Portal 13-14.6 – Scorpio and Virgo

Sagittarius and Scorpio.  Believe it or not, the Sagittarian Wisps are actually Crystals, of Natrolite, sitting on a more recognizable Crystal, Scorpionic Apophyllite.  Nevertheless, things are still not what they seem to be.  The recognizable Crystal is actually a Mica, Apophyllite, even though it looks nothing like a Mica.  And the Wisps are actually a Zeolite, even though they look nothing like any we’d recognize.  A Zeolite is a complex Mineral with pockets.  You wouldn’t think there’d be room in those Wisps for a pocket, let along a complex Mineral.  If you get the right Zeolite, you can dump it into a toxic mess, and the Zeolite will pocket the toxins and bring them out!  I know, She is truly amazing, especially when we forget She’s a Living Entity with many orders of magnitude more cleverness than we’ll ever dream of mustering!

Apophyllite (Potassium Calcium Fluoride Mica) is about Opening our Third Eye, appropriate for Getting to the Bottom of Things.  Green Apophyllite brings Compassion into our Intuition.  As we like to say, Apophyllite was used for Divining by the twelve Apophylls.  Natrolite (Sodium Aluminum Zeolite) is about Opening the Crown Chakra, appropriate for Letting Go of what Limits us.  Like much of the loveliest Apophyllite, this one comes from near Pune, India, a center for many different flavors of Spiritual pursuit.

Friday the 13th falls on a Saturday this month, as Pogo used to say.  Whatever you’re Grieving, Trust that it was not planning to be part of the next phase of this Gaia-Pi Adventure.  We’re in the process now of Co-Creating what we need for the next phase.

• Saturn backs into Scorpio (Did we leave any Emotional Stones unturned?)
• The Moon Occults Mercury (Beginner’s Mind) at 5 Gemini (“A revolutionary magazine asking for action”)

Mercury and the Balsamic Moon rise ahead of the Sun, so they should make a lovely couple just before Sunrise, whether you’re in the right spot (east central Asia) to see the Moon cover Mercury or not.  The Balsamic Moon is about Letting Go, echoing our other themes.

Saturn points us to The Most Important Thing, and informs us that all of the other priorities will be just fine playing quietly by themselves while we put all of our Attention on The Most Important Thing.  Scorpio is about Getting to the Bottom of Things, so when…

The Most Important Thing Is Getting to the Bottom of Things,

we can – appropriately – be pretty obsessive.  Another useful key phrase about Scorpio, left over from the Recovery Movement in the 1980s (when Pluto was in Scorpio) is The Way Out Is Through.  Saturn has been in Sagittarius since Christmas 2014, and in Sagittarius The Way Out Is Letting Go.  So we’ve Lightened Up quite a bit since Christmas.  But there are still some bits of Egg clinging to the pan, so we need to go back and scrub a little more.

Till last Christmas, Saturn had been in Scorpio since October 2012 – in other words, The Most Important Thing has been Getting to the Bottom of Things since Time ended and Pi took over.  For the last two and a half years The Most Important Thing has been locating anything and everything that has stood between us and taking Full Responsibility for Everything in our Lives.  Though Pi gave us that first nine months of Grand Trines to ease our Rebirth into the New Era, of course that would feel like being poked with spears and knives by everyone and everything around us, as we were educated about where we weren’t taking Responsibility.

Soooo, what did we not quite finish up?  Responsibility means being able and willing to Respond.  It looks to improve the Future, not assign causality and Blame for anything from the Past.  Anyplace in your Life where you’re still feeling like a Victim, or where you want to Blame someone else for anything?  Those are the bits of Egg we need to work with; keep your eye out for them between now and mid-September, especially toward the end of July, as Saturn turns Direct on August 1.  After mid-September, we’re in the Let-It-Go Stage “for good” – well, for two and a half years anyway.

The Station of Makemake in 29 Virgo (“A seeker after occult knowledge is reading an ancient scroll which illumines her mind”) suggests that…

We should be on the lookout for What We Need to Survive in this New Era.  We first experimented with meeting our new Next-Phase Tribe (Makemake in Libra) from mid-October 2013 to mid-March 2014.  Then last September we renewed this quest.  In mid-July we get serious about it.  In between – March-August of 2014 and mid-May through mid-July of this year, we review our own Blocks to receiving our new Community.  Virgo is about breaking down the Ego so we’re ready to meet Other without prejudice – without Judgment.  Ego is a force for good; it’s primary Mission is to keep us alive. The only problem with Ego is that it’s “sticky.”

