greater Attention to our Missions.  We won’t really know what we’re Doing or why we’re Doing it until after we start, but it’s important to follow our Instinct to Do, to dive in with both feet without knowing our destination, Trusting that we will be Guided as we go.  Change requires Grief, as we Lose what we’ve become accustomed to as the Ground of our Being.  Embrace Confusion and Grief as signs that you’re on the right track, not indications that you’ve gone astray.  You don’t need to grasp Confusion and Grief, but don’t sidestep them either.  Just be Present with them, Lovingly, and they’ll shift into Guidance quickly.

You can see the two Grand Trines (Dumb-Luck Grace) and the three Mystic Rectangles (Successful Response to Challenge) embedded in every Grand Sextile.

The three Oppositions that drive the Mystic Rectangles include

• The Nodal Axis – our Mastery of the Past in preparation for the Future
• Venus Opposite Saturn – Compassion versus Control
• Juno Opposite Ceres – Bringing into Consciousness roadblocks to Sustainability

Of course we resolve all Oppositions and Contradictions by shifting our Attention to “the Coin” rather than the heads or the tails.  The three Coins in the fountain here are Linear Time, Detachment, and Sustainable Consciousness.

Even Busier Week: Portal 3.31-4.8

We may want to have a Manganotantalite Crystal handy, or at least a picture of one we can Channel Energy from, as Manganotantalite – Manganese Tantalum Oxide – is very good at gilding our tongue.

The Centaur Nessus

Elizabeth points out that Vesta, the head of our Flying Squirrel, is at 2 Pisces, “A squirrel hiding from hunters: The need for self-protection.”  She quotes Anne Ortelee, “You can’t make this stuff up!”

And a couple of other things have popped up.  First, Vesta is Conjunct the Centaur Nessus!  My list of dwarf planets and Centaurs isn’t wide enough to include everybody, so I only occasionally look at the Centaurs Nessus and Asbolus.  Well, this puts Nessus at the focus of our Flying Squirrel.  Nessus is about Privilege and the calling out of Privilege, particularly Unconscious male Privilege.

So this week is a big week for a shift in Gender Balance, so Reanimation of the Earth is really right in line.  Keep your eye on the News to see if more MCPs don’t shoot themselves in the foot like the Indiana government has with its attempt to legalize discrimination against everyone who offends your Limiting Beliefs.  Which is actually an excellent practice for this week…

• Who offends you? 
• What Experience lies beneath that offense? 
• Any sense in which it Mirrors some part of yourself that you reject? 

Don’t forget the Funhouse Mirrors. 

For instance, I was grumbling to myself this afternoon about this very thing.  When I suggested to myself that it might behoove to replace these negative thoughts with positives, my mind’s response was “Good, I’ll think about how good it would feel to get even!”  Nice fellow, very spiritual.  It was trespass that irritated me, but when I ask myself how I trespass (the direct Mirror), nothing pops up.  In the Funhouse Mirror, though, what shows up is Deservingness.  Am I willing to stand up and unequivocally Claim my Space?  When I contemplate that, I find only visions of escalating violence rather than any sense of Peace and Safety.  I don’t even have an image of the possibility of Claiming my Space.  So I get to look beneath that Mirror for the little man behind the curtain.  When I find him, look out, I’m going to…!

The Centaur Asbolus

And then there’s Asbolus.  In early Gemini, Asbolus completes a Grand Sextile, not in the short-term Moon-Vesta Flying Squirrel, but in the second, long-term Mercury-Makemake Flying Squirrel.  So our Grand Sextile endures for a solid week.  The corners are Asbolus, Juno, Makemake, Saturn, Ceres, and Mercury.  Ceres has been Out of Bounds since Christmas.

A Grand Sextile (six planets evenly spaced around the Zodiac), recall, is a “virtuous circle,” where everything feeds and supports everything else.  While we can think of a Grand Trine (three planets evenly spaced) as “dumb-luck” Grace, a Grand Sextile is more about Reward for Action and Creativity.  When we “try something,” chances are it’ll work better than we imagined.  Of course the six-pointed Star includes three nested Grand Trines, so there’s no shortage of spontaneous Creativity.

So Asbolus (Clairvoyance) supports Juno (Consciousness) which supports Makemake (Manifestation) which supports Saturn (Focus) which supports Ceres (Sustainability) which supports Mercury (Alertness) which supports Asbolus, etc, in a rising crescendo.  Not only that, but we can take these in any order we want – so So Sustainability supports Consciousness which supports Focus, just to suggest one possible partial combination.

