Every time I read these kinds of suggestions my Skeptic quietly says “It’s really the Lizards saying this, to keep you from Resisting them.”  I’ve told the story before of how, when I saw the movie The Corporation about fifteen years ago, my thoughts were all “Oh shit, we have to go back the the Trenches and Barricades again.”  Then I walked out, and as I did I could feel the Planet Breathing, the sidewalk subtly rising and falling as I walked.  In a drainage pit I saw out of the corner of my eye a seven-foot green Being who clearly sent the message that “No, we have to Meditate our way out of this.”

But the Real impact right now, in the current Sedna-Lilith Yin Gate about Recovering our Self-Sovereignty by Bringing our Unconscious Fears into Consciousness, is that what I’m calling “my Skeptic” is really an Unconscious Fear of being duped.  In a Both/And World, that Skeptic on my shoulder has a Tail, not Wings.  As long as I call that voice my Skeptic, the Fear is Unconscious.  Once I see it as a Fear, it becomes Semi-Conscious.  This Energy is very subtle, so moving it from Semi-Conscious to fully Conscious is tricky.  

When I try “You poor Sweetheart, you’re Scared, aren’t you,” the Inner Response is Denial, as the Energy steps back into the Shadows.  So I try a PIAVA ( https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/category/manifestation/piava/ ), our reliable process for interacting directly with the Unconscious – “Ganeshi My Love, please Remove All Obstacles to my Safety and True Guidance.”  Then I realize that my Fear of being duped is a Fear of looking like a Fool.  So I try “You poor Sweetheart, you’re really Proud, aren’t you,” and the little devil puffs up and struts about on my shoulder.  

I get a more Honest Response when I try “You poor Sweetheart, you’re really Scared of looking like a Fool, aren’t you.”  He says “Well, yeah!” and sits down on my shoulder to chat.  He has no Shame about it at all.  Progress.  Not sure what to say, after a pause I say to him, “Hi Honey,” give him a hug, and it occurs to me to Thank him for Keeping me Safe from Humiliation all these past years during which Humiliation would put me into Shame and destroy my Self-Confidence, often for years at a time.  The Energy Surges up my Spine.  Bingo.

Despair New Moon

In addition to being a Serpent and Hope Moon (previous posts), the 27 January New Moon (4pm PST) will also go a long ways toward Healing our Despair.

The Lachesis New Moon is Octile to Venus-Chiron on one side, Octile to Saturn-Ixion on the other side, and Trioctile to Chaos-Atropos.  If you drew that out you’d see that Venus-Chiron is at the peak of a T-Square, Square to both Saturn-Ixion and Chaos-Atropos.

As Recovering our Forbidden Genius becomes The Most Important Thing, and we begin to see the glimmer on the horizon of our Brilliant, Gorgeous, Talented and Fabulous Self, we will be Confronting Values that Limit us.  It we Trust those Values we sink into Despair, because there is No Exit for us.  When we come up against what seems to be a Value, it’s Important to Ask whether the Value springs from our mind, our Gut, or our Heart.

A Value that comes to us through the mind will be an Either/Or.  A “Good Girls and Boys don’t do that.”  That’s Morality, and it’s easy to mistake for Values.  But as we’ve averred many times, Either/Ors are always Political.  A Culture, and especially a Culture masquerading as a Religion, will try to enforce some form of conformity, and educating its children to “proper” behavior is a big part of that.  Morality keeps us in Judgment, Xenophobia, and Defensiveness.  It Divides, it does not Unite.

So if you feel Psychic Pressure to Act contrary to what you always thought of as a governing Value, that can easily create Despair.  Look to see if your Value is an Either/Or.  If it is, try readjusting your Standards so that you Expect yourself to follow that rule on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and Experiment with other rules or variations on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  After a couple of months you can re-evaluate.

A Value that comes to us through the Gut is probably a Defense.  As a Defense, it may not be Present-Moment.  It will always alert you to situations that are similar to situations where you have been Hurt or Abused in the Past, whether or not the current situation is as dangerous.  Proceed Cautiously, constantly Evaluating as you go.  Ask yourself “Am I still Safe?”  “Am I still Safe?”  every several minutes.  Always know where the exit is, where there are Safe people who would Intimidate a Predator just by virtue of numbers.

A process such as this will bring your Gut Value up into Consciousness, where you can make Moment-to-Moment Decisions whether to Trust it or Stretch yourself.  Safety First – don’t try to Stretch much beyond your Comfort Zone without a thorough review of your Safety and the Reliability of your backup troops.  If there’s a Conflict between a Gut Value and Psychic Pressure to Act or Express differently, you want to ease into the space between.

