By now we are deep into the 21 February 2022 Initiation of dwarf planet Pholus by dwarf planet Quaoar (Being Fully Responsive to our Survival Instincts, aka Earth Changes),³ the Beginning of a New 225-year Cycle during which we eventually come into Balance with our Fellow Earthlings of all stripes and spots,⁴ from the Mastodons to the Tigers to the Lions Manes to the Lichens to the Mitochondria and Beyond. Or else.

He is the Pattern-Breaker, the Karma–Breaker. 12 reduces to 3, the symbol of The Empress, or Love with Wisdom – Compassion.
• ⁴ Capricorn 8, “In a Sun-lit home domesticated birds sing joyously.”
• The Full Moon Squares the Nodal Axis, at 28 of the Fixed Signs. It’s a Grand Cross (4 planets more or less equally spaced around the Zodiac), which we consider to be a Series of relatively Smallish Hassles that Complement One Another so that the End Result is Just Fine – as Long as We don’t Screw it Up by Intervening to “Fix” any of the Smallish Hassles. A Grand Cross is an Exercise in It Is What It Is, to see if we can Let It Be.

• To spice it up good, the Full Moon Sun in Aquarius Channels (Conjoins) asteroid Damocles (Anxiety), while the North Node (Our Mission in the Lifetime) in Taurus (Materialism) Channels asteroid Ceres (Sustainability) and dwarf planet Sedna (Converting Fear to Power), and the South Node (Our Held Emotions, the Deepest Traumas in our Karma) in Scorpio (Fearlessness) Channels asteroids Karma itself (Our Karma), Atropos (Expired Karma⁵), and Ka epaoka awela (Transcendence). That’s a mouthful.

It means that the Survivability of our Materiality Relies on the Transcendence of our Karma.

• ⁵ Karma does not Grasp Us, We Grasp It. The nature of Karma is that it’s What We Expect, because we’ve been living with it for so many Lifetimes. By definition, it’s Older than “We” are. Well, What We Expect is What We Get, when our Expectations are Unconscious. So even when Karma reaches its Expiry Date, it doesn’t automatically get off our back. We have to Actively Let Go Of It, by making it Conscious, Noticing it when it begins to recur, and Choosing a New Alternative. Any Alternative will do, till we Break the Addiction. Then we can begin Choosing Alternatives that are Self-Supporting rather than Self-Sabotaging.

Asteroid Karma, by the way, left Scorpio and entered Sagittarius yesterday, 18 February (10:50 pm PST), meaning that we’re shifting from The Way Out of Our Karma Is Through, to The Way Out of our Karma Is To Let It Go. Whew! What Timing! Have we ever been Feeling this!

Which brings us to the other Big Deal happening late this month and early next. Venus and Mars normally Convene a new Cycle every year and a half or so. The Current Cycle began in mid-July 2021 in 20 Leo, “Zuni Indians perform a ritual to the Sun: A return to the glorification of natural energies.” The Initiation Celebrates the Transcendence of Karma.⁶

• ⁶ The Initiation Conjoined asteroid Atropos (the Expiration of Karma), and the only Challenge was a naked Square to asteroid Ka epaoka awela (Transcendence). The Initiation Enjoyed a Grand Trine (Great Blessings) with asteroids Eros (Eros) and Veritas (Truth). Veritas Opposed asteroids Klotho (New Beginnings) and Panacea (Healing), and that Opposition made a Grand Cross by Squaring the Opposition from the Sun (Essence) to dwarf planet Hylonome (Codependence) and asteroid Arrowkoth.
• Arrowkoth, meaning Sky or Cloud or Up There, is the name currently given to the iceball that the New Horizons spacecraft perused after it finished checking out Pluto. It was known as Ultima Thule then, meaning Way Out in the Tules, but that name was replaced when it was revealed to have white supremacist connections. In its Discovery chart – it was Discovered at 10 Capricorn, “An Albatross feeding from the hand of a sailor: The overcoming of fear and its rewards” – it Conjoins Pluto (Compulsion) and asteroid Koronis (Coronavirus? ) and Opposes asteroids Moira (Fate and Choice) and Cyllarus (Death). It also includes an intriguing Mutable Grand Cross, which we’ll fill in later.