In other words, this week Intuition and Analysis and Growth and Attention and Permanence and Creativity are all mutually supportive.

The Centaur Hylonome

The first Flying Squirrel, the short-term one created by the fast-moving Moon, doesn’t form it’s own Grand Sextile because there are two Vacancies, one in late Gemini or early Cancer and the other in late Libra or early Scorpio.  There are probably Asteroids there, but unless the ‘roids are particularly relevant to the themes already identified, I don’t usually worry about them.  Of course we’d find the prolific bisexual Apollo Out of Bounds in early Cancer.  Acceptance of LGBTI is an important part of Gender Balance.

When our Beliefs or Dogmas or Archetypes change, our Boundaries change with them.  Which brings us to the Stellium, a significant Configuration in its own right, for several reasons.  The Stellium that forms the first Flying Squirrel’s right hand includes Pallas (Boundaries), Quaoar (Lawgiver) which was Stationary March 28, Chariklo (Beauty and Charm) which is Out of Bounds and also Stationary, and Hylonome (Grief and Liberation) which is this week’s main event, as it is Stationary at 9am PDT April 4 (http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pdt9.htm), at 2 Capricorn.

When a planet is either Stationary or Out of Bounds, its influence is Stronger than usual.  A planet is Out of Bounds when it’s further north than the Tropic of Cancer, or further south than the Tropic of Capricorn.  A planet is Stationary when it’s within one degree (or within a week or so) of turning around – going Retrograde or going Direct.  I won’t go into the details of Retrogradation here, since you can look up either “Stations” or “Retrograde” or “Repeating Events” (or even “Can-Opener”) in the Categories section at right.  But there’s one consideration I do want to discuss here.

In general, when a planet is Approaching a major event, such as a Station or an important Angle, the influence is Strong, and grows Stronger until the event is Exact.  After that, the influence fades fairly quickly if one is Conscious about the event, more slowly if one is not Conscious around it, and not at all if one is Defended against it.  Stationary refers to the speed of a planet’s travel.  So even though Quaoar’s Station was Exact last week, it’s still Stationary, but it’s impact is probably waning, as it’s not Approaching its event but Separating from it.  On the other hand, Hylonome is Stationary and Approaching its Exact Station, so it is very Strong. 

The Mythical Centaur Hylonome committed Suicide with the spear that killed her Lover, rather than live without him.  So we interpret the Cosmic Centaur Hylonome to symbolize Grief over major Changes in our Life, such as detachment from an Archetype, or from any other Energy with which we had been Merged.  We sometimes refer to it as Grief unto Ego Death, or Grief over Liberation.  When we Let Go of an Archetype, we are literally Liberated, but all Losses must be Grieved, so Grief is involved even at Liberation.  The Loss of an Archetype is indeed an Ego Death.

With Pallas Conjunct, Boundaries are obviously involved, and there is a strong implication that we will be strengthening a Boundary against an Archetypal Trance, or loosening a Boundary that overprotected us.  The other two Energies, Quaoar and Chariklo – both of which are Strong by virtue of being either Stationary or Out of Bounds – imply charisma, as Charm and Beauty merge with The Lawgiver.

So we might expect to encounter a situation where we reluctantly but necessarily “draw the line” to prevent our Energies from being drained by gilded-tongued alien Energies that want to control our Lives and Decisions.  Or it may be us with the gilded tongue, talking our way out of long-standing entanglements that no longer serve us.

The Lunar Total Eclipse

Four hours before Hylonome’s Station, at 5am PDT on April 4 (http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pdt5.htm), there’s a Total Eclipse of the Moon, at 15 Libra, “Circular Paths.”  Of course 15 Libra Opposes Uranus and Squares Pluto, making this Eclipse another major debriefing of our Yintegrity adventures.  The Energy continues into April 8, as the Sun and then Mercury work their way across Uranus.  Meanwhile Jupiter, which forms a Trine-Sextile Bridge across the Axis of the Eclipse, is Stationary at 10am PDT April 8.

Eclipses reveal to us Energies which were previously merged with the background but which are now made obvious by their absence.

Between now and April 8, we will discover a huge new element of our True Self that we hadn’t noticed before, creating a major shift in our Lives.  We’ll need to Grieve the Loss of the obsolete Identities that will fall away as a result.  All Losses must be Grieved, no matter how much we think we’d Celebrate at their demise.  The more we Embrace our Grief, the less painful it is.

