Oh, one more thing. Before we look at the next, January 2020, Saturn-Pluto chart, let’s look at the last, November 1982, Saturn-Pluto chart, the Initiator of the Cycle that we’re just now finishing. It was 7 November 1982 (5pm PST) in 28 Libra, “A person becoming aware of spiritual forces surrounding and assisting them.” Does that sound like something that’s been going on for you over the last 37 years? Of course, for the last ten years (since the Waning Square in 2 Libra-Capricorn of 15 November 2009) we will have been Letting Go Of(Waning Square) this Energy, so our Memory may have become dimmed.
In that chart, the Direction in which Major Grace was Flowing (the Head of a Kite, or the planet Opposite one corner of a Grand Trine) was that The Most Important Thing in Life at that Time Was the New Trance that Was Being Formed (Saturn-Pluto), the Trance of Becoming Aware of Spiritual Forces (Sabian Symbol for 28 Libra). Too many Stories to tell, but that was certainly massively, shockingly, and excitingly True in my Life then.
The Direction from which Grace was Flowing (the tail of the Kite) was our Karma(asteroid Karma). That was around the time when I first read Seth’s (Jane Roberts’s) The Nature of Personal Reality, wherein one of the more Profound Truths He and she said, was that our Karma is easy to read – it’s written in our Personal History. And if we don’t like it, then it’s up to us to Change it. I don’t know about you, but that’s been a major theme in my Life over the last thirty-some years – as you well know if you’ve been reading this blog for any of its 32 years!
The corollaries (the other two corners of the Grand Trine) were Becoming Aware that Clarity replaces Confusion when we shift our Perspective from the Material to the Spiritual(Neptune), and Intuitions about How to Manifest What We Want(dwarf planets Makemake and Asbolus). Those have also been prominently Lit Up in my own Life then and since, as I know they’ve also been prominent in the Lives of Others – think Oprah as just one example.
Converting Despair into Miracles(dwarf planet Chiron) and Trust (asteroid Eurydike) are also Strong in the 1982 Saturn-Pluto chart (both forming Strong Angles to the four corners of the Kite). There is a very important astrological Configuration that instructs us to Let Something Be and Avoid trying to squeeze it into an airless Intellectual box by trying to Figure It Out so we think we Understand it – some Energies at some times are meant to be Enduring Mysteries, and this Configuration Illuminates those Energies (we refer to this Configuration as a “Tricolor” because it’s a triangle composed of a Square which we draw in red, a Quincunx in green, and a Trine in blue).
There are three of these Configurations in the 1982 Saturn-Pluto chart. Two of them share the same Mystery, so there have been two Mysteries that should have predominated over the last Thirty-six years. I’ll let you think about how much Energy you’ve spent trying to Figure Them Out rather than Letting Them Be.
The first Mystery (Quincunx in a Tricolor), the one that’s repeated twice, is about the Relationship between Converting Despair into Miracles(Chiron) and Becoming Aware that Clarity replaces Confusion when we shift our Perspective from the Material to the Spiritual(Neptune).
As has been my wont, I’ve ended up Overthinking this one, as during the 1980s I discovered that It’sEmpathy that Converts Despair into Miracles, and having Discovered that, I’ve been putting Poor-Sweethearting to work early and often, even making it into a sort of quasi-religious meme. The fact that Others don’t Resonate to it the way I do should have tipped me off that I was overthinking it. In my Defense, I didn’t Realize till just now that, in the context of the Saturn-Pluto Cycle, it was this type of Mystery – all part of the Unwinding (last quarter) of the old Cycle.
The second Mystery of this type (Quincunx in a Tricolor) is the Relationship between Trust(Eurydike) and our Karma(asteroid Karma).
When I Intellectualize that, it seems clear that the more we practice our Karma – and Repetition is what Karma does for a Living – the more likely we are to Become Conscious of the Patterns and thereby not only replace Fate with Choice, but also Dissolve the Held Emotions that block our Intuition. To me those are Big, Liberating Realizations, so I Let Them Go with some Grief, even as I see that More Powerful Insights wait on the other side of Letting Go Of thinking that I Understand this process. Manifesting in 5D is all about Cooperation and Collaboration and Receiving. In 3D it’s more about Effort and Persistence and “Winning.” Here’s an example…
…came to a nearby town to present a workshop. I was a little surprised at the time by how quickly I Responded, since the town was far enough away that I would normally have had to work fairly hard to convince myself to make the trip.