A Value that comes to us through the Heart is likely to be an expression of your Soul Self.  There is always ambiguity, but a fairly Reliable indicator is that you always tear up when you see someone Expressing or Following your Value.  I read a story today about a senior living facility in Europe where six college students were given free rent to live there, to provide “fresh blood” and variety for the residents and educate the students in Empathy and Compassion (and Realism!), and I teared up reading it.  Why?  What is my Value there?

I believe it’s Community, Cooperation, Collaboration.  Of course it could just be a Contradiction to my Abandonment.  My Abandonment says that Collaboration is a pipe dream that will never endure.  If my Abandonment remains largely Unconscious, and I reach for too much Collaboration or step into it before my Abandonment becomes more Conscious, my Fears will come True – we See what we Believe.  I may not be Abandoned, I may instead come up hard against my Suffocation – and Abandon myself.

The T-Square tells us that the Contrast between the place where there are No Edges, No Boundaries, and the place where our Forbidden Genius dwells, is likely to be Acted out through Despair about how our “Values” – True or otherwise – trap us into being Unable and Unwilling to Follow Our Joy.

The problem is that our Values, whether True or not, will inevitably be interpreted as Either/Ors, and Stop us from moving into Higher Frequencies.  That’s exactly the nature of our Forbidden Genius.  Ask yourself…

What is it I Want above all else, regardless of consequences?

What is it that Stops me from Pursuing it?

You’re probably up against your Highest Values on one side of that equation, and perhaps up against your Fear or Inadequacy or Shame or Abandonment (or all of the above) on the other side.  Recognize that these are Intellectualizations of the World, not the Reality of the World.  

There are almost certain to be many people who Enjoy What You Want above all else, without giving it a second thought.  They run a different Frequency than you do.  They probably have the same kinds of Limitations as you in other areas of their Lives.  If someone does it, you can.  How?

When I come to a fork in the road on a road trip and I’m not sure which fork I want to take, I often set my mind aside and let my hands on the steering wheel make the Decision.  It may take some practice, but if you can get your Either/Or mind out of the Conflict you may be able to Allow some portion of What You Want to Descend (or Ascend) into your Life.  

This probably won’t be foolproof, as your Values will probably continue to Stop you before you Allow your Wants to Manifest.  But it may well start to break up the icejam between your Wants and your Values.  At least it’s likely to Create a Space where you have Experienced the Feelings that you Anticipate Feeling when your Wants are Achieved.  The more often you do that, the closer you are to Manifesting What You Really Want.

Another strategy is Yes-And.  Imagine moving toward What You Want, and when you hear the Yes-Buts interceding, Change them to Yes-Ands.  Yes, But what would my Mother say?  Switch that to Yes, And what would my Mother say?  You may realize that your Future could evolve in ways you never suspected were possible.  Instead of Betraying someone’s Trust you may find yourself Enjoying a Fantasy of What You Want without Betraying their Trust.  At the least, the exercise may loosen up the Boundary between the Forbidden and the Possible, between the Unconscious and Consciousness.

The full Configuration is a Trioctile Fez – two Squares separated by an Octile on one end and a Trioctile on the other, with Trioctiles for the diagonals.  A Trioctile implies a Beneficent Adjustment, so even though we’re dealing with two Challenges, they mutually encourage our Mastery of both.  

The corners of the Trioctile Fez here are the Lachesis New Moon, Pandora, Chaos-Atropos, and Venus-Chiron, which creates two Mjolnirs, one pointing at Pandora and the other at Chaos-Atropos.  A Mjolnir signifies Insight, Epiphany.  Insights about our Hope for Transcending our 3D Limitations and Ascending into Miracles.

Hope New Moon

In addition to being a Serpent Moon (previous post), the 27 January New Moon (4pm PST) is also very much about Intuition, Boundary and Belief adjustments, and Hope.

It’s a complicated Pattern.  The New Moon is at 9 Degrees (of Aquarius), in a Major Tricolor Square to asteroid Pandora (Hope) and Trine to Centaur Asbolus (Intuition) and asteroid Veritas (Truth).  But the Big Event is the Asbolus-Veritas Diamond Star.  