Sure, Narcissism can feel like a pain if we’re stuck with having to deal with someone else’s Narcissism, but that’s just about our own unwillingness or inability to set working Boundaries.  Our own Narcissism?  Not to worry; it’s its own best frenemy. 

A caution for Virgo, though.  Since Ego-Recycling and Virgo are so poorly understood in Ego-dominated Western culture, Virgo ends up being seen as nit-picky and critical, and Virgo grows up with a programmed self-hate from introjecting this criticality.  So anyone with strong Virgo will likely worry about their own Narcissism.  But Virgo is the Opposite of Narcissistic.  What’s the Coin?  Self-Love.  Self-Transformation (Virgo) is about Self-Love, for sure.  Transformation isn’t about hating what’s being Transformed, it’s about Transcending what’s being Transformed.

A functioning Ego is flexible enough to Celebrate our own unique Skills fully – without having to compete them with the unique Skills of Others, and to Recognize when and where it would serve our Community better to delegate to the superior unique Skills of Another.  A “normal” Ego, more concerned with how many strokes we get, gets stuck on the last hurt or triumph, and loses track of the Present Moment.

This is what Virgo is about.  Pisces is about making a break from a Community that we’ve outgrown, with all of the Grief and unfulfilled Wishes and lack of Recognition and unexpressed Angers and Fear of Abandonment that’s involved in Letting Go of a Community without the assurance that we’ll be accepted into a new one.  Neptune and Chiron are working us through all that Drama and Trauma.  Virgo is about making a break from a sticky Ego that we’ve outgrown, with all of the Grief and unfulfilled Wishes and lack of Recognition and unexpressed Angers and Fear of Abandonment that’s involved in Letting Go of an Identity without the assurance that a new one will function any better than the old one.  Or, in a word, Ego Death.  Makemake is helping us through this wicket, and it’s an excellent Guide to have, as its focus is always on Co-Creating the new tools we’ll need to Survive in a new Era.

So as we go back into Getting to the Bottom of Things, we’re also back in Ego Death.  With Saturn, we’re just re-entering our last review period (ie, just tiptoeing back into Scorpio and hoping she doesn’t wake up).  With Makemake, we’ve already finished our review (ie, already backtracked into Virgo, and now we’re turning to exit for the final time), so we’re in better shape there.  Between now and mid-July we’ll be making the adjustments that will “fix” the Responsibility shortcomings that we’ve already encountered.

So while there may be a few Surprises awaiting us on the Emotional front, on the Ego front we’ve probably seen that last of them.  Is it any easier to step aside and Witness an Emotion that threatens to overwhelm us, than it is to step aside and Witness an Identity that’s sabotaging us?  You bet.  It’s when the Emotion and the Identity are intertwined, that the greatest difficulties arise.  And as we encounter the last few Emotions that Separate us from Joy and Light, we should already have some degree of Ego Detachment.

Cuspal Saturn and Stationary Makemake are Sextile to one another, sharing the quality of Magnetism.

Sextiles connect two Signs that have either Magnetism or Dynamism in common, so on this basic level they aren’t competing with one another.  It’s the Sixth Harmonic, so the basic Energy is about Partnership – Win-Win. 

It’s a Waxing Sextile, several years into the Saturn-Makemake Cycle that began in September 2009 at 26 Virgo, “A boy with a censer serves the priest near the altar.”  In terms of current events, we could trip into a number of directions on that one, about boy-priest relationships or about “making things smell better.”

In our tradition of focusing on what’s being Healed, we’ll do just that, and propose that the current 33-year Saturn-Makemake Cycle is about Healing the lost art of Apprenticeship.  In pre-Industrial society, as children we “played” at learning the “work” our elders were doing, automatically learning Survival Skills in the process.  Since that link was broken by the various forms of Industrial Slavery (schools that removed children from parents so they could be propagandized into one paradigm, work that separated the workplace from the family so compassion could be removed from working conditions, etc), child-adult relationships have been strained and forced into unfamiliar forms.