In a completely unconnected process, the week before Jeremy’s workshop, one of my clients asked me to attend an all-day meeting being held the day before the workshop. My client’s meeting was to occur in another town only a few miles from the workshop, and they offered to provide lodging before and after the meeting.
Tremendous stroke of luck, as it meant that I didn’t have to get up before dawn to travel to either! As my client was making these arrangements, they suggested I bring my wife and have a “second honeymoon.” Well, unbeknownst to my client, it turned out that the meeting was happening in the same hotel that our wedding reception had been held in years before! Another remarkable coincidence – or remarkable Intuition on the part of my client.
So, we went to the meeting and the workshop, and assisting Jeremy in the workshop, unbeknownst to me when I signed up, was a friend, remarkable person, and fabulous Irish Harpist, Peter Berry (https://manufacturing.dustystrings.com/blog/dusty-harp-001-interview-peter-berry). Well, Peter, with his Harp and his incredible Bardic Genius for Story, was the officiant who married us!
Not knowing these remarkable “coincidences,” Jeremy sketched out the Sidhe way of relating to their Reality, which sounded a lot like what we might Call 5D Manifesting, where we’re in Cooperation and Collaboration with the Energies and Forces around us. That’s one of the fundamental purposes for this blog, hoping to help us understand the Forces swirling around us at any given time, so we can more Easily Cooperate and Collaborate.
I don’t normally get this personal in this blog, but the Story is too “coincidental” to resist telling. Back in 2012, when the World As We Know It was Ending, we spoke a lot about how a New Energy Manifests at the Beginning of a Cycle between two planets, when a faster planet passes a slower one, and the slower (more Powerful) planet Initiates the faster one, or provides Shaktipat so that the faster planet can serve to Implement the Program of the slower one.
After the Initiation – when the New Energy is Prominent, the New Energy moves underground, as the Masters of the Old Obsolete Energy work to save their Investments by Forcing the Old Energy to appear to still be Working. If we understand these Cycles, and know where we are in which Cycles, we can ignore the Old-Energy-serving headlines, we can “no longer lend our Strength to that which we wish to be Free From” (as Jewel puts it), and put our Efforts into helping the New Energy take hold.
The New Energy comes into its own when the faster planet is three Signs ahead of (“Waxing Square to”) the slower planet. In 2012 Uranus Waxed Square to Pluto, finally bringing the Energy of the 1960s (when Pluto Initiated Uranus) out into the mainstream. We Intuit the nature of a Cycle first by the nature of the planets involved, then by the Sabian Symbol of the Degree in which the Initiation occurred, and third by the Birth chart of the Initiation.
One meaning for Pluto is Transformation, or Trance Re-Formation, and another is Compulsion. The interpretation we use for Uranus is the Individual Soul. So the 150-year-long Uranus-Pluto Cycle is about a Compulsion to Transform our Lives so that our Ego Identifies more with our Soul or Mission. You’ll notice that we talk about that quite a bit, especially now that Uranus is Edging into Taurus (Soul Merging with Flesh), which it does again in about six weeks.
So I was thinking last week about how I should be giving examples of the Waxing Square stage of Cycles, where the New Energy is coming out of the Closet, and see if we can Relate that to the Initiation, which we more often write about. So this evening I looked to see which Cycles were at the Waxing Square, that we could write about, and lo, Mars was Waxing Square to Saturn just last week, on 21 January.
So, when was the Initiation, and what did we write about it? I’m not trying to make this a test or testament about these methods, as I didn’t invent them – blame Dane Rudhyar for that – because, after having seen these methods work over the last half-century, I know that if I don’t understand, it’s because there’s New Information coming into my Consciousness, and it’d Behoove me to Pay Attention!