A Diamond Star consists of a T-Square and a Finger of God both Pointing at the same planet.  It’s considered great because the two planets in the base of the Finger form a Truss Bridge across the base of the T-Square, which serves as a “Bowl of Grace” under the T-Square.  So the Challenge of the T-Square will be much muted by the Trines and Sextiles of the Bridge.

The Opposition at the base of the T-Square is between Orcus (Making and Breaking Oaths) and Pallas-Neptune.  Neptune symbolizes our Relationship with everything larger than ourself, so Pallas-Neptune implies Adjustments to our Boundaries with our Culture and to our Relationship with Spirit.  With Orcus involved, these Boundary Adjustments will involve our Limiting Unconscious Beliefs, and probably Ego Death, as we’re Asked to Give Up long-held Beliefs about what is Safe and what isn’t.

So the T-Square will Challenge us to Trust the Truth of our Intuition more than we Trust the Truth of our Emotional Reactions.  Our Intuitions will be based in our Soul, while our Emotions will be based in our Karma, as their source will be now-Obsolete Oaths we made to Protect ourself from Abuse.  Staring down those strong Keeping-Us-Alive Emotions will constitute difficult Emotional Challenges.

The Sextile at the base of the Finger of God connects asteroid Pandora (Hope) with Centaurs Hylonome (Merging, Demerging, Grief) and Chariklo (Walking in Beauty).

Living our Lives out of Protection from Abuse requires a certain posture, where Pride is probably involved, as we Stiffen our Spine and harden our Shell against our Fear of Abuse.  We’ve Learned that Projecting Fear is a loud invitation to more Abuse, so we ossify our Outrage into Pride.  It’s a Big Step from there to the sort of Soft-Belly Vulnerability that Stephen Levine talks about and which correlates with Dropping our Masks.

We can Walk in Beauty from the posture of Pride and Outrage, but the sort of Walking in Beauty that we’ll do from the posture of Soft Belly will be very different.  Soft Belly is likely to Feel very scary and, initially, very wrong.  It will be Important not to be naive or incautious about it.  We don’t want to wander innocently into situations where Abuse will ambush us when we’re most Vulnerable but not Expecting Abuse, as that will re-Traumatize us and potentially reverse our Growth in Consciousness. 

We want to gradually and Consciously ease into Soft Belly, Opening to it when we know we’ll be Safe, and reverting to Stiff Spine and Tight Belly in situations where we may not be Safe.

Ultimately, it’s not so much Soft Belly that’s our Objective; it’s Conscious Choice.  We want to be able to Choose, Moment to Moment, whichever posture is Safest and most appropriate for the situation, and as we Learn, develop many intermediate postures.

We’ve been operating from the posture of Defense for so long that it’s now largely Unconscious.  As we Decide to step into Vulnerability (which will probably be much helped by PIAVAs, as we’ll be breaking long-held Habits), we’re Newborn.  We’ll Regress to the age we were prior to the historical Abuse that froze us into Stiff Spine, and in the Regression process we Lose Access to the Skills we Learned since, including all of our Adult Skills.  So we want to practice Vulnerability with Safe friends who are willing and able to nursemaid us, before we naively take it to work with us.

The Saving Grace here is Hope.  

Pandora opened the jar and let all manner of “Evil” out into the World.  From the Patriarchy’s Perspective, this was not at all Good, and another indictment of the Feminine.  But we know that what is Unconscious rules us without our Knowledge, while bringing it our into Consciousness offers us Free Choice – usually after an intervening Ego Death and considerable Adjustment to our Timeline.  So moving this nasty material into the Open is actually a tremendous boon for us!  And what was left at the bottom of Pandora’s jar after all the Demons had escaped?  

Hope.

As we Open to our Vulnerable Infant Self, we have no idea where this new Journey will take us.  We’re likely to be spaced out enough that we can avoid getting lost in the Fear that this Rebirth will evolve in the same Abusive directions as the earlier one.  I’ve always thought that Hope was a poor substitute for Confidence, but it’s a fine replacement for Hopelessness!

Isn’t this intriguing, as we near the end of our Lilith-Sedna Yin Gate.  Lilith was the original Female Huper, who in search of Self-Sovereignty left Adam before he and his Rib allowed the Serpent to Apple them.  The Yin Gate is about accepting the Paradox that we must Embrace our Fears (Sedna) to attain our Sovereignty.  Lilley continues (hmm, Lilley, Lilith, curious)…

“In the Judeo-Christian creation myth the snake is portrayed as the evil tempter and seducer, the very personification of deception and intrigue, premeditating and perpetrating the downfall of mankind.  Aptly it is coiled round the Tree of Knowledge, or of Intellect, and induces Adam, via Eve, to partake of the fruit and lose his innocence – the innocence of instinctive, animal existence that keeps the urges and impulses within the bounds of natural restraint and in harmony with life’s laws.  

