Self-Judgment and Self-Love V

If we temporarily de-emphasize the Grand Octile and just look at the same-Degree Angles to the Sappho Station…

…we can see that a Challenge around Action (Mars T-Square, the red triangle) pops out, and that Action is somehow an Easy Alternative (Trine Bridge, blue lines) to our Growing Pains (the Sappho-Jupiter Divide) and Spiritual Challenge (Neptune T-Square).  Before we sign up for a Yoga class (to Actively Stretch Into Expanded Self-Love) though, we may need to deal with the Action Challenge (Mars T-Square).

That Challenge is about how much we Realize that we have Choice (Moira) around the suggestion that The Most Important Thing (Saturn) is Transcending (Bee-Zed) our Need to Please Others (Hylonome).  Codependence is a very easily Defended excuse for postponing Self-Love because we were Programmed to Believe that Pleasing Others was Noble.  How old were we – maybe 2 or 3 – when we were taught to Share?

Which brings up an interesting point about those who never were taught to Share.  Could there be Epiphanies for them around their Control issues?  Probably not, but we can hope.

All of which suggests that perhaps we should Choose to Share more, with Trusted friends, around our closely held secrets and our most cherished possessions.  Boundaries are clearly involved in this Dance (Pallas-Haumea).  If there’s any Guilt (Nemesis) involved, Sharing more of ourself, when it’s Safe, would be even more Powerful.  And which suggests that it would behoove us to Stop Giving Away our Power, and Stop Giving Away anything else that Triggers our Scarcity but which we feel compelled to Share because we Should.  In fact, maybe…

The Bottom Line around Self-Love is always about Examining our “Shoulds.” 

Any discomfort in our Shoulders would underline that (Sappho Station in Gemini).  Then we can do that Yoga class (Saturn-BZ-Hylonome in Sagittarius) to start making it a Body Memory.

It may be useful to Remember that the Physical Dimension is just another Perspective on the Unitary Wholeness of Life, along with the Emotional, Spiritual, and Mental Perspectives.  Switching between these Perspectives – for instance, into the Physical to address an Emotional conundrum – often creates what appear to be Miracles.

The Call to Action (Mars T-Square) has two Easy Alternatives (Trine Bridges) – one to Breaking Oaths (Orcus) and one to Surrendering to Spirit (Neptune).  In fact the two of them make what’s called a Golden Rectangle (the big blue rectangle – it’s called “Golden” because the ratio between the long and short sides is the Golden Angle of Sacred Geometry fame).

We interpret a Golden Rectangle by Dancing with the diagonals.  We’ve already discussed the Choice-Shoulds (Moira v. Saturn-BZ-Hylonome) diagonal; the other is about Oaths and Sprituality (Orcus-Neptune).  The Key to this may simply be that Either/Ors are always Political; it’s Both/Ands that are Spiritual.  Sure, Religion can Inspire the Spiritual (Awe, Wonder, and Respect for All Things), but Religions, except in their Esoteric forms, usually boil down to a set of Rules, and often Require an Oath of Allegiance to these Either/Or Rules.

When we make a Promise or Vow or Oath that’s Either/Or, and if we don’t Betray it, we gradually Internalize it.  It becomes an Integral part of who we are, and we Accept it as a Value, forgetting that it derived not from the Heart but from the mind.  It becomes a Karmic Limitation for us in subsequent Lifetimes.  Stretching our Values (Venus-Jupiter) is part of the Sappho-Station/Total-Lunar-Eclipse Global Epiphany (Grand Octile).

Well, maybe not quite Global; the Eclipse is only visible from the Western Hemisphere, so maybe it’s Western Civilization and Colonial Supremacy that’s scheduled for Epiphany.

Truth Resides in the Compassionate Heart, not the Dualistic mind, and Truth is different for every person.  When we try to run our Life from Either/Or Values that we Learned from someone else, rather than from Both/And Values that we Discovered were True for us, we Live Falsely, constantly Betraying our True Self.  We’ll never find Self-Love there.

Full Moon Configuration II

There’s a second major Configuration in the Full Moon segment of the Full Moon chart, which we’ve emphasized with heavy lines here (same picture as last time, just different lines made bolder)…

The blue rectangle is a Golden Rectangle – sounds like a contradiction, but it’s blue because it’s all about Grace, and it’s Golden because the ratio between it’s sides is the Golden Ratio of Sacred Geometry fame.  It’s a Big Boon, motivated by the Energy in the two Oppositions (red lines) that make the “X” across its center.  

Miracles await us, in the form of Grace, when we Lovingly Embrace the Energies in both Oppositions.  It’s the sort of Grace and Miracle that we find when we plant Seeds in the spring in Sun instead of in the winter in shade, or when we point our kayak downstream instead of up – the Golden Ratio is about easy sailing with Nature rather than against Her.  So what are the Energies?