We Interpret Saturn as “The Most Important Thing” or the First Priority, and Mars as Action. So the Mars-Saturn Cycle would be about how well we Prioritize our Actions, and whether they Further our Goals. We have the admitted Bias that we Believe our Goals (at least while Uranus is as Lit Up as it has been) should be devoted to Opening our Ego to Adapt to Knowing and Surrendering to our Soul.
“If we were examining Projects we’re beginning now (this Rebirth, for example), and hence using larger Sensitivities, we’d see that the Saturn-Mars Initiation is also Merged with the Quaoar and Pholus Stations.
“This means that The Most Important Thing (Saturn) is to Act (Mars) to Be Responsive to our Survival Instincts, and by extension to our Hidden Genius. The Saturn-Mars Initiation occurs on 2 April (9am PDT) at 9 Capricorn, ‘An Angel carrying a harp.’ This begins a two-year Cycle where this Angel will facilitate our Actions when they Align with Being Responsive to our Survival and that of our Unique Genius.”
“An Angel carrying a harp!” And of course, the stated Reason that the Sidhe are Approaching our Dimension now is because they sense that we’re about to Commit Cultural and Environmental Suicide, and they’d like to help us Choose to Avoid such a “Fate,” partly because they Live in a Parallel Dimension on the same Planet, and our Suicide will impact them as well. Continuing with our April quote…

Penultimate means the post before the previous one. It usually means next-to-the-last, but in this case, same diff, as the last post is the one before this one.”
We didn’t discuss, at least in that post, the Yin Gate with its emphasis on the Orcus-Nessus Opposition as the Primary Paradox governing the Cycle. Orcus symbolizes the Oaths, Promises, and Commitments that are Forgotten and become Obsolete Habits, aka Karma, and Nessus symbolizes Abuse and it’s flip side, Privilege. One very common sort of Paradox is the Healing Crisis, where an Affliction gets worse after a Healing before it gets better, and may continue to get worse if we Distrust the Medicine, because our Afflictions are continuing Mirrors for our Attitudes.
Here in the USofA we’re in the role of the Battered Woman, where our Oaths to Support Nation and Authority, and to curry favor from Wealth, are being tested by the fact that Authority and Wealth have been Abusing their Privilege and in the process Abusing Us – and we’re Noticing! The two diagonals of the Yin Gate (the blue Rectangle) are the Journey from Karma to Mission, including the “fact” that our Karma hides the tools we need to Reach our Mission (the Nodal Axis), and Noticingthat we need to Trust our Instincts about Ending Obsolete TimeLines (Sun-Mercury Opposite Moon-Eurydike-Atropos).
My own Obsolete TimeLine that’s being Ended is my Programmed Resistance to Accepting the HardCopy Reality of the Subtle Realms and Other Dimensions, where the Energies we need to Cooperate and Collaborate and Conspire with are Swirling, in and out of our own Dimension. Even though I’m Passionate about Reanimating the World and All of its Beings, Sentient and Otherwise (if there is such a thing as an Other-than-Sentient Entity), how much do I Allow it to interpenetrate my Life, Moment-to-Moment?
Earlier in https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/2018/04/01/surviving-2/, we point out that the Saturn-Mars Initiation is also Merged with (Conjoins) the Belief-Responsibility-Survival (Vesta-Pholus-Quaoar) Stellium, telling us that in order to Act to Support the Most Important Thing, Respond to our Survival Instincts, and Allow theAngel’s Harp to Enchant us into Collaboration and Cooperation with the Energies Swirling around us, we need to Allow our Beliefs to Shift.
I have not been Working to Shift my Beliefs; I’ve been Reading and Learning and Watching them Shift on their own. If we look at the second chart in https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/2018/04/01/surviving-2/, we see that the Belief-Responsibility-Survival-Action Challenge (the red triangle or T-Square) is Self-Resolving (the blue cat’s cradle across from it the Diamond Star created by Varuna and Pallas), and that the Belief-Responsibility-Survival-Action Challenge itself is actually between our Ability to Manifest (Makemake) and our Victimhood or Attitudinal Adeptness (Chiron).