“This is symbolic of mankind attaining that level of intellectual and emotional capacity which permits ‘freedom of choice’ and custodianship of the conscience, a release, unfolding and responsibility which were bound to bring conceit and conflict.

Of course, the “subject who requires this wonderful remedy” is our Planet, Cultures, and Identities at this point in Linear Time.

“The venom from which the remedy is prepared is immensely powerful and destructive and those who require it are proportionately of an intense and passionate nature.  The Lachesis individual is ever in danger of being possessed by passions and feelings.  They are aware of the struggle within them, their labile emotions and thoughts and their unpredictability.  

“At times they feel at the mercy of their emotions, torn between the promptings of their heart and their head, between their thoughts and feelings and between desire and guilt.  If they are unable to indulge their passions or sublimate their emotions through creative release, they will have to repress them and the price is emotional or physical ill-health.

“The snake in movement is a miracle to behold.  Without legs to propel it the creature flows effortlessly along, like a shining rivulet – sinuous and silent.  The entire energy of the snake is manifested in fluidity and flow.  In the course of evolution the snake withdrew its limbs to attain flow.  Its venom contains enzymes, which dissolve and digest the tissues of its prey, causing what was firm and solid to break down into a fluid form, which can flow.  Flow is intrinsic to the snake and this is equally true of the Lachesis person.  In any condition where suppression of flow or function predominates, be it emotional, intellectual or physiological, Lachesis may be indicated.”

“The snake has always been recognised as a sexual or phallic symbol, implying a strong sexuality and a powerful libido or sex drive.  The sexual energy is the most fundamental energy of Lachesis and its power lies behind the intensity, the turbulent passion and the creative genius of the archetype.  It must find expression sexually, creatively, religiously or spiritually.  It may not be suppressed.”

“The sexuality is always coiled and ready to strike. Many will say that if their sex life is good, life is good.  It is part of the flow so essential to snake life; it relieves tension and stress.  The female particularly brings to a relationship a passionate romanticism and ardour, which enriches it.  She is conscious of her sexuality and its power and uses it.  She moves with serpentine grace and is able to charge the simplest action with sexual energy.”

Both the asteroid and the Bushmaster were named after the Mythological Lachesis, one of the three Fates, she who alotted the Length of Life – which we interpret as the Longevity of an Egoic Identity, since that is what we actually Experience as “Life.”  We of course, are very recently Reborn, as dwarf planet Haumea, symbolizing Rebirth, has been greatly magnified for the last several weeks.

It’s important to remember that Fate and Free Will, like all Dualities, are properties of the Observing Either/Or Mind, not properties of the Observed Both/And Universe.

There are actually four asteroids named after the Fates – Klotho who cuts the fabric of a Life, Lachesis who measures its Length, Atropos who cuts the chord when Time is up, and Moira whose name collectively symbolizes all three aspects of Fate.  And all four of these asteroids are Lit Up during this New Moon, and by extension, during the next several weeks.  If you told someone that we are entering a Fateful Month, you’d be quite correct.

Moira herself – Fate per se – is very busy flushing out all our Memories of being trapped on the Victim side of the Abuse/Privilege Coin.  This is not a Coin you want to be on either side of, actually, because Privilege is the flip side of Abuse, and the Unconscious (which, lest we forget, happens to run the show here) recognizes only Dimension, not Direction.  In other words, Victim and Perp are the same Energy, just witnessed from different angles.  We’d prefer to be off that Dimension entirely.  Avenging our Victim just makes us Victim of our own Perp.

Asteroid Moira sits in a Stellium with Nessus (Abuse and Privilege), OR10 (Irruption of Unconscious Contents), and the South Node (our Karmic Archetypes and Forbidden Emotions), Opposing the Royal Star Regulus.  The four Royal Stars all symbolized Successful Endeavors but for a downfall, each Star having its own Curse.  Regulus symbolizes Success as long as one avoids Revenge.

Asteroid Klotho, who weaves the fabric of Life, is just behind the curtain, about to enter Act Two of our Yin Gate, where Lilith/Self-Sovereignty is replaced by Sappho/Self-Love Conjoining Klotho.  Having achieved Self-Sovereignty by Being Fully Responsible to our Unconscious Fears, we’re about to assemble a whole new Timeline, or Ego-Lifetime, founded in Self-Love.