Well, Venus and Mars Convened again on 16 February in 17 Capricorn (“A repressed woman finds a psychological release in nudism: The escape from bondage to social inhibitions and a reliance on the wisdom of the body”), and they’ll do it again on 6 March in 1 Aquarius (“An old adobe mission in California: The power inherent in all great human works to endure far beyond the workers’ life spans”). What’s going on? At seven months it’s too early for a New Cycle, so why are they Convening now? Turns out it’s the last two thirds of a much-delayed Triple Conjunction, so these two events will fill out and modify the Ritual to the Sun of the actual Initiation. The Current Cycle doesn’t end till 2/22/2024, two years past our 2/22/2022 milestone or millstone.

So, relying only on the Sabian Symbols and not opening the charts yet, Using the Wisdom of the Body to Escape Bondage to Social Limitations in our Relationships and Reversing the Enduring Taint of the Patriarchy in our Relationships that was illustrated by the Genocide of the California Indians by the Spanish now become part of Celebrating the Transcendence of Karma. Bear in mind that the most important Relationship we have is the one with ourself, the one between our own Inner Female and our own Inner Male.

The Inner Female carries our Values. The Inner Male Structures our Life. When in Balance, the Inner Male would Structure Life around the Values carried by the Inner Female. Male Energy on its own would Structure Life around Competition. Female Energy would structure Life around Collaboration. In the Relationship Structures we’ve inherited from Western Social Limitations, and in the Taint of Genocide that’s Endured far beyond the original Patriarchy, it’s the Other Way Around, isn’t it. Male Competition Energy substitutes for our Values, while Collaborative Female Energy is tied up in Service to the Structure of our Day-to-Day Life. Here’s a contrast…

The Karmic Digital Age

Since Karma is Dead, it won’t be a problem that the Digital Age is Karmic, right? Almost enough to make a person subscribe to Retribution…

But no, Karma is Inertia, and do we ever have Inertia! Huge Inertia in government dysfunction, possibly increasing Inertia with apparently more Powerful Mutant Ninja Garudaviruses in the wings in spite of the nascent Vaccines, Inertia with Inequality as the Robber Barons use Virus-Rescue dollars for their own lunch money and worse, far too much Inertia in Global Balming, und so weiter.

The chart for the 21 December 2020 Saturn-Jupiter Initiation, which Initiates the 140-year Digital Age (the span during which the Jupiter-Saturn Conjunctions occur in Air Signs) and especially the next 20 years (the current Jupiter-Saturn Cycle), features only one Big Challenge, and that’s Karma (a T-Square to asteroid Karma from the Opposition between Sedna [Converting Fear to Power] and Juno [Expansion of Consciousness])…

If that’s not enough, asteroid Karma itself is also Strong (Stationary), with Peak Exaggeration on 27 December at 2:30 am PST and two Challenges (T-Squares, the red triangles), one to Our Instincts (the Moon, from the Opposition between asteroid Karma herself and Gonggong [Flushbacks]) that Challenges us to Stay in the Present Moment, and the other to Our Willingness to Break Karmic Habits (asteroid Lachesis, from the Opposition between Jupiter-Saturn itself [the Conscious or Unconscious Decision whether to Contract away from new Energy or to Expand into Embracing it] and the Conjunction of Atropos [Karmic Patterns that have Finished their TimeLine, which our Ego may or may not have Let Go Of] and Varuna [Our Vitality])…

The Conscious or Unconscious Decision whether to Contract away from new Energy or to Expand into Embracing it (Jupiter-Saturn) in the Karma Station chart mirrors the apparent Contradiction between Converting Fear to Power (Sedna) and Expansion of Consciousness (Juno) in the Digital Age Initiation chart. Notice that these are both Either/Ors, which by now we automatically associate with the Observing Mind rather than Observed Reality – right? If we want to deal with Reality we have to Change the Subject and switch from HeadsOrTails to the Coin. Since the Mind mostly does only Either/Or, we have to Intuit the Both/And Coin.

Well, obviously, when we Contract (Saturn) away from Reality, we only drive it into the Unconscious, from where it Controls us from behind the Curtain of our Denial. No Pressure – Denial is our Best Choice when we aren’t Ready to Integrate something into Consciousness. Overwhelm will usually set us back. So at least we can Expand into Embracing (Jupiter) our Contraction. In fact, a Poor Sweetheart might be an ideal Response – “You Poor Sweetheart, you’re really Frightened by that, aren’t you.” If we can then Change the Subject and go about our business without Obsessing on what Frightened us, we may be able to just Manifest the Miracle of Transcending our Fear of the New rather than Denying it.