Vesta (Unconscious Beliefs) Opposite Pluto (Trance-Reformation).  Well, our Unconscious Beliefs are already Trances, so Reforming them should be easy.  But it’s not.  Our Unconscious Beliefs (aka Archetypes, Karma, Programming, Cultural Norms and Taboos) are enforced by Oaths, and in the best of circumstances Breaking Oaths creates Guilt.  Usually, the imagined consequences of such Big Changes seem far more dire.

If we’re still in contact with family members, they may enforce our mutual Unconscious Beliefs with all manner of Coercion, Insult, or downright Punishment and Abuse.  Our Culture may Abandon us, which is more than an Emotional issue.  When we Live in Community or Tribe, the interdependence is such that we may actually not be able to survive without the Group.  

Even if we can, and know we can, the Memories embedded in our Cells may still make it difficult.  This is why they did, and do, Walkabouts in Australia, and Vision Quests in North America, to Clear, through Experience rather than Understanding, the Archetype of Abandonment and Create a Body Memory of Personal Safety.

The other Opposition is between asteroid Klotho and a Mars-Ceres-Sedna-Mnemosyne Stellium (which is three or more planets clustered together).  Courage is more often described as “Feeling the Fear and Doing It Anyway” than it is as “No Fear.”  Ceres is about Sustainability, Mars about Effort, Sedna about Fear.  Mnemosyne is that Cellular Memory we talked about,

So, as with the Vision Quests and Walkabouts, this is about Creating a new Cellular Memory of Knowing that we can and will Exert Sustainable Effort to Confront what we Fear.  Klotho is Responsible for “Cutting the Cloth” or weaving the tapestry of a new Timeline or Lifetime.  Well, recall that Haumea Conjoins the Full Moon – this whole adventure is about Manifesting Rebirth.

So the second Opposition is about Building a New Life founded in a new Cellular Memory of Knowing that we can and will Exert Sustainable Effort to Confront anything and everything that we Fear.  This is not Understanding or Deciding, it’s Knowing.  Knowing means that we might remember back when we did Doubt, but we certainly don’t Doubt Now, and when we do remember we just chuckle at how silly we used to be.

So our two Oppositions create slightly different versions of the same Energies.  Notice the Finger of God (green wedge) pointing at Veritas-Chaos, which symbolizes the Truth of Unlimitedness, right in the middle of the Golden Rectangle.  So in case we didn’t get the message Let Go of our Limitations from the two Oppositions, the Finger of God tells us to Pay Attention to the Liberation that awaits us.

The second Finger of God points at Klotho, reminding us that this isn’t just about Achieving Liberation, this is about Founding a whole new Identity based on Liberation from our former Limits.

Blessing Full Moon Eclipse

Two planets are “Sextile” to one another when they’re within a few Degrees of being two Signs apart, or one sixth of the way ’round the Zodiac from one another.  The Angle from one planet to another determines how their Energies are Relating to one another.  One sixth of the way ’round the Loop is a 60-Degree Angle, and it’s a very positive Angle.  

The Sixth Harmonic (ie, one sixth of the Circle) is about Partnership, Collaboration with Others, and particularly with a Special Other.  Well-functioning Partnership makes Life a lot Easier – with two cats in the yard and all.

The Trine (Third Harmonic, 120 Degrees or four Signs apart, a third of the Loop) represents “Dumb-Luck” Grace – things flow so Effortlessly that we don’t even know that there could be Resistance.  Personalizing a Trine – thinking the Ease is a result of our own special heroism – creates insufferable Arrogance.  

The Sextile is more subtle.  It only Opens the door to Grace after we’ve taken the “first step.”  If we don’t take the first step, nothing happens.  Kind of the way Partnership works – one of us has to take the first step.  There’s generally no Arrogance involved, more like Surprise and Gratitude instead.

We use the term “Grand” when any set of Angles fills the Circle – three Trines back-to-back is called a “Grand Trine,” six Sextiles end-to-end a “Grand Sextile.”  Generally, the “Grand” Configurations are Blessings.  Even the Grand Cross, which is four Squares (each 90 Degrees, one fourth of the Loop), is a Benefic, even though it’s made up of four Angles which by themselves would be Challenging.  It’s Benefic because, like the other “Grands,” it’s Balanced.

Many folks consider the Grand Sextile – a six-pointed Star – to be the greatest Configuration of all.  A Grand Sextile contains two Grand Trines, so there’s plenty of Dumb-Luck Grace.  But there’s also all that Collaboration flowing from six Sextiles all working together, once we set it all in motion.

The long-lived Ixion Golden Rectangle we’ve been touting for months is made of two Trines and two Sextiles, so while it doesn’t include a Grand Trine, it does fill the Circle and is relatively Balanced, so it’s also fairly “Grand,” it’s a very beneficial Configuration.  Well, the 10 February (4:30 pm PST) Full Moon Eclipse, at 23 Leo-Aquarius, turns that Golden Rectangle into a Grand Sextile.  Break out the Champagne!  It’s short-lived, since it’s the fast-moving Moon that forms the Configuration, but we get a solid half-day out of it, from around 11am till 11pm PST on 10 February.