And asteroid Atropos, mistress of Endings, Conjoins dwarf planet Chaos.  Chaos, recall, represents Unlimited Potential, and Dances with our Forbidden Genius in the Golden Rectangle, promising the Sky when we fully Embrace our Uniqueness.  We explained the ongoing Golden Rectangle in https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/2017/01/19/january-week-3-end-big-doins/ (and many earlier posts).  We interpret this Atropos-Chaos Conjunction as an End to our Limits, or Reconsideration of what we thought was Impossible.

January Week 3 End – Big Doin’s

Whew, made it through the Ixion-Juno Initiation last night, but not without Tapping and Thetaing and Poor-Sweethearting for most of the night.  Our next Big Event is a Station of dwarf planet Haumea, 4am PST 22 January.  Haumea is Pele’s daughter, symbolizing Rebirth – by Fire!  It’s been within one Degree of Sensitivity to this Station since early November, so it’s a big part of what we’ve been Experiencing, as we’ve been trying to get as many of our Unconscious Masters (Archetypes, Karma, and Unfinished Business, O My) wrestled to the Ground so we can get Reborn as Cleanly as possible.

Now that “everything else” Big has gone under the bridge, the Rebirth part takes Center Stage.  Well, almost.  The Reality Show is still about

Bringing our Unconscious Fears Up Into Our Awareness in Order to Reclaim our Self-Sovereignty

for another week or so.  So this Rebirth is kind of a Mid-term in some ways.

By 1 February we’re firmly engaged in Rebuilding a New Timeline or Ego-Lifetime that’s based on Self-Love.

So a Laser Focus on Noticing any Self-Judgment for the next 7-10 days will pay big dividends.

Self-Judgment includes any Values you have that are Moral, or based on Either/Ors.  As Alan Watts informed us,

It’s Harder to Let Go of Good Karma than it is to Let Go of Bad Karma.

And we need to jettison both if we’re going to be able to approximate Self-Love.

Our Self-Love needs to be Unconditional.

It’s more than fine to have Standards of Behavior, and above all to treat the other Sentient Beings around us with Respect.  But our Self-Love needs to be Unconditional.

If we betray our own Standards of Behavior, or fail to treat the other Sentient Beings around us with Respect, we Make Amends and move on.  If we’re in the Habit of indulging Guilt or Remorse or the like (or having a big Reaction when others fail to treat us with Respect, which is just a Mirror for our own Lack of Self-Love), then we need to Change that Habit to Tapping it Out asap so we can get on with the Critically Important Work we’re doing Rebirthing the Planet one Psyche at a time (our own).  What was that Meditation threshold that squelched Crime?  One Percent of the Neighbors Meditating?

There’s a Catch here.  Two days after Haumea’s Station, asteroid Hopi Stations.  Hopi is about Respect for all Things.  Those Sentient Beings we have to Respect?  They don’t just include folks who look like you (regardless of Color).  They include Critters and Plants and Rocks and Dirt and Planets and Stars and anything that your mind is able to Separate from the Background Noise and assign a word to.  Oh, and the Background Noise is Sentient too, especially the Background Noise.  That’s the Unconscious, Master over most of our Behavior, thought, Emotion, and even our Physiology.

So we can say that again now, with the context more clear: It’s more than fine to have Standards of Behavior, and above all to treat the other Sentient Beings around us with Respect.

But our Self-Love needs to be Unconditional.  How will we every Learn to Love our Pathological Genius otherwise?

Saturn, The Most Important Thing, is only three weeks and less than two Degrees away from being Initiated by Ixion, our Forbidden Genius.  

Meanwhile, the Great Amplifier Jupiter is only two weeks and a third of a Degree shy of its Station, and less than two Degrees from Haumea.  In other words this isn’t any ordinary Molt of our Identity exoskeleton (Haumea is Stationary twice a year after all), but a Big Rebirth.  And you might notice that Sedna, our Emissary of Fear as a Gift Reminder to Embrace ourself, is Stationary along with Jupiter.

So we have a Choice here.  We can be Reborn into Big Fear, or we can be Reborn into Big Love.  We Choose the latter by hunting down our Unconscious Fear with a Searching and Fearless Inventory, then Loving our Fear into Submission.