Chiron is Positively Related (Sextile, two Signs apart, meaning Grace but we have to take the first step) to Jupiter-Saturn, and Chiron is the Unhealable Healer who Connects us to the Wisdom that What Heals is Empathy – hence our Self-Empathy Mantra, You Poor Sweetheart… Like Tapping, it Recognizes the Truth of our Heart and brings various parts of ourself into Alignment, while moving our Assemblage Point or our Identity, the Place Behind our Attention, from WhatAfflictsUs to Compassion.

Notice what Opposes Jupiter-Saturn – Varuna-Atropos (the End of Karmic Limitations to our Vitality). We can carry this directly to the Crapolavirus. Atropos stands for Karmic Patterns that have Finished on their own Accord but which our Ego may not have Let Go Of yet. In other words, the Virus is Optional if we Wish it So. Which means we have to Let Go of our Belief in Disease. Sounds Dangerous, doesn’t it. Sounds like a good way to get Dead. Yes, that’s the Sedna part. If you get stuck on that, Locate your Fear in your Body and focus Intensely on it while doing a hundred Kegels, to Convert the Fear to Power, whenever the Fear arises or returns.

Meanwhile, consider it an Experiment, and don’t Act like a Covidiot. This is like a Placebo – it works best if you Believe in it. And it will work (Jupiter-Saturn is joined by dwarf planet Chariklo [Confidence and Doubt] – Choose the Confidence side). But we’re Playing on the Growing Edge of our Consciousness (asteroid Juno), so we never quite know ahead of time if we’re Ready to Transcend. If your Intuition is working fairly well, Thetas can help you evaluate your Readiness. When we Ask for What We Want, the Universe will either Give it to us directly, or Give us a demonstration of what else we need to Let Go Of in order to become Ready to Receive. Let the Universe stub your toe, instead of Dancing with a Miserable Death.

For folks who don’t Believe in Magic (ie, Choice) – and therefore Karma isn’t Dead for them – Karma still means Cause and Effect. Like Blame, Cause and Effect is a very sticky artifact of the Dualistic “Left” Brain. It’s not Easy to Think in terms other than Cause and Effect, because that’s the way the Observing Brain is wired. If you Allow it, the “Right” Brain – Intuition – can go Directly from Want to Outcome without worrying about Mechanism. For Left-Brainers, the Digital Age’s focus on C&E is good, because it may Allow them to Connect their Beliefs and Behaviors to their Outcomes in spite of their red hats. And there’s a lot of Inertia there which needs to Shift before Mother Gaia can Finish her Trance(Re)formation, though when it’s Ready it can Shift overnight.

When we look more closely, we see that all three Challenges (T-Squares) are Self-Resolving (Diamond Stars – red-triangle T-Square and green-wedge Finger of the Goddess pointing to the same planet). This means that, when the Universe Threatens to Repeat your worst deja vus All Over Again, the Appropriate Response is to Smile to yourself and raise your Energy, while you Recognize that the Universe is a Trickster, and share a Chuckle with Her. She’s giving you another Opportunity to Practice using the Belief and Action that you’ve Chosen to Replace your Obsolete Karmic Pattern, or any Alternative Pattern, so you can Erase through Repetition your old Connections and cement New Patterns into your Flexible and Opportunistic Brain.

Empath and Empathy II

Many of us are Empaths, and Discovering where our own Emotions, Thoughts, and Sensations end and Others’ begin, has been a Lifelong Adventure – and Struggle – and Learning Opportunity for us.  It’s fine to understand that We Are All One Spirit, but trying to use that Ideal (ie, thought) as an operating principle before we’ve Let Go Of enough Held Emotions to be able to Achieve Neutrality and Compassion toward All, just gets us deeper into the Swamp.

My First Teacher taught that it is not possible to Let Go Of Other People’s Feelings in the same way that we need to Let Go Of our own Held Emotions or Karma.  Karma does not Grasp us, we Grasp it, but Other People’s Feelings can Grasp us very Persistently.  That includes Other People’s Expectations of us and Other People’s Goals for us.

We’ve talked many times about Mirrors as our preferred (because it works) tool for Reverting Other People’s Feelings, most fully in Gauntlet VIII – Chiron, https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/2018/04/16/gauntlet-viii-chiron/.  It would be an excellent time to reread or read all of that one, since the major Energy we’re dealing with right now is the 4 July Station of Chiron.