Grand Sextiles occur in either the Dynamic Signs or the Magnetic Signs, this one in the Dynamics.  So Action is implied as our strategy most likely to be successful.  That means Brave and Brash.  The six points on the Star represent the six Energies that will Dance hand in hand on 10 February…

• Trusting Intuition, Trusting Self (Moon in Leo)
• Big Rebirth – take the Risk to meet new People and Be a new Person (Jupiter-Haumea in Libra)
• Forbidden Creativity – take the Risk to loose the chains and really Be Your Scariest Self (Saturn-Ixion in Sagittarius)
• Party it Up and Celebrate Community (Sun in Aquarius)
• Be Unabashedly Yourself, no holding back or thinking about Consequences (Uranus-Eris in Aries)
• Whenever you Feel a Should coming on, Cancel-Neutralize-Upgrade it before it can get past the Sh-h- (Atropos-Chaos in Gemini)

Any Full Moon Eclipse is Stronger than the average Full Moon.  This one is a “Penumbral” Eclipse, which means you have to look very closely to notice the slight darkening of one side of the Moon.  While a Full Moon does its work by Illuminating what was hidden, an Eclipse does its work by making absent what was there all along but not differentiated.  If all you see is a Forest, then they log half the Trees, suddenly you see, through their absence, that there were Trees there too, not just a Forest.

So a Penumbral Eclipse does double duty.  The Full Moon is almost as bright as usual, illuminating what we need to see to make our next jump in Growth of Consciousness.  It’s also Eclipsed – we may have to squint to notice, but the Eclipse Energy is there – so what’s been hiding in plain sight suddenly becomes obvious by its absence – and that is our next jump in Consciousness.  

We don’t Grow in Consciousness through Discovery; we Grow through Differentiation, through Noticing what we hadn’t Noticed before.  That’s what Meditation is all about.  You might Notice that you’ve been Shoulding on yourself without Realizing it till now, for instance.  Or you may find that your Limits are Illuminated in such a way that you Realize that they’re your Limiting Beliefs, not the “Laws of Nature” you thought they were.

The Yin Gate and PIAVAs

The Yin Gate is a special case of the Golden Rectangle, which is the blue rectangle in the picture.  Blue lines represent Energies of Grace or Ease.  This particular blue rectangle is called “Golden” because the ratio of the length of the long lines to the length of the short lines is the “Golden Ratio” (~1.618 to 1.000).  That ratio is called “Golden” because it is found everywhere in Nature – among tree branches, among leaves, among veins in leaves, among bones and vessels and nerves in Critters, in Crystals, in molecular structure, etc.,  etc.

We might also encounter it as the “Golden Angle” (360 Degrees divided by 1.618 or 222.5 Degrees).  We’ve written about that Angle in astrology, at

We focus our astrological Attention on the Angles between planets because the Angles between them indicate the sort of Energy the planets Act Out through their combinations.  The Signs in astrology represent Flavors of Expression, the Houses represent Material Manifestation Styles, and the Angles (“Aspects” in astrologuese) represent Energies.  We happen to believe that the Essence of the Universe is Energy; Matter is just a side effect.  So we focus on the Angles – the Energies.

We differentiate the sort of Curiosity that seeks Answers from the sort of Curiosity that’s Perpetual.  Perpetual Curiosity is akin to Awe and Wonder, like the Awe and Wonder you can see in the eyes of a Newborn when they’re Safe, or what you’re likely to Feel during a Total Solar Eclipse.  We focus on Perpetual Curiosity because it Allows us to escape from our Birdcages.  

When we Understand, we create a box or a Cage to put ourselves in.  We do it for Safety.  Just as an example, suppose you’re walking down the sidewalk of a road that has curves in it.  At some points in the curve, cars will appear to be coming directly at you.  Do you leap out of the way every time this happens?  No, because your Understanding tells you that the driver will follow the road rather than go straight ahead and run over you.

This saves you from burning out your adrenals every time you go for a short walk, and keeps your clothes and shoes tidy because you spend less time in the shrubbery.  Now, once you encounter a driver who’s composing a text on their cellphone instead of paying Attention to the road, then, once you get out of the hospital, if you do, you’re going to recognize that your Birdcage needs to have some of its bars adjusted.  This is the Danger of Understanding; it works till it doesn’t.

When we study the metaphysical Universe, Understanding is constantly in our way.  The more we Feel Safe about our Understanding, the more Danger we’re in, physically.  Of course there’s no metaphysical Danger; cars can’t put Souls in the hospital, as much as they Enjoy the game of trying.  Or so we Understand.  

There are things we Know, a priori.  These things don’t come from the mind’s Understanding, they come from the Heart’s Knowing.  Understanding is Dangerously subject to mass hypnosis and a slavish Devotion to Logic and Pleasing.  While everyone focuses on what’s Logical, they seldom mention that Logic is irrelevant when you Change the Assumptions.  Without specific and carefully specified Assumptions, Logic is nothing but propaganda, also often known as Bullshit.  And while everyone focuses on Pleasing and Conforming, they seldom mention that it freezes off your Creative Genius as if it was a wart.