A Saturn-Makemake Cycle would be about Building the Structures that Support Survival in the next Paradigm.  So we could see the current Cycle as Restructuring Apprenticeship to reintegrate Spirituality and Survival (“Work”) and Everyday Life.  Industrial and Religious Culture rigidly divided these into separate days of the week.  Remember that what we’re going here (2000-2020) in the Jupiter-Saturn Cycles is, on the Cultural level, deciding what parts of the Industrial Age we want to take with us into the Digital Age.  The Sextile represents Grace after we take the first step.  The Cultural level is assembled from accumulation of Personal levels.  So an appropriate question to ask ourselves might be…

Are there concrete steps I can take right now, to integrate my Spiritual Life with my Everyday Life and What I Do to Survive?  Have I already taken any steps like this?  Can I start to build them into Patterns that can become the infrastructure of Life in the Next Phase?

Makemake Stationary December 21-30

A Station makes the impact of the Stationary planet very strong, in this case the dwarf planet Makemake, which is about Manifestation.  So watch your thoughts and your metaphors – you could “get what you Ask for” before you even get the words out of your mouth.  The actual Makemake Station doesn’t occur till December 30 (a bit before noon PST – see http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pst12.htm for other time zones), but we’ll be feeling the Station for a week or so prior to that.

Let’s take the others in time order.  An Initiation means someone’s changing our Water – the Energy is shifting.

Pluto Initiating Vesta – December 27

At a bit past 1pm PST ( http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pst13.htm ) December 27, Pluto Initiates Vesta.  Pluto doesn’t take No for an answer, and Vesta is about our Fundamentalism – the places where we take our metaphors literally.  So our Beliefs are Changing, which is good, since Belief is usually just about the last thing that gets Changed.  Belief struggles mightily to keep up with the last century’s Reality, let alone this century’s. 

Most asteroids take about four years to get back to where they started, so for the last four years our Beliefs have been justified by Outside Authority.  This is shifting.  For the next four years our Beliefs will be based on Fear of Destruction, though there will be some who Believe even more strongly that if it’s carved in Stone it must be true.

The previous Cycle began in February 2011 at 7 Capricorn, “A veiled prophet speaks, seized by the power of a god.”  The current Initiation occurs at 14 Capricorn, “An ancient bas-relief carved in granite remains a witness to a long-forgotten culture.“

Chiron Initiating Sappho – December 27

The second event is Chiron Initiating the asteroid Sappho, at around 8pm PST ( http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pst20.htm ) on December 27.  Sappho’s kind of obscure, but she’s about Lust for Yindependence and Yintegrity.  Chiron starts out Discouraging, but then, if you’re lucky or assiduous, Changes your Worldview so Discouragement becomes Excitement.  The Initiation is 14 of Pisces, “A lady wrapped in a large stole of Fox fur.“

We can expect the next four years to be about using our cleverness to justify and indulge our Lust for Yindependence.  That’s clever, not disingenuous.

The prior Cycle, the one we’re finishing, began in March 2011 at 2 Pisces, “A Squirrel hiding from hunters.”  So…

With regard to our craving for Freedom from Convention, we’re changing from being the hunted to being the hunter, and changing our modus operandi from subterfuge to cleverness.  This will be very handy as we move into this last Uranus-Pluto Square, which is about dropping our Masks and letting our True Self bloom.

Saturn Initiates Pallas – December 28

Saturn is very clear about how we need to Pay Attention to The Most Important Thing, and put lower priorities on the back burner for a while.  If we do, we leap forward; if we don’t, progress stalls.  Hence Saturn’s (inappropriate) reputation for Limitation.  When Saturn’s lit up and progress eludes us, we need to examine our priorities.  On December 23, Saturn completed its two-and-a-half-year sojourn in Scorpio. 

In Scorpio, The Most Important Thing is to Get to the Bottom of Things.  Now Saturn is in Sagittarius, where The Most Important Thing is Letting Go and Moving On.  Pallas is about Boundaries and Discernment – think “God, grant me the Strength to Change the things I can, the Serenity to Accept the things I can’t, and the Wisdom to know the difference” and you know Pallas. 