It’s a safe bet that most or all of our Judgments have their roots embedded deep in Fear.  So if you aren’t Scared this week and next, start Examining your Judgments.  What Unconscious Fears stand behind those?  That includes our “positive” Moral Judgments – “I’m Good because I…” – what Fears stand behind those?  What would happen if you chose Yintegrity  or Self-Trust instead of “Good”?

This is what we took Birth for, and why the Planet is so overpopulated with Beings wanting in on the Action.

In case you’ve lost the bigger plot, Jupiter-Haumea is one corner of the Forbidden-Genius-Recovery Golden Rectangle that encloses our Sedna-Lilith Recovering-Self-Sovereignty-by-Embracing-our-Fear Yin Gate, which is about to morph into a Building-a-New-Lifetime-Based-on-Self-Love Yin Gate.  And of course the huge Yintegrity work we’ve been doing since Time As We Know It Ended in 2012, is another corner of the Golden Rectangle.

Forbidden Genius (January Week 3 Middle 2)

When we Allow ourself to be Forbidden to access or express an important part of our True Self, we are severely handicapped in the Life.  This can be true even if it is not our True Self that is Forbidden but an important part of our Karmic Self, such as a Limitation which we have Vowed to Clear in the Lifetime.  This can happen to us when we are in a position of relative Powerlessness, as Children for instance, or as a Victim of a Repressive Culture in a “Past” Lifetime or the current one, or as a Victim of other sorts of Habituation such as a Relationship where our primary role is as a Pleaser.  Often repressive Rules are enforced by the threat of Death, so our “Choice” whether to Allow ourselves to be Repressed Feels very Limited.

So it is with our Abandoned Genius, our Forbidden Genius.  We first introduced this Concept, as an interpretation of dwarf planet Ixion (which Dances with the Edges of our Consciousness today, as it has been doing for several days or weeks now depending on our Sensitivity), as our Pathological Genius.  But what’s Pathological is Culturally defined.  What was Pathological in ancient Rome would be very different from what was Pathological to Tyrannosaurus rex.  What’s important is that some Valuable part of ourself has been Forbidden.

The Initiation of Jun0 (the Edges of Consciousness) by Ixion (our Forbidden Genius) is confounded by an almost-simultaneous Mars-Saturn Square, so…

We are likely to Experience additional Stress today between Conformity and Rebellion, relative to what has been Forbidden.  This will make Life more difficult today, but if we PIAVA to use the Energy to gather clues about how we might Embrace our Forbidden Genius in relative Safety, it can provide very valuable Insight.

The Ixion-Juno Initiation occurs at 26 Sagittarius, “A flag bearer in a battle,” so we are also likely to Feel it as a blow to our current Ego (flag as a symbol for Identity), ie, an Ego Death.  That’s very close to the Galactic Center, so there is ample Power available here if we’re Willing and Able to use it.

Be watchful today for Confusion.  We all have Habitual reactions to Confusion.  Mine is Anger; when I start to get Confused I usually slip into Anger before I even realize I’m Confused.  We can use today as a powerful training in detecting the Confusion before it is replaced with another Emotion, because Ego Growth and Rebirth is not Possible without Confusion.  If we can stay in the Confusion, we can Allow our Ego Death to occur relatively Peacefully, and avoid Repressing it and cementing an obsolete Self-Sabotaging Ego structure more firmly in place.

The Mars-Saturn Square is Waxing, and a Waxing Square is where a Cycle irrupts into Consciousness.  This Cycle Initiated in late August 2016 at Sagittarius 10, “A theatrical representation of a golden-haired goddess of opportunity.”  A Mars-Saturn Cycle in itself is about how we Actively Implement what is Most Important.  It’s not about PIAVAing anything, but about vigorously Advancing or Defending it as a Conscious Manifestation in the Physical realm.

The Degree does however suggest PIAVA as it’s a Goddess, so we may need to bring both our Dynamic Male PDSA and our Magnetic Female PIAVA Creative Energies into the campaign.  We need to be conscious that it’s a theatrical representation and not the Real Thing, so we need to be mindful to distinguish between the Map and the Landscape.  Are we drawing a Map or Plan here, or are we revving up the backhoe?  There is Gold involved, so the backhoe might be what we need, if the Gold is buried.  (Don’t forget to “Call First before digging.”)

The keyword is Opportunity.  An Opportunity to Open the Vault where our Golden Genius is buried, if we can finesse the Frustration (Mars-Saturn) that guards the door.  When we’re dealing with Opening the Unconscious and retrieving the Jewels it’s important that we don’t wake Smaug.  Or fall asleep ourself in the middle of the process.  A Habit of getting distracted by Frustration – the equivalent of falling asleep to our Goal – is enough to screw up the whole Adventure.  