We were all raised to Understand (and sometimes follow) reasonable Limits of socially acceptable – in our Culture and in our family – behavior, thoughts, and Emotional Expression.  Maturity it’s known as, and you’ll look long and hard to find folks who Understand that Maturity is propaganda.  This is called our “Programming,” and it’s not easy to break out of.

There are places for all of us where our Programming and our Heart’s Knowing don’t jive with one another.  Self-Sabotage is the result.  Deprogramming ourself and eliminating Self-Sabotage is a worthy goal of astrology, since your natal chart shows how you ran your Energy before you were Programmed to Conform to socially acceptable Understanding.

Which is not to say that many forms of social standards aren’t very handy – no one needs to be murdered while just walking down the street because someone’s Deprogrammed self thought it would be kicks, or because their Emotional Response to Fear was to strike out.  On the other hand, the Heart’s Knowing is far less likely to be murderous than, say, the mind’s Ideals or the Solar Plexus’s or Belly’s Emotions, so Deprogramming to the Heart’s Knowing is not in general anti-social.  

The mind doesn’t know that everyone’s Heart’s Knowing is different from everyone else’s.  The Heart does Know this, and accepts it Fully.  “Don’t bother me with the Facts” is completely legitimate when it’s the Heart that’s speaking.  When it’s the mind’s Ideology that’s speaking, it’s rhetoric and propaganda.

All this is a long way of saying that the emphasis in a Yin Gate is on the green Xes, and the green lines represent Curiosity, hopefully Perpetual Curiosity.  Perpetual Curiosity is Yin (Magnetic); Understanding is Yang (Dynamic).  An important facet of Perpetual Curiosity is Paradox – the Yin side of Contradiction.  The mind is Dualistic; the Universe is Multifarious and Unitary.  Dualistic Either/Ors Limit us; Multifarious Both/Ands Expand us.

So the mind has to be retrained to simultaneously accept what appear to be Mutually Contradictory ideas or Emotions.  We sometimes refer to this as “Cognitive Dissonance,” after Castaneda, but the term is sometimes used differently by others.  For instance, can your Attention be simultaneously within your Body and outside of your Body?  Attention is the scarcest “commodity” we have; if we can retrain our Attention to be Multifarious, we’ll be Living much more fully, living more Multidimensionally.

That’s our Objective, to be as Present as we can, to as much of Reality as we can, as much of the Time as we can.

This is important because only the “Right” brain can access Perpetual Curiosity.  While we could use any of the PIAVA techniques to address one of the green lines in the Yin Gate, we often use Wonder.  

In astrologese the green lines are called “Quincunxes” – an “Unx” is one twelfth, and “Quin” means five – so we’re looking at an Angular relationship between planets where one planet is five twelfths of the way ’round the Zodiac from the other planet.  (We often use this type and indentation for technical astrological notes.)

In the particular Yin Gate that Blesses us as we speak here in early December 2016, the four green lines connect…

• (1) Lilith (Self-Sovereignty) to Chaos (Unlimited Potential) – the format is “planet (meaning)”.

• (2) Haumea (Rebirth) to Sedna (Embracing Fear).

• (3) Ixion-Pholus (Recovering our Abandoned Genius) to Sedna (Embracing Fear).

• (4) Lilith (Self-Sovereignty) to Uranus-Eris-Ceres-Mnemosyne (Memories of Deviation from, or Rejection of, our True Self).

So the way this Yin Gate Mystery School game is played, you can assign a PIAVA of your Choosing to each of the four green lines, assembling your PIAVAs using as building blocks the meanings of the planets (given above in parens) and relevance to your own Life at the moment.  For instance, I might Choose…

• (1) “I Wonder what Potential Surprising new ways I will Create or be Given, to Survive and Thrive in the face of Cultural Collapse, when I am more fully Deprogrammed.”  (ie, Self-Sovereign, rather than being Driven by Unconscious Programming.)

• (2) “God, Goddess, Creator of All That Is, I Command that my Ego be Gently revamped so that my first Instinct is to Embrace Fear Lovingly, Breathing into it.  It Is Done, It Is Done, It Is Done…  Thank You, God/Goddess…  Show me…”   (This is a specific Ritual format; see https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/2015/11/02/piavac/ .  By Ritual, I simply mean that there’s Power in Repetition; I don’t mean that there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to do it.  The Ritual portions are in purple.)

• (3) “Ganeshi, please Remove All Obstacles to a  Loving and Gentle introduction to the Fears that Restrain my Unique Creative Genius, and please Remove All Obstacles to my Lovingly and Gently Embracing those Fears and Liberating my Brilliance, Gorgeousness, Talents, and Fabulosity.  Thank you, Ganeshi!”  (Another Ritual form, less structured than the first; see https://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/17297.Marianne_Williamson .)