Now, while all that well describes the Roots of the Cycle, we want to Recognize that it’s Evolving. If we look at the chart of the Waxing Square itself, which is almost identical to the Sappho-Station (Self-Love) and Grand Octile (Epiphanies) Total-Lunar-Eclipse (Erasing our Karma and Enhancing our Vitality) charts in the Self-Judgment and Self-Love series (the previous posts), we see that our Understanding of the Most Important Actions for us to take (the Mars-Saturn T-Square) is being Transmogrified (Bee-Zed) by our New Commitment to Self-Sovereignty (Hylonome) and our Learning that we overcome our “Fate” by simply Choosing an Alternative (asteroid Moira).
A reader has asked us to review the possible astrological motives behind the current, rather amazing, example of a Tipping Point, where people are starting in some cases to Pay Attention and even Respond when women are assaulted – of which Alabama’s Choice might be an example. This is a Big Question, and it will take me a long while to give it the Attention it deserves, but I’ve uncovered a few clues so far, so I’ll start what will undoubtedly end up being a looong series…
My first guess would be the Uranus-Pluto Cycle that was Initiated in 1965, because it’s one of the bigger (ie, longer) Cycles that’s begun in “our” era. Pluto is about major Changes of Cultural Winds (equating to Jung’s “Universal” Unconscious, which we’re demoting to encompass not the Universe or even the Galaxy, but “only” our Solar System). We could go on at length about Pluto’s role as Guardian of our known Solar System, until its demotion – Sedna plays that role now. Pluto Protected Human Consciousness from having to deal with Reality, and played the role of a movie projector, projecting the Dominant Paradigm onto the Hologram we mistake for Hardcopy Reality.
It was the Waxing Square of the Uranus-Pluto Cycle – when the Cycle’s Energy emerges from gestation and becomes “Permanent,” or at least Pervasive – that ushered us through the whole 2012 Transformation. The word Transformation or TranceFormation – Formation of a (New) Trance, a new movie in the projector – is in my humble opinion the best single keyword to characterize Pluto. The second-best keyword is “Mandatory” – it’s usually futile to Resist Pluto’s Transformations, though they can be adapted within Limits. So to me the Uranus-Pluto Cycle Increases the degree to which the Soul Self insists on its right to partner with the Ego, as its Supervisor.
I don’t regard Slavery as a natural unfolding of the Soul Self, except of course as a Heuristic or Learning Exercise. So any new Uranus-Pluto Cycle is going to make it more difficult to keep enslaving half the People. Also, because Emotion is more often a carrier of Intuition than Intellect, and because Women for one reason or another are likely to have more dexterity with Emotion than men, Women tend to be more Intuitive, at least for now. That is, they have better access to Information that is usually hidden from the Intellect. Hence they are likely to be more Conscious.
So it’s not like Women became Conscious starting in 1965. There have been untold Uranus-Pluto Cycles prior to this one. But 1965 would be expected to see a Transformation of Consciousness of our Soul Self, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see such a Transformation led by Women. And of course we did see just that; there was huge surge in “Feminism” or Respect for the Sovereignty and Leadership of Women, in the 1960s. Sensitive people would have begun Feeling the 1965 Uranus-Pluto Initiation several years prior to the Exact Conjunction, so we don’t expect a sudden Transition.
The current Uranus-Pluto Cycle began at 18 of Virgo, “A Ouija Board” – in other words, forget Logic and Proportion and Pay Attention to the Red Queen. Gracie’s White Rabbit was released by Jefferson Airplane in 1967, and was certainly a very apt anthem for the Times (Zeitgeist is another good keyword for Pluto). She wrote it for her previous band in 1965-66. Close your eyes and let the Ouija Board guide your fingers – Intuition. We could go into the Uranus-Pluto Initiation chart at length – it’s Fascinating – and I hope to find time to do just that.
But let’s shift our Attention to the Present for a minute, as that’s where the Tipping Point seems to have occurred (not that there won’t be a lashback or two). Where is the Uranus-Pluto Cycle now? They’re 107 Degrees apart. Just beyond a Biseptile. The Septile series or Seventh Harmonic is about Timing. Isn’t that a Coincidence. Of course it’s not an exact Biseptile. So what else do we have?