The spent Cycle was Initiated in September 2009 at Virgo 26, “A boy with a censer serves the priest near the altar.”  The current Cycle, beginning at 4pm PST ( http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pst16.htm ) December 28, starts at Sagittarius 1, “Retired army veterans gather to reawaken old memories.“

We’re moving from five years where our Most Important Boundaries revolved around Tradition and Ritual, to five years when our Most Important Discernments are about Community and Bonding. 

If you’re reading the indented normal print, you see how I’ve gone from “priest and altar” to Tradition and Ritual, and gone from “gathering veterans” to Bonding and Community – and you’ve undoubtedly taken the symbols in your own direction as well!  You may have gone instead from “censer” to Incense to Trance, and from “old memories” to Traditions.  Go for it!!  That’s why I list the astrology itself, because my interpretations are just one snapshot of one moment; the astrology itself is a whole movie.

Moon Crosses Uranus-South Node – December 28-29

Which of course triggers the Main Event of the next several months, namely Pluto Squaring the Nodes while Uranus sits on the South Node.  In case you haven’t noticed, this means that all of the heavy Emotions and childhood prohibitions that have prevented you from revealing that part of your True Self, are up in your face.  Well, it turns out that those heavy Emotions and childhood prohibitions were just protecting you from all manner of untoward consequences of letting that part of you come out and play before the right time.

Now the time is right, but you have all these Habits and Patterns built up to hide behind.  You don’t need them any more, but do you know that?  And how can you Trust that it’s now okay to come out to play?  Not easy.  Good time to stick a toe in the Water, though, to see what happens.  You’ll need all the Discernment you can muster though, to separate your Expectations from the “Real”-World consequences (the World will probably be totally nonplussed).  We don’t have to do it all in one weekend, but if you’re inspired to run a test, by all means go for it!

Quaoar Initiates Ceres – December 31

Unlike our Vesta Beliefs, which are usually long since obsolete and serve mostly to Limit us, Quaoar Beliefs are real Life-and-Death rules that impact our Survival.  Since Ceres represents Sustainability, Ceres-Quaoar is a pretty heavy combination.  It’s a five-year Cycle.  We’re shifting from a half-decade where we specialized in certain tasks, and segregated ourselves by tribe, to a span where we feel the need to be very clear about who we are and what we stand for.

The prior Cycle started in February 2010 at Sagittarius 22, “A Chinese laundry.”  The new Cycle begins at Sagittarius 26, “A flag bearer in a battle.“

Shouting down Monsanto’s efforts to poison and monopolize our food comes to mind, along with a hundred other flavors of fascism.  Makes me curious about what will come next.

In November 2009 Quaoar Initiates Ceres again in 3 Capricorn, “A human soul, in its eagerness for new experiences, seeks embodiment.“

Well, that could go either way – the Chinese aphorism “May you be born in an interesting Time” is generally regarded as a curse.  But at least it implies that it’ll be worth coming back for.

All of which leaves us where exactly?  Well, one way to put all these ideas together is that the next several years will see us raising the flag of Community and eschewing the forces that would enslave the People in order to enrich a few.  We could see that.

Changes

Lots of Rebirth going on, for better and for worse – not at all surprising after a Uranus-Stationary Solstice New Moon.  Makes the 2012 Solstice look like no big deal, as if that was just the end of some Calendar, or the End of Time, or something trivial like that.  This is New Life, like it or not.  Whatever is Changing rapidly for you, it’s important to look it squarely in the eye. 

Responsibility means being willing and able to Respond.  It’s how we avoid being victimized by events in our World that may or may not have any relationship to our own personal Manifestations.  We need to absorb our Changes quickly, partner with them, and move forward.  The World won’t wait for us.

We have no need to try to second-guess the Unconscious.  You may benefit from Asking yourself, “Did I Manifest that, and if so, how?”  But don’t get tangled up in it.  If you get an answer to that question, you’ll get it in a split second, and if you did, you’ve probably already rejected it as politically incorrect.  If you have to think about it, you’re not just wasting your time, you’re probably Creating new complications with your thoughts.  This isn’t about Guilt, it’s about Rebirth.

If you want to dissect the relationship between the Unconscious and the events in your World, get a copy of Eugene Gendlin’s Let Your Body Interpret Your Dreams and follow it closely, so you can dissect without convoluting things even more.  The only substantive difference between Your Dreams and Your “Reality” is that Your Dreams suffer less from your Limiting Beliefs.