• (4) “Great Spirit, please Lovingly and Gently and Rapidly and Completely grant me the Self-Sovereignty to Let Go of of Self-Sabotage and Fully and Permanently Embrace my True Self.” (Here I’ve put the adverbly clause in purple to emphasize it, because it’s a very useful addition to most PIAVAs, in an attempt to reduce or eliminate the “Healing Crisis” or Ego’s Resistance to Change, without hampering the Request.  We’re courting Ego Death here, and the Organism has a very deep Drive to Survive; the Ego’s job is to keep the Soul’s Physical Vehicle Alive, and it Reacts Vigorously to threats!)

 There are a couple of ancillary “Rituals” or suggested additions to the PIAVA process.  The process is designed to Trigger the Intuition and Soul-Connection, so to use it we have to get the mind and its Birdcage of Understanding out of the way.  To do that we “Change the Subject,” or do our best to forget that (and what) we just PIAVAed.  

Test this with your lost car-keys or anything else that you’ve misplaced or that has gone Walkabout.  If you “look everywhere” for them and can’t find them, PIAVA to find them.  When you Change the Subject, you’re very likely to “happen upon them” in a place where you never would have “thought” to look.

Yesterday for instance when I came in from Gardening I noticed that my new clippers weren’t where I have become accustomed to putting them.  I often set a tool down in the Garden and then forget to return for it.  So I checked the other places I may have put it, then retraced my paths through the Garden as best I could remember.  No clippers.  So finally I asked Ganeshi to “Remove All Obstacles” to finding my clippers.  Almost immediately I had a clear picture in my mind’s eye of the clippers slipping to the bottom of the box that I was putting my harvested Nettles into.  Clippers found, Soup delicious.

The general observation is that when we have no Unconscious blocks to a Manifestation, the Universe will Respond directly to a PIAVA.  When we do have Unconscious blocks, or Conflicting Goals, the Universe will show us the blocks instead.  It uses the Fisherperson example – give someone a Fish, and they’ll eat; teach someone how to Fish, and they’ll sit around in the boat drinking beer all afternoon, then maybe they’ll get to eat, if the ballgame didn’t scare away the fish.

So the third part of the PIAVA process is, after a suitable hiatus, “Paying Attention.”  If we haven’t directly Manifested what we PIAVAed, or gotten some useful information about it, within a day or two, we want to review what we PIAVAed while we Ask what occurred, between the PIAVA and the review, that was Unusual or Unexpected.  That will be a clue to our block or Conflicting Goal(s).  Since the blocks and Goals are likely to be Unconscious, the clue will probably be in the form of a riddle or a funhouse mirror, a role reversal, or another befuddlement.

So we may have to PIAVA that we come to Understand the relationship between the original PIAVA and the Unusual or Unexpected Event.  For instance, suppose you PIAVAed World Peace and Equal Rights, and the next day your fellow countrypersons elected a Misogynist and Racist to be your Fearsome Leader.  “Great Spirit, what the heck does that say about the sort of Self-Sabotages the Unconscious might be perpetrating to World Peace and Equal Rights?”  

And off we go from there, Exploring the Unconscious Wilderness…

Rebirth of Genius

We’ve talked many times about our Adventures in 24 Degrees of various Signs, and they’re Lit Up Big Time again today, in addition to our Resistance to The Life Force.  Today we can summarize our 24-Degree Adventures as Rebirth of Genius, as like it or not, our Abandoned Genius is being Called Out.  It should be obvious that our AG is Life-Enhancing, and our Resistance to it is Anti-Life.  But of course our Resistance was Programmed in, and there’s a good chance it’s still  reinforced by our Cultures – or we Believe it does.

The Pattern is basically Positive, but it has its Challenges, especially now.  We’ve been ranting about Yintegrity since 2012, when “the 1960s” began returning in earnest, and we redoubled our efforts earlier this year, when Eris Initiated Uranus.  Lots of folks still interpret Eris as Dischord, but they’re missing the point.  Sure, the Golden Apple she threw into the party was Disruptive, but it was Disruptive solely because the Alpha Goddesses were in Denial about their Vanity and Competition.

Then Ceres came along to join them, demanding that we make our Yintegrity Permanent.  And now Mnemosyne is Dancing with the same Arian location, inviting us (or forcing us) to recall all the Episodes that have caused us to Suppress our Yintegrity in the first place.  

Mnemosyne crosses Eris again 2 November at noon PDT in 23 Aries, a Degree symbolizing flagrant Fecundity.

Then Haumea Opposed Uranus-Eris et al, inviting (or forcing) Rebirth – Asking us to start our Life over with a clean slate as much as we could, with more Yintegrity hanging out.  Of course that means Ego Death, as we have to Give Up all of the Psychic an Social props that were Foundational for our Olde Identity.  That Rebirth is basically still going on, and today we were fitted for diapers.