Let’s look at 5 October 2017, the day the New York Times published their expose about Mr. Weinstein. That was certainly a significant moment, and in hindsight (at least until someone more prominent is impeached) an excellent candidate for the Tipping Point itself. Anything relevant going on then (I haven’t looked at Mr. Weinstein’s chart yet, because we want to focus on the impact on the Planet, not on him)?
Well, a new Venus-Mars Cycle was Initiated on 5 October. When we’re talking about sexual and social intercourse, Venus-Mars is certainly where we’d look first. We looked at Uranus-Pluto first because the Venus-Mars Cycle is only about 18 months or so, and we wanted to look at a longer Cycle. So, where was the Venus-Mars Initiation? Duh, 20 Virgo! Only two Degrees from the 1965 Uranus-Pluto Initiation, the environs of which will remain a “hot spot” on the Zodiac till we start the next Uranus-Pluto Cycle in 2150.
Virgo 20 is “A caravan of cars headed to the West Coast.” Well, that was certainly happening in 1965 and thereabouts, with flowers in their hair. How do we relate it to Mr. Weinstein and the Tipping Point for assault on Women? Elsie read these Symbols in 1925 (in San Diego), so a caravan of cars would not have been a common occurrence yet. But on long trips cars may have been likely to travel in caravans, as auto services would have been scarce. It wasn’t until twenty years later, after World War II, that people flooded to Southern California, after seeing what a paradise it was while they were stationed on the edge of the Pacific Front. So these people (or cars) were harbingers.
Is it a coincidence that the West Coast is burning up as we move through this Tipping Point about Respect for Women? Collapse of an Olde Order – Death by Fire – would be an appropriate interpretation. If you follow the Sun, the West Coast is as far as you can go without a boat; darkness follows. The Venus-Mars Cycle is really about how our Inner Female and Inner Male are getting along with each other; the sexual stuff is just a Mirror. So we have the Spirit (Fire) of an Olde Order descending into Darkness, and a caravan coming to Celebrate a whole new level of Integration, to witness the Heiros Gammos that’s underway. Heiros Gammos is certainly an excellent Initiation into 5D Reality.
The only major Angle that the Venus-Mars Initiation made was a Square (Challenge) to Asbolus – which symbolizes Intuition.
Anything else happening on 5 October? Yes, another Initiation, of Hopi by Haumea – Rebirth of Respect for All Things. I’m not sure we need to even say more about that. But for the record, it occurred at 25 Libra, “The sight of an autumn leaf brings to a pilgrim the sudden revelation of the mystery of life and death.” Suggesting that this is no ordinary Rebirth, but an Enlightenment. This Initiation Opposes Uranus-Eris (Revelation of the Soul’s Truth) and is Squared by Nemesis (Ego Death).
Bingo. We could go on, and as time allows we will. We could sleuth out the other 99 Monkeys. But we should remember that any chart speaks with many voices, most of which Harmonize. For instance, on 5 October OR10 (Intrusion of Memories into Consciousness) and Nessus (Abuse and Privilege) were only two Degrees apart. Their Initiation occurred a while back, and they’ve been Dancing ever since; it will be interesting to see what manifested into “Real” Life on or about their Initiation date.
There are a number of other Initiations in the neighborhood of 5 October – Pholus-Lilith (Taking Full Responsibility for Self-Sovereignty!), Quaoar-Lilith (Self-Sovereignty as Survival), Saturn-Lilith (Self-Sovereignty as The Most Important Thing), Ixion-Lilith (Honoring the Sovereignty of our Hidden Genius), all near the Galactic Center, as well as mutual Unions between Varuna (the Life Force), Aletheia (Truth), Ceres (Sustainability), and Mnemosyne (Memory) on the Cusp of Leo (Self-Trust). These suggest that Transition to the Yang Feminine is critical to our Survival, which is not very surprising at all.