Remember that Sextiles – especially Grand Sextiles – represent Creative Grace – the Grace flows freely, but after we take the first step.

I’m intrigued that re-reading http://www.harmonicconcordance.org/squares—oppositions.html ten years later, I wouldn’t change a thing.  I guess that means I haven’t grown much.  Or that if you have a message for the world, you need to repeat it a zillion times no matter how much you bore yourself, because as my first teacher would say, Your own Truth goes right through you!  That is, you hear it and instantaneously know it to be true, but your programming covers it up as quickly as the old forces obscure the actual root causes of the breakdown. 

Here’s an excerpt from the Harmonic-Concordance debriefing…

“Recall that our most precious attribute is our Attention – whatever we pay Attention to, we create more of.  So Grace and Equality is one thread we can look for in our lives over the last 10 days.  Have there been any circumstances arise, where you did not feel the loving hand of Grace?  Have real or imagined issues arisen in your life where Equality was missing?  If so, when they arose, where did your Attention go?  Did you focus on the difficulty or the inequality?  Did you lovingly Attend to your natural reactions?  Did you focus on the Grace and Equality you’ve been asking for?

 “Did you reject your natural emotional reactions to difficulty or inequality, or power-over them with ‘positive thinking’?  Another name for rejecting our natural emotional reactions, by the way, is self-abandonment.  When we reject our natural emotional reactions as ‘negative,’ we create more abandonment.

“Amid all the hoopla about Grace and Ascension, it’s easy to forget that the strongest planet at the HC was Uranus – Integrity.  Not yang Integrity (honoring Commitments) but yin Integrity (honoring Intuition).  Not only was Uranus the strongest planet in the HC, but it was also the only planet not involved in the Grace.  The implication is that we have to supply the Integrity.  No one gives it to us.  Kinda tautological, when ya think about it.

“By definition, Power is never given, only taken.  If ‘nice people’ don’t take their own Power, then ‘mean people’ do it for them.  In the last 10 days, have you been honoring yer Commitments?  Most of our yang Commitments were negotiated under Karma, not under Grace, and to survive under Grace they will need to be renegotiated or disavowed.”

Sounds like a broken record, doesn’t it!  It’s just a little different every time, and every repetition, especially when the perspective is shifted just a bit, helps link our Abandoned places to our Loving places, and helps build the new circuits in the brain that reinforce our Emerging Future.

The November 17 Full Moon

There isn’t much in the Full Moon chart that we haven’t already written about.  The most noteworthy Configuration is the Uranus Quintile Yod with Pallas and Saturn…

We will be Learning (Quintile) much by Focusing (Saturn) on the Edges (Pallas) of the space where it’s okay to drop our Mask (Uranus) and our Boundaries (Pallas) with the people we don’t feel Safe being fully Honest with (Uranus).  Approaching this with Curiosity (Yod) rather than analysis will be a huge boon.

There’s also an interesting Mystic Questangle – two parallel Quincunxes one Sign apart – Quincunxes between Ceres and the South Node, and between Mercury-North Node and Uranus.  The Quincunx creates a Teachable Moment, when we’re more open than usual to expanding our horizons.  It combines the Fifth Harmonic (Learning) with the Twelfth Harmonic (Pattern-Breaking).  In the Mystic Questangle, the Twelfth Harmonic dominates, but the Curiosity is still critically important…

The Magic here flows from Wondering what it is about our Karmic Patterns that seems to make our Self-Sabotage enduring, and how we might break through the skin of that bubble.  If we can maintain our Curiosity, we get insights about our Mission and our True Self that will help.  You may already have the answer but you’re rejecting it.  Every time you think you’ve found a clue, especially when you feel Certain (Certainty destroys Wonder), PIAVA the next step. 

We’re back to our analogy about Calculus – we have to envision where we would like to go and who we would like to be, and then reverse-engineer the path from there back to here – lean into, sense, and actualize our emerging future.  The process that Otto maps – Open Mind, Open Heart, Open Will and their corresponding “enemies” the Voice of Judgment and Doubt, the Voice of Cynicism, the Voice of Fear – is fascinating.  His “Open Will” is the willingness to Let Go of our Patterns and Let Come the Orientations that await us in our Future – should we choose to accept them.