The asteroid Klotho was Initiated by Haumea today at 11am PDT, in 24 Libra, which Degree symbolizes a Butterfly with a third left wing.  Butterflies are symbols of Regeneration and Transformation anyway, and the third Left wing is an emphasis on the Feminine.  Of the three Fates, Klotho was the one who “cut the cloth,” or wove the tapestry that our Lifetime would Embody.

So if you happened to raise your arms today and felt a new wrap slipping around your shoulders, your Third Eye is working like a charm.  It’s not a coincidence that it’s our shoulders – Should-ers – that hold up our clothes – our Identity.  Probably wouldn’t hurt to strip nekkid, then hold up your arms again while you Imagine your new Cloak descending.

That’s literally “the half” of it, half of the Grace – see, already Challenging, and we’re talking about the Blessed part.

The Blessing is a Golden Rectangle, with Uranus-Eris et al and Haumea et al forming one of the two Oppositions.  The other is Ixion et al Opposing Chaos et al.  

The et al for Chaos (Unlimited Potential) is asteroid Veritas (Truth), which crossed Chaos for the second time on 26 October.  The et al for Ixion (our Abandoned Genius itself) is Pholus (Being Fully Responsible To).

In other words, the “other half” of the Grace is the Unlimited Potential that our Abandoned Genius is willing to deliver to our doorstep, if we’re willing to “swear an Oath” to Support It instead of Supporting our Olde Ego that has Suppressed It for so long.  More Ego Death, eh?  What Fun!

Okay, that’s the Good News; now what about the Bad News?  That’d be the actual Challenges.

I don’t think we have a name for this Configuration yet.  It deserves one.  Two third planets make T-Squares to each Opposition.  In this case the T-Squares are both on the same side of the long side of the Golden Rectangle.

We’ve talked about the Chiron T-Square, where Chiron Squares each end of the Chaos-Veritas Opposition to Ixion-Pholus.  The result is Despair, and Miracles when one is able to find a new Perspective that dissolves the apparent Dilemma.

The second T-Square focuses on Mars, which Squares both ends of the Opposition from Haumea et al to Uranus-Eris et al.  This one is more local in Time…

• Mars Squared Uranus 28 October 9pm PDT
• Mars Squared Eris 30 October 6am PDT
• Mars Squares Haumea 31 October 2am PDT

We usually Experience Mars as being Energized, or Enervated if we’re in Resistance.

Remember all this is about Mastery through Challenge, not Challenge for the sake of hassle.

Do you have a Feeling yet for the nature of your Abandoned Genius?  If you could with a wave of your Magic Wand blow away All of your Limitations, what would be the Funnest thing you could think of to Do or Be?  What’s the first Obstacle that comes to mind when you think about Doing or Being that person?  Maybe it’s Fear of Being Judged, or something like that?

Following Eugene Gendlin, adding “…or something like that” is always a good idea, so you work with the Limitation rather than the wording.  When you named that vague Sense “Fear of Being Judged,” you had something in mind.  That’s what you want to work with.  You want to Change the Territory, not the Map.  You can redraw the Map later, once the Territory Changes.

“I Wonder what it would be like to Let Go of Fear of Being Judged.”

“Great Spirit, please Lovingly and Gently Liberate me from my Fear of Being Judged.”

“God/Goddess, Creator of All That Is, I Command that my Fear of Being Judged melt in the Warm Embrace of my Self-Love.  It Is Done, It Is Done, It Is Done.  Thank you God/Goddess!  Show me.”

You might want to save that last one for 11 November, when Haumea Initiates Sappho (at 2am PST).

Use quite a bit of rehearsal when you do an important PIAVA.  Once you say “I Wonder what it would be like to Let Go of Fear of Being Judged,” you may get an immediate Insight that’s more specific or more accurate.  You may Realize for instance that you don’t Fear Being Judged, you Hate Being Judged.  Or maybe it’s not Judged so much as Judged Unfairly that you dislike.  Or maybe it’s really Fear of Being Abandoned or Outcast, because you Believe that Being Judged could lead to that.

Once you finish rehearsal and get a PIAVA that you’re satisfied with, don’t forget to Change the Subject.  You’re soliciting Big Changes here, so you probably don’t want to process more than one of your Limitations at once.  Give each PIAVA a day or two to gestate, then Pay Attention to anything unusual that occurred since you PIAVAed.  Part of your “…or something like that” may have arisen – then you can modify your PIAVA and go from there.  

If you Feel Changes, then you can move on to your next Limitation.  While there’s a peak in this Energy here, the Energy isn’t going away anytime soon.  Today there’s about a Degree and a half Separating Eris, Haumea, Ixion, and Chaos.  A year from now their Separation will be a Degree and a half.

That is, they’re 30 and 60 Degrees apart, but if we ignore their Signs and just look at their Degrees within their Signs, there’s only a Degree and a half of Separation.

If when you Pay Attention you don’t see anything relevant, then pick anything unusual or Intense, regardless of relevance, and PIAVA…

“I Wonder how that is Related to my Fear of Being Judged, or Related to anything else that stops me from Following My Joy.”