If you do want to sit down with what has Manifested in your Life, give it its own chair.  Be the Witness.  Talk to it, Ask it questions, and let it answer.  If you aren’t sure whether or not you’re projecting, Ask yourself, “Well, what if I did know?” and take the answer that you’ve already rejected.  No thinking, this is all about First Flash.  Let it Ask you questions.  Find out what its Mission is, and share with it what you believe Yours is.  See if the two of you can work out a Win-Win, where you support one another.

If it’s entered your Life, whether you’ve Created (or Co-Created) it or not, it’s now your new partner, so the two of  you need to get on the same page as quickly as you can.

The Tricolors (which instruct us to Respond to any Difficulty with Curiosity) that we spoke about in our last post, Curiosity ( https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/2014/12/20/curiosity/ ), are still with us.  There are a few adjustments, which we’ll talk more about soon.

 

The Main Event for the next several months is the combination of

• Pluto Squaring the Nodes (“Listen Up!  The instructions we’re giving you aren’t optional!” says the Unconscious),
• Uranus Squaring Pluto (if you aren’t at the top of your game, it’s because you still aren’t fully accepting some essential part of yourself), and
• Uranus Initiating the South Node (Don’t you dare miss a *single* opportunity to be Loving with any bummer, large or small, that you’ve seen before)

And on December 31, the dwarf planet Makemake (which is about Manifestation) is Stationary (strong), so expect to be experiencing that as we move through the holydays.  That basically means, Be careful what you Ask for, and be mindful of your thoughts because after all each thought is really a Prayer, and all Prayers are answered in one way or another.  Our thoughts are just so scrambled that when they are answered, our Manifestations are so scrambled that we don’t notice the connection. 

 

When you catch a negative thought, hit it quickly with the mantra “Cancel, Neutralize, Upgrade” to Cancel the negative Manifestation, Neutralize the Energy you’ve Created, and Upgrade the thinker (you) to reduce the future scrambling.

I was on a ferryboat yesterday when the boat seemed to stop about halfway through it’s journey.  My father was in the business of commercial boating, but I know nothing about it, so I’m always curious and try to guess what’s going on and why.  I was in the middle of the boat, though, so I would have had to get out of my car to see what was going on.  Not that I was being lazy (at that moment), but realizing that we were in a big Pluto T-Square to the Nodes and Uranus, I tried instead to hold onto my Curiosity.

It was near impossible.  Curiosity is like Water.  My mind was adamant though about making up stories!  It was like I was starving and someone was handing me candybars.  I finally realized that once I tried to hold on to the Curiosity, I got the Intuition that another boat was tying up the dock.  Then I remembered which boat I was on, and how that had always been the case with that boat when I had taken it before.

But I had gotten the point – are there any Tricolors to the T-Square?  Moving from the Squares to the Quincunxes will unleash the Grace of the Trines or Sextiles in the Tricolors, just as respecting my Curiosity as Curiosity, rather than as a puzzle to be solved, led to my Intuition and recollections.

The answer is Yes.  There is a prominent Minor Tricolor with Pluto Square North Node Quincunx Chiron Sextile Pluto…

For the next several months we’re being Asked (actually, ordered is a more appropriate term when Pluto is involved) to connect with our Mission in the Lifetime.  When any Uncertainty or concern arises around that –

Why am I here?  What am I supposed to be doing with my Life?  Why is this so difficult?

A Powerful response to those questions would be to empathize with our Uncertainty –

“You poor Sweetheart, you’re really feeling puzzled, aren’t you.”

You don’t want to stay with the Questions, looking for answers.  Empathy takes you out of your conundrum and puts you in the role of the Witness.  The Act of Empathy will trigger your Intuition, potentially (if you can maintain the role of Witness) unleashing Miracles that will Transform your Life.

Which is to say, that’s Chiron’s role, to Transform us from Discouragement to Miracle.  The doorway to Chiron’s Transformation is Empathy.

And there is a Major Tricolor across the Pluto-South Node Square; Pluto Square to Uranus-South Node Quincunx to the asteroid Panacea Trine to Pluto…

 Panacea’s role in Mythology was as the “Universal Remedy” – she can fix what ails you.  So when we feel Stress about whether to be “nice” or Honest, and when we feel deja vu coming up over ancient experiences we’d just rather not re-experience all over again, our Power lies through…

“I Wonder what sort of Magic will just eliminate all this Stress about avoiding Bummers and worrying about saying the right things at the right times to the right people!?!?”