The Ego is a Trickster.  It’s function is to keep us Alive to “fight” another day, and it has so many tools at its disposal, including a hundred heavy and enthralling Emotional states, in addition to its huge arsenal of Thoughtstorms.  When it combines both in one campaign, which it often does, it takes our utmost Concentration to get through the Ring-Pass-Not Vortex.  Distraction is Ego’s middle name.  As a creature of Habit, it distrusts the Unknown and will Defend the Known, literally to its Ego-Death, whether the Known still works or not.

The sense of “I’d rather Die than go through that again,” or “It Feels like I’m Dying” (which is literally true, but with emphasis on the “I” – Ego – rather than on the “Dying”) is one of its strongest weapons, its “nuclear option.”  

Watch for the Confusion, and Embrace it as quickly as you can, before it gets away.  Then hold onto Confusion “for Dear Life.”  Learn to Enjoy and Celebrate Confusion.  Laser Focus on Opportunity is as good an interpretation for Mars-Saturn as any other, and the Opportunity here is to make a big step toward Recovering our Forbidden Genius and Opening Up our Life to Grace and Ease.

The Opportunity here to eliminate Self-Sabotage is immense.  Don’t forget that Embracing All of our Hidden Fears is one of the prerequisites and another amazing Opportunity available to us at this time.  If you’re Scared but you aren’t sure why – Congratulations!  That’s Confusion.

January, Week 3, Middle

We should be past the big jump in Fear, as the Aletheia (Truth, who’s camping with Fearsome Sedna) Station was twelve hours ago.  But Fear’s still running around loose at my house.  Carryover?  Or the first wave of what’s next?  What Is next?  

On 18 January the Moon Dances with Uranus (the Soul Self) and Eris (Revelation) and Jupiter (Amplification), but compared to what we’ve been through already, that’s pretty routine.  Just more Masks falling away, we’ve been doing that for almost five years now.  And besides, you’ve never minded being naked in public, have you?

This 19 January business could be the culprit – Ixion (our Abandoned Genius) Initiating (Starting a new Cycle with) Juno (the Edges of Consciousness).  This implies a major rend in the Wall between the Safety of our existing Identity and the untamed wilderness of the Unconscious, so it would make sense if our Identity was running Scared.  That’d be like Tweetybird having a big hole in his cage while Sylvester was about, if Tweety was prone to Freakouts.

And then Haumea (Rebirth) is Stationary on 22 January, so we’re undoubtedly Feeling that already.  A Rebirth is a Molt, so our old exoskeleton (ie, Identity) has to come off in the process.  So yes, our Olde Identity will be looking over a crumbling Edge into the Abyss.  That can be Disconcerting.  We don’t really have the Option of backing away from the Precipice.

And these, of course – Uranus, Ixion/Juno, Haumea – are three of the four corners of our Abandoned-Genius-Recovery Golden Rectangle, which is the cage that contains our Sedna-Lilith Yin Gate.  So this week we’re doing a lot of ancillary homework.  Our major task is still Getting Honest with Ourself about Embracing as many of our Unconscious Fears as we Can (Sedna-Aletheia) in order to Increase our Self-Sovereignty (Lilith).

Our Unique Genius is “Out There,” Risky, Perverse by your Culture’s Normal Standards of Conformity, a Rebel.  If She wasn’t, there’d have been no reason to have to Abandon Her in the first place, and if She’s going to Change the World She’s going to have to Innovate, which will threaten the many Defenders of the Status Quo.  

That means we’re going to have to put our Pleaser in the back room for a while, and you know what that means.  If we aren’t Pleasing people we’re probably going to be Angering them, and they’ll either beat us to a pulp or Abandon us, and we aren’t sure which is worse.  That’s Scary.

January, Week 3, Start 2B – Capulus and Algol

Well, I didn’t mean to imply that the mind is a parasite, but that it has a parasite.  That’s the Gnostic and Mystery School perspective, and I do feel it has some merit personally.  To judge a parasite isn’t helpful either, but if one is unaware that it’s even there, well, that’s playing a bit with a stacked deck, isn’t it?

The proverbial rabbit hole does go deep, eh?  Thanks for this fantastic turnaround on the question I posed.  Awesome!