Pattern-Breaking Tricolors

Forgive us some astrobabble…

A question: “What do you think about Sun-square-Chiron-trine-Uranus…is this a modified tricolor of some kind?

Yes, interesting, Sun-Square-Chiron-Unx-Uranus-Trine-Sun, brilliant observation. 

The Patterns that assemble in a tight corner of a chart seem to me (and others) to be less dynamic than Patterns which assemble across the chart, like the difference between a Golden Gnomon (restricted domain) and a Golden Yod (chart-crossing).  Unless of course the tight Patterns are for some other reason (only Pattern, Stationary or otherwise dominant planet, etc) prominent.

So if such a “Tight Tricolor” occurred on its own, we’d hypothesize that the Grace of the Trine could be unlocked (to ease the Square) by Changing a Habitual Pattern (like Anne Ortelee at http://anneortelee.com/?p=4751 in fact suggests), substituting the meaning of an Unx (Pattern-Breaking, or seeing through new Perspectives, or the Hanged Man, the Twelfth Harmonic) for the Curiosity of the Quincunx in the Major and Minor Tricolors.  So with these three it’d be something like “If you Respond to Discouragement (Sun Sq Chiron) by Wearing one of your Masks upside down (Chiron Unx Uranus), you could unlock a pulse of your own hidden Genius (Ixion New Moon Trine Uranus),” or something like that.  As a friend says, “Don’t get Even, get Odd” (without the armory of course).

And there’s an even “Tighter Tricolor” in Pallas-Pluto Square Uranus Unx Chiron Sextile Pallas-Pluto! – “If we Respond to Boundary issues (Pallas-Pluto Square Uranus) by Changing the way we Perceive or deal with Discouragement (Uranus Unx Chiron), we may see ‘Miraculous’ ways we can Act to shift our Boundaries into Win-Win (Chiron Sextile Pallas-Pluto),” or something like that.

Note too the Pallas-Pluto Square Mars Quincunx Chiron Sextile Pallas-Pluto is what we’ve been calling a Minor Tricolor (Square-Quincunx-Sextile).

But in this chart (and also applying to others with the same Configurations), the Tight Tricolor is a natural consequence of a T-Square across one Opposition of a Golden Rectangle, and the Tighter Tricolor is a natural consequence of a T-Square across the other Opposition (which is focused on the same side of the Golden Rectangle as the first T-Square).  In a “normal” Golden Rectangle, we’d foretell Grace when we deal with the Oppositions as “Coins” rather than as Contradistinctions.  But with T-Squares to the Oppositions, that shifts the focus to the T-Squaring planets outside the Golden Rectangle.

So the Bottom Lines would be Grace resulting from…

• Rebirth into Unlimited Expression of our Genius (Chaos Opposite Ixion New Moon) mediated by Optimism and Belief in Miracles (T-Square to Chiron) and facilitated by Playing with arbitrary shifts in the way we wear our Masks (the Tight Tricolor)
• Support for Actively Removing our Masks (Mars Opposite Uranus) mediated by Trusting our Guidance about Changing our Boundaries (T-Square to Pluto-Pallas) and facilitated by arbitrarily Changing our Orientation toward Discouragement (The Tighter Tricolor)

Uranus, Eris, and Ixion

By the way, isn’t it a fascinating “Coincidence” that Ixion Trines Uranus just at Eris Initiates Uranus, next June.  

The Uranus-Ixion Cycle is Waxing, expounding a Cycle begun early in 1977 at 12 Scorpio, “An official embassy ball; Group-consciousness, as it flowers at the highest level in cultural interchanges between representatives of the elite of the ruling class,” where the subtext is Rudhyar’s (possibly reflecting his European childhood).  The timing corresponds well to the advent of Reagan and Thatcher and the beginning of the resurrection of the 1%, as in at least the US, this is when the prosperity of the 99% began to decline.  At least part of the Media seems to be starting to demystify The Donald in earnest.  We may be seeing the 1% shooting themselves in the feet; the subtext we’d add would be more like “An official embassy ball; Greed-consciousness, as it flowers at the highest level in cultural interchanges between the most corrupt of the Corporate Masters and their government flunkies.“

The Ixion-Eris Cycle is Waning; the decaying Cycle began in 1867 at 13 Cancer, “A hand with a prominent thumb is held out for study: The power of the will in shaping character.”  Rudhyar’s subtext here is straight out of Palmistry – Judging people based on their logical ability, will power, and love nature.  Ixion-Eris is about Denying and Revealing the ways we Power-Over Others, with a footnote that Genius Changes the World by Powering-Over the status quo.  Under social pressure will power and CBT logic would suppress Genius.  The Golden Apple would imply Liberation from Guilt about our Genius.

The Eris-Uranus Initiation at the Ides of next June occurs at 24 Aries, “Blown inward by the wind, the curtains of an open window take the shape of a cornucopia: Openness to the influx of spiritual energy.”  While this Energy would already be Strong, it’s noteworthy that its final form is not Co-Created yet.