Once you’ve Wondered, you’ve done the Work.  You don’t need to know anything else.  You can just Imagine the Elixir you need, the perfect Fairy Dust to heal all of your Stress and leave you perfectly Self-Confident and Relaxed about your Competence to handle whatever Life throws at you today.  Shower yourself with that Elixir, and you’re ready to meet your Solstice Rebirth!  Enjoy!

The End of Autumn II

Forgot to mention that the Capricorn Solstice New Moon is Biseptile to the Uranus Station.  So the three events – Solstice, New Moon, Uranus Station – are tied together by more than concurrency.

The Septile series is about Shamanic Energy, which is to say it’s about Trusting our Intuition to Act at the precise moment when minimum effort is required to produce maximum results, and in the precise manner to make it so.  Since chances are that Shamanic Action won’t make sense to the logical mind, we usually need to assign the role of Non-Judging Witness, or at least disinterested spectator, to the mind when this Seventh Harmonic is lit up.

That’s particularly important at the Biseptile, or two seventh of the way ’round the Zodiacal loop.  The Second Harmonic (the “bi” part) is about Transcending Duality.  The logical mind doesn’t easily move to the Coin from the contrast of heads versus tails; it requires an Intuitive leap.

So Life will be Asking us to Do things this week and next which make no sense.  Dare to go ahead and Do them.  The Uranus Station is in Aries, and Aries’s job is to lay the Spiritual Foundation for a Co-Creation that is totally Clear in the mind of the Creator of All That Is, but completely fuzzy in the mind of Her co-conspirator, us.

Also forgot to mention that our Descent into the Initiation of the South Node by Uranus begins December 20.  It’s Exact on January 31, and remains within our three-degree Orb till March 4.

An Angle is said to be “Exact” or “Complete” when the degrees and minutes match.  We feel it most from the time when the faster planet is one to three degrees away from the slower planet, to the time when the Angle is Exact.  The one to three degrees is called the “Orb” or “Sensitivity.”  If we’re Sensitive to Energy we’ll want to use three degrees of Orb.  If we’re as Sensitive as a concrete block, it doesn’t matter.  But one degree is a minimum.

For instance, on December 20 the South Node (the faster “planet”) is at 15:33 of Aries, and Uranus at 12:34 of Aries.  Since the Nodes always move backwards (the “Mean Node” anyway, which is the one we use), and since Uranus is beginning to move forward again, this is three degrees of Separation and closing.  By January 31, they converge at 13:17.  They remain within three degrees of one another till March 4.

The South Node represents our Limiting Beliefs, and Uranus our Individual Soul.  So there is an impending collision here, between our Karmic programming and our True Self, which may be painful.  The Universe is Asking us to Stand Still for whatever Emotional trauma embraces our Limiting Beliefs.  If you’re old enough and have a journal or a good memory, you can think back to May 1999, the last time Uranus Initiated the South Node.

That one occurred at 17 of Aquarius, “A watchdog stands guard, protecting his master and his possessions,” with Uranus Stationary.  So if you’ve spent the last fifteen years Protecting yourself from your Emotional trauma, no Blame!  ‘Twas the season.  This on is 14 Aries, “A serpent coiling near a man and a woman.”  That image carries a whole lot of implications, and Protection doesn’t sound like it’s one of them.

So the next few months could be quite a rodeo ride.  Since we’re dealing with Rebirth, it’s probably best not to hang on too tight, and just PIAVA a gentle landing in our new roost.

The difference between the period of Sensitivity prior to an Exact Angle, and the period of Orb that follows an Exact Angle, depends on our Consciousness. 

If we’re Conscious that the Angular event is occurring, then the impact will drop off rapidly after the event is Exact.  If we’re Victim to the event, it’s more likely to diminish slowly.  If we feel Victimized by the event and make Decisions to Protect ourselves from it, we’ll make this Victimization a permanent part of our Lives, until we Liberate ourselves from it.

So for the next several months we’re deeply entwined in Pluto Squaring the Nodes, with Uranus on the South Node.