As they say, “we always teach what we need to learn” – so I usually come down hard on mind – on Idealism/Morality which is mindstuff and not Heartstuff, and on Dogmas like Scientism (the notion that our version of the Story is right and all else is wrong) and other forms of Fundamentalism like Religions (a Fundamentalist is someone who takes their metaphors literally), which are basically just Bullying and Conformism.  

In Truth it’s all about Balance.  There may be more folks on the Planet who are lost in Bellystuff – Emotion – than are lost in mindstuff, but Balancing overmind is just “my thing.”

Your comment “To judge a parasite isn’t helpful either, but if one is unaware that it’s even there, well, that’s playing a bit with a stacked deck, isn’t it?” is an excellent description of what we’ve been referring to as our Archetypes – Constellations of Energy, mental and Emotional, largely impersonal, that have taken over our Personal link to the Unconscious, and which direct our Lives from outside of our Awareness.

Yes, parasitic autonomous superpersonal Energy Constellations, easily and usefully Personified.  (As long as one takes the next step – Step 1 is Personification, Step 2 is Embracing our Fear of the Personified.)  “Removing our Masks” is only a surficial Mirror for the process of bringing our Archetypes up into Consciousness where we can detach from them.

Right now the Sedna-Aletheia-Lilith *Yin Gate* is offering us the Opportunity to Shed our Fear Archetypes, Lit Up as we speak by the Station of asteroid Aletheia (symbolizing Truth) tomorrow (17 January 5am PST), which by the way, along with Sedna, is Channeling the Star Capulus (Taurus 25-26) for us.  Bernadette Brady (Brady’s Book of Fixed Stars, p.193) says…

“A meaning for this star which may be more accurate than the above [a story about Roman soldiers and acuity of eyesight] could be male sexual energy: focused, direct, penetrating action – a male to complement Algol: focused and passionate, and therefore at times brutal and violent.”

Not to mention the Initiation of Mars by Chiron in a few hours!

Thanks for bringing all this up!  I hadn’t noticed till now that Sedna has been Transiting across Capulus.  That will bring up all of our Fears about being Crushed or Abandoned by the Patriarchy, as Genia Haddon (Body Metaphors, eg) points out that the Yang male Energy of the Patriarchy is exactly this – “focused, direct, penetrating,” Bullying.  An excellent and concise astrological correlate for the Healing Crisis or Final (we hope) Excess of the Patriarchal scourge.

Which is a bit of a Cosmic joke, since Sedna will Dance across Algol next, and soon.  Capulus was the sword of Perseus, but Algol was the Eye of Medusa, whom he beheaded.  Bernadette again, p.188-9…

“Algol was called … by the Arabs … the Head of the Demon, and they considered this female demon to be the wife of the devil…  The Chinese … meaning [was] Piled Up Corpses.  In Talmudic Law she is the first wife of Adam, Lilith, who left him because she refused to be submissive to his needs.  Lilith then fled to paradise and became a demon of the wind [air, mind].”

“Algol, in other words, is the wild, raw, frightening face of the outraged feminine which has been labeled as demonic or simply evil.  This star seems to contain immense female passion and power [aka Brilliance, Gorgeousness, Talent, and Fabulosity].  It is the power of the feminine or the potential power of Mother Nature, not to be called evil for being strong.  It is the companion star to the nebula Capulus, also in [the constellation] Perseus, which is the male version of this outrage.”

Algol as Lilith!  Lilith who in one of her astrological guises Opposes Aletheia and Sedna as the Central Teaching of our current Yin Gate (Mystery School, in the Greek sense of Introduction to Paradox – bearing in mind that I know nothing of Gnosticism) that bisects the Saturn-Ixion-Chaos-Uranus-Eris-Jupiter-Haumea et al Abandoned-Genius-Yintegrity-Rebirth Golden Rectangle!

Incredible, this Story just keeps getting more and more “Biblical” in scale.  And it would suggest that there’s little randomness in the thoughtstorms we encounter!  It also suggests that, while our Fear of the Arbitrary Power of the new Emperor may threaten to Overwhelm, the Arbitrary Power of the Feminine will soon put that to shame, whether by some demonstration of human Feminine Power, or by Mother Nature herself.

And suggests that in order to approach Haddon’s Yang Female Age that she expects will follow the Patriarchy, we need to bring into Consciousness our Archetypal Fear of Bullying by both Male and Female Energies.

And yes, *Personifying* our Archetypes (as Parasites for instance) is an age-old technique for bringing them into Consciousness, exactly why folks have been designing “Gods and Goddesses” – and all manor of “Demons” and Lilin – since Time Immemorial.