Pallas-Pluto New Moon

Conveniently, we only need to do one chart for the upcoming New Moon and Pluto-Pallas Initiation, because they occur only three hours apart – and because they are intricately intertwined.  The Initiation is the primary Focus of the chart, but the New Moon isn’t too far behind.  Let’s start with the Pallas-Pluto Cycle.

We have some Boundaries that are…

• too tight – our Judgments, which Limit our Experience, and some that are
• too loose – the places where we Give Away our Power.  

The five-year Pallas-Pluto Cycle is always a major Teaching about how we Sabotage our Self by…

• holding what we Want at arm’s length because we have Unconscious Judgments that interfere with our ability and willingness to Receive it
• lacking the ability and willingness to strive toward our Goals because we Give Away the Power we need to achieve them. 

In a usual Pallas-Pluto Cycle, we find ourselves being “forced” to tighten and loosen Boundaries to deal with circumstances that arise, but we often over-react, tightening where optimally we’d loosen, and vice versa.  For instance, for the last five years we’ve been encountering situations where we have unfinished Emotional business.  If we were Conscious of this, we’d have been Braving up to Lovingly and Gently Embrace the Emotions involved so we could Transcend them.  Without the Consciousness we’d be more likely to Choose Avoidance.  This Choice, to Embrace or Avoid, will have had a big influence on how we adjusted our Boundaries with People and Situations and Things, and those adjustments will have had a big influence on whether we’ve Manifested what we Want.

The prior Cycle Initiated at 6 Capricorn (the Pisces Duad) in January 2011, “Ten logs lie under an archway leading to darker woods“; the new Cycle Initiates at the Midpoint of Capricorn (in the Gemini Duad), “In a hospital, the children’s ward is filled with toys.“

This next Cycle is about continuing to Heal through being willing and able to Play with new processes and variations on the processes we’ve been using.  We can expect Alternative/Complementary Medicine to expand more than we’d otherwise Expect, for instance.  And Being now Conscious, we’ll Choose Humor and Excitement over Gravity and Fear and Hesitation – it wouldn’t hurt to remember the anthem that Fear + Breathing = Excitement.  The Challenge to Support our Yintegrity will be more accentuated, but easier, than it has been, and we’ll be more likely to Choose to develop the hidden Genius that we’ve been Ashamed or Frightened of, than to maintain the Masks we’ve used to create the Illusion of Popularity.

The Pluto-Pallas Initiation is the focus of a T-Square across a Mars-Uranus Opposition (Braving up to Support our Yintegrity, or not), but the Opposition is Trine-Bridged (Graced) by the New Moon, which at 20 Sagittarius (“Pelicans, menaced by the behavior and refuse of men, seek safer areas for bringing up their young“) Conjoins dwarf planet Ixion (Pathological Genius).  The Mars-Uranus Opposition is also Trine-Bridged by Ceres (Sustainability), which with Chaos (Unlimited Potential) forms a Grand Trine (Dumb-Luck Grace) – making Uranus the head of the resulting Kite (Ease in seeing the Prize to be gained by Choosing Yintegrity, and hence ease in pursuing it assertively).

The Pluto-Pallas Initiation is also the focus of a Golden Gnomon…

to use the Sacred-Geometry term for what we’ve been calling a Quintangle – two planets Biquintile to one another with a third planet at the near Midpoint; the Gnomon is “Golden” because like the Golden Rectangle it’s constructed using the Golden Section…

With Juno Biquintile the South Node as its base (Learning about our Suppressed Emotions).

The New Moon (Reboot) is also the head of another Kite (Ease) with the Mars-Chaos-Ceres Grand Trine (Dumb-Luck Grace with Sustainable Projects of Unlimited Scope), which we can hope will apply to the Paris Climate Talks.  Taking out Ceres and adding back Uranus gives us a Golden Rectangle, with Mars-Uranus and New Moon-Chaos as the Oppositions.

While Golden or Mystic Rectangles provide much Grace, their Gifts are multiplied when we Respond to the Oppositions by Paying Attention to the “Coins” implied by their Contradistinctions.  

While the New Moon-Ceres Sextile is short, a few additional Degrees would give us five of the six points of a Grand Sextile (Ease, especially when we take the first step deliberately), with the Vacancy near the Midpoint of Leo.

The implication is that we can Reboot ourselves into an Unlimited Future by moving Assertively toward greater Yintegrity.  If you get stuck, just Ask yourself, What would I do if I had Unquestioned Self-Confidence in this situation?  While we don’t want to broadcast it far and wide, we’re likely to find that our immediate Community will be delighted to Support our casting aside of the Masks we’ve been hiding our True Self behind.  After all, they already know who we Really are, and they’ve been Wondering why we don’t seem to know it!

One last Configuration: a Novile Yod (Pay Close Attention but Don’t Make a Big Deal out of It) points to the North Node (Our Truth) from Uranus (True Self) and Neptune (Our Culture).