Plan to do a lot of Surrendering until we get to the next Equinox.  In a nutshell, Resistance is not only futile, it’s counterproductive.

As the Nodes (Karma and Destiny) move into a Square (Mastery through Challenge) to Pluto (Inevitability), it’s a good time to review what Felix Wolf refers to as “Cognitive Dissonance.”  We usually refer to it as “Both/And,” the version of the story taught to us by Susun Weed.  You’ll probably recognize it as Buddhism 101.

The basic idea is that, if we want to Live from the Heart – which is not optional – we need to bring the tyranny of mind under control.  Truth lies in the Heart, and it carries a different flavor in every Heart.  It cannot be pinned like a trophy butterfly into words, because it’s Alive.  

The notion that Truth derives from Facts is Political.  It’s basic purpose is to separate your supporters from your detractors.  A “Fundamentalist,” whether a religious Fundamentalist or a scienterrific Fundamentalist or a patriot, is someone who “believes their own metaphors,” or takes them literally.  In the Political realm it’s Either/Or – you’re either one of us or you’re the enemy.

In the Spiritual Realm it’s Both/And; you’re just seeing the World through different Perspectives, and the more Perspectives you can carry around with you, the more flexibility you have for dealing with a Unitary and infinitely Multifarious  Reality. 

Here’s a starter: the Intellectual, Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual views of the World are each different Perspectives on a single Reality.  Find a circumstance where you vehemently object to that proposition, and sit with it till you’re comfortable with the Dissonance.  I’ll wait…

Got it?  Good.  Now you know how to soften up those self-sabotaging Limiting Beliefs.  Saturn moves into Sagittarius soon, so you’re going to be meeting many such situations for the next several years.  And Pluto being Squared by the Nodes, which will be with us through February, is likely to ferret out all of your most vehement objections to the notion.  You want to get this work finished before the end of January, while the “iron is hottest.”

Any time you encounter an apparently Physical problem (such as money or health), work on it from the Emotional (How will I Feel when I achieve that goal?) or Spiritual (Give It Over) Perspective. 

When you run into an Emotional problem (such as being strongly Reactive in a situation where you need all your faculties to be Present), try playing with it from the Physical (act it out with a friend) or Intellectual (what would Dick Cheney do?) Perspectives.

You might approach a Spiritual problem (such as Fear of Death) from the Physical (Tibetan Buddhists sit with a corpse while it rots) or Intellectual (the Buddha asked a person who was unable to release their Grief to find someone who had never lost a relative) Viewpoints.

An intellectual issue (such as what the Lizards and Fascists are likely to do to the Planet next) might soften if approached from a Spiritual (Matter doesn’t Matter) or Emotional (Grieve it as you would the Death of your best friend) viewpoint.  BTW, any concerns about the Future are intellectual concerns, because in Real Life, All There Is Is Now.

Which brings us to a Perspective that might have the Power to allow you to Let Go of your Karma, if you’re willing. 

Imagine us as Souls sitting in the lounge and tuning in to the afternoon soap opera called “Earth” on our galactic scanners.  We’ve smoked a little too much Soulweed, and we start to empathize with the Drama.  So we decide to go “down” there and mix it up a little before Souldinner.  (Time’s a little different here.)

Maybe we don’t like the constant War business.  As Souls, we’re U17-DK-certified Karma-free, so we have to find a costume that’ll seem credible to our fellow simulators.  No problem, as all of the exit ports on the lounge have built-in programming modules.  So we just turn the dial to “Anger” (or maybe a Mars T-Square) as we step into the transmogrifier.  So then when we’re born or walk in to a Lifetime, we get to experience our own little internal War.

Of course, if we remember our Soul Self during our recess it would spoil the fun, so we tune the other dial to “Full” (or maybe Mars Out of Bounds and Rising) so we’ll forget what we came to the Planet to do.  You can see the Emotional Fields on Earth in maps, like they use to show the weather (Emotions aren’t personal, they’re Energy Fields).  So you might drop into Syria rather than Iowa.

The Nodes Square Pluto on January 20, and the three-degree Sensitivity window begins tomorrow and runs through the end of February.  The Vacancy that would complete the Grand Cross is 14 Cancer, “A very old man facing a vast dark space to the northeast.”  Sounds like the Rebirth theme again to me.