“Close your Eyes and Look around for any Cables, Chains, or Dark Spots, particularly behind you.  One at a time, Gently remove the Barbed Hooks at your end of each Cable or Chain, and hand it back to its Source.  If its Source won’t take it, feed it to an Alligator.  Alligators are very Skilled at this Work.

[If they occasionally bite the hand at the other end of the Cable, that’s an occupational hazard for folks who try to Manipulate Others].

The Chiron Station chart is very complex, but it’s a good time to begin breaking it down into digestible pieces…

The red triangle is called a “T-Square” (if you drew lines from the center of the circle to each of the three planet you’d draw a “T”).  It means a major Challenge to our Expertise at dealing with the planet at the point of the triangle, in this case asteroid Karma.  And yes, asteroid Karma is indeed a symbol for our Karma, so yes, our Expertise at dealing with our Karma – namely our Held Emotions – is being Challenged. 

Karma is what happens to us when we’re Unconscious.  When we’re Conscious of our Karma, it represents moment-to-moment Choices about how to Respond to the exhausting and exhausted repeating Patterns that attempt to govern our Lives, just beyond our Control.  Pick an area of your Life where you’ve been Compelled to try over and over again – and you’re still trying – to “fix” something in your Life that’s not working, where you’ve never been satisfied with the results.

Often that reflects a T-Square in your natal chart, and we always advise folks to Reframe your…

Frustration at never getting it “Right,”

Lifetime Commitment to Learning about this Issue on every possible level, from every possible angle. 

That “Commitment to Learning about the Issue” behind your natal T-Square, is another way of describing your Numinous Compulsion to “Get Conscious of your Karma.”

At least that’s how Jung saw our Unconscious Compulsions.  Other shrinkologists saw them differently, less optimistically, and it’s entirely possible that it’s not so much about Reframing, as it is about different Tribes of people.  Perhaps there’s a Jungian Tribe with Compulsions to Self-Heal, and other Tribes that have Unconscious Compulsions to, say, Shop, or Watch TV, or put Children in cages.  We’re confident though, that anyone reading this is a member of such a Jungian Tribe.

The base of a T-Square informs us about it’s Purpose, here to make our Response to Intrusive Karmic Memories (OR10) Sustainable (Ceres). We don’t just want to Optimize our Response to our Karmic Patterns once, we want to Create the Habit of Optimizing our Response to our Karma (Ceres).

We can also find how to make the T-Square Easier to deal with by looking for “Bridges” across the base (the longer red line).  There are two “Trine Bridges” (blue lines spanning the base), meaning Gifts of Grace…

• Ease of Paying Attention to our Survival Instincts (Saturn-Pholus-Quaoar, near asteroid Karma)
• Ease of Allowing our Soul’s Purpose to Come into Consciousness (Juno-Uranus, nearly Opposite to Karma)

And there are three “Quincunx Bridges” (green lines spanning the T-Square’s base) meaning places where we can Ease the Challenge by maintaining our Curiosity rather than Concluding that we know what’s going on…

• “I Wonder how I can best Trust my Creativity” (Eurydike-Makemake)
• “I Wonder how I might best make Choices that Support my Life Force” (Varuna)
• “I Wonder how I can best Let Go Of Despair” (Moon-Chiron)

Which brings us to the Chiron Station, which is the Fresh Vegetables (aka the “Meat”) in the Energy that we’re dealing with through 4 July.

As we’ve indicated many times, Chiron represents our Unhealable Wounds – that’s how our T-Squares and our Karma Feel to us, since we’ve failed so many times to Resolve them.  But it turns out that there is one thing that Heals the Unhealable, and it’s Empathy.  That’s why we suggest “Poor-Sweethearting” ourself – “You Poor Sweetheart, you’re Feeling Discouraged, aren’t you.”

We’re more likely to be saying to ourself, “I’m Discouraged,” than saying “I Feel Discouraged.”  Those two sentences are like Night and Day, because you’re talking about your Identity – “I AM Discouraged” versus “I AM Feeling (Discouraged).”  That in itself is a huge step out of Discouragement, even though what you’re Feeling may still be Discouraged.  When you “Poor-Sweetheart” yourself, though, your Identity moves to “I AM Compassion (for the Discouragement I was Feeling).”

Just as “You can’t really Love Another till you Love Yourself,” you can’t really have Compassion for Another till you have Compassion for Yourself.  Duterte notwithstanding, if there is an Overriding Purpose for Huperity, at least from the Perspective of the Jungian Tribe, it’s to Develop Compassion for All Things.  Which isn’t too far from the concept of 5D.