Our drama this week, leading up to the Solstice, is about our True Self’s urge to Manifest into our Life.  This year’s Capricorn Solstice will be a major Rebirth, with abundant Grace sprinkled down from the Heavens.

We start our Solstice adventures at 3am PST December 21 ( http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pst3.htm ), plus or minus six hours, when the Moon crosses the dwarf planet Chaos (Limitless Potential or the Quantum Vacuum, rather than Disorder) and triggers the Juno-South Node-Chaos Grand Trine and the North Node Kite.  The Kite is long-term, it’s just the Moon’s activation that lasts plus or minus six hours.

The window for Miracles is wide open during this Rebirth.  The only Limits are your own Beliefs.

The next event is an almost-simultaneous Direct Station of Uranus and the Solstice itself, which occur within a quarter hour of one another, around 3pm PST ( http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pst15.htm ).  In other words, Uranus is Stationary (Strong) all this week.

If Disruptions occur this week, Let It Go.  What’s being cut away is no longer in alignment with our Soul’s Mission for us in the Future.  Grieve if necessary, but move on.  If anything isn’t effortless, don’t push it; instead, go inside and explore your Inner Experience.

Then at half-past 5pm PST ( http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pst17.htm ), we get the New Moon, within six arc-minutes of the Capricorn Cusp, “An Indian chief claims power from the assembled tribe.“

A quick calculation says we’re likely to get a New Moon within three hours of the Capricorn Solstice – which we can think of as Rebirth Squared – every 1,800 years or so.  The Capricorn Solstice stands out not just because it’s a traditional time of Rebirth, but also because it’s near the Galactic Center.

The Galactic Center being still Lit Up by September’s once-in-twelve-million-times-the-age-of-our-Universe Centaur Stampede.

A New Moon, a Capricorn Solstice, and a Uranus Station occurring within three hours of one another would occur every 30,000 years or so.  On the current Linear scienterrific time scale that would put us about twenty millennia before the discovery of metalworking, so this is indeed an opportunity for swapping out of a Trance that Hufolk have been in for a loooong time.  The timing doesn’t quite match with the collection of fossils found so far, but with a little imagination you could think of the shift from Homo neanderthalensis to Homo sapiens.

I also can’t help but think about Atlantis, though the Linear timing, at least according to Plato, is off.  But Plato says that Atlantis fell because of the hubris of the Atlanteans.

If it feels like your (old) World is falling apart (or like you’re sinking into a bottomless sea of Emotion) before your Rebirth establishes any foundation for your Rebirth, take it with a sense of humor.  It’s just the Gods having some fun at your expense.  It’ll be all good in a couple of days.

Reanimate the Planet

I think one good way to kernelize the irreparable damage that Hupersons are doing to their Home, is to speak of the need to Reanimate the Planet.  History and the frightly news is full of examples to the contrary, but most of us would be less abusive to the Planet if we thought of Her as alive.

I couldn’t find a link – they may be waiting till the copies in the stores age – but the current Popular Science (of all places) has an article on “Animals Like Us,” about the Nonhuman Rights Project, http://www.nonhumanrightsproject.org/ , that’s suing to liberate Primates involuntarily incarcerated for life.  The article goes on to talk about the many “recent discoveries” that demonstrate that differentiation between Hufolk and Animafolk is political, philosophical, religious, reductionist, and self-serving rather than scienterrific.

An unusual topic for Popular Science magazine.  And speaking of unusual topics, foodie Mark Bittman has a very well-written and comprehensive article in the NYTimes about inequality in das Vaterland…

where he strikes a similar theme, about how the difficulties facing Folk of all stripes (except the Lizardfolk) really amount to the same thing.  Good food = clear thinking.  This is a good trend, as it simplifies “the problem” and potentially unifies the political movement to change it.

It’s late – we’re at Uranus-Pluto Square #6 of 7, but better late than never.  It’s interesting that the corporate media is carrying these protests; since the 1970s the media has been collaborating with the increasingly militarized police to paint political protest in Amerika as the work of “anarchists,” when they cover it at all.  It’s a big change, and it indicates that corporate interests are now fearing that their police machine could get out of hand and shoot them in the foot.  A parallel to Nixon ending the draft?  Now we just need to avoid a repeat of the Eugene McCarthy debacle.