(1) The 20 June Full Moon precedes the Solstice by a little less than half a day, so we can see this Moon as impacting the next half-year. And I’ll venture a prognostication that the next half-year, and even the next month, will have a big impact on how long our species continues to dominate this Planet – to the extent that it does. Our species is a much bigger legend in it’s own mind, than it is the Planet’s natural herstory.
(2) This should be no surprise, as we’ve been working up to it since mid-May, but a very prominent feature of this Full Moon, and of the span of its influence, will be setting Boundaries against the Abuses of the Patriarchy.
(3) It should be obvious how closely all this is Related to our recent adventures in Removing our Masks. This represents a Major Shift in our Consciousness, as we begin to realize how much we’ve (been) Changed, and as we begin the hard work of rebuilding our Cultures to reflect our new Awareness.
(4) As our Consciousness Shifts, so will our Values, very Powerfully – so you can be liberal with your Yes-Ands about letting your Values Grow along with the rest of you and your sphere of influence.
Methinks we’ll see some very profound Changes in the near Future, even perhaps our long-awaited Tripping Point.
(1) The asteroid Lachesis, the dwarf planet Quaoar, and the Galactic Center all stand behind this Full Moon. That’s a heavy lineup. Lachesis measures the thread that determines the length of a Lifetime. Quaoar provides Guidance that permits Survival. And the Galactic Center is the Source of our Bottom-Line Energy, the Sun’s Sun’s Sun so to speak. In a word, Headquarters.
The Quaoar-Lachesis Initiation occurred 18 March in 30 Sagittarius, which reflects the Power of Ritual.
(2) In addition, the asteroid Klotho (she who cuts the cloth for the Lifeline that Lachesis measures) begins a gauntlet on Solstice Day, as it Opposes dwarf planet 2007 OR10 (potentially disruptive material erupting from deep within the Unconscious). It Opposes Centaur and dwarf planet Nessus (Abuse and Privilege) on 26 June, and is Initiated by dwarf planet Orcus (Dismantling of Obsolete Oaths) on 28 June.
The Klotho-OR10 Cycle (An Assignment from the Deeps) that’s now Blooming was Initiated at the Northern Winter Solstice in 2014 in 2 Pisces, which is about Removing ourself from Unsafe Situations.
The Klotho-Nessus Cycle (Letting Go of Abuse and Privilege) that’s Flowering as we speak began earlier in December 2014 at 28 Aquarius, which concerns Maintaining our Safety.
The 28 June Klotho-Orcus Initiation (Learning to Discern Living Vows from Dead ones) is at 7 Virgo, which is about Patriarchal Privilege and Enslavement of Females.
Mercury (Awareness and Communication) ran the same Gauntlet (but in Gemini, T-Squaring the lot) from 13-18 June.
The asteroid Atropos (she who cuts the Chord when a Lifeline has run out of thread) will also be T-Squaring everyone from Gemini, for the rest of June.
Pallas (Boundaries) ran this Gauntlet (but in Pisces) during the last half of May, being Initiated by the Three Dwarfs in the same Degrees as Klotho. Pallas is Stationary (Strong) and turning Retrograde on 21 June at 8 Pisces, so she’ll be retracing her steps across this minefield in an Exposition between now and August.
Pallas Initiated Klotho (Starting over with new Boundaries) on New Years Day 1980 at 28 Aquarius (Maintaining our Safety). This was the year that the 1% resumed their Control over the US government for the first time since the early 1930s. The Klotho-Pallas Opposition (Flowering) occurs on 30 June.
Because Klotho’s orbit is less than three months shorter than Pallas’s, their Cycles are very long and irregular, and their speeds are so similar that it’s difficult to identify their Angles with certainty. A previous Opposition occurred in 1934. If this Cycle proves to be correlated with the tug of war between the People and the Lizards, then we could see a return to relative Democracy by 2020.
We’ll need it, because with current trends by the time the Digital Age begins in 2020, there will be four very distinct classes of people in the “developed” World: the Owners, the Engineers and Coders, the Servants, and the Indigent.
(3) The Full-Moon Opposition is Bridged by a Trine from the Sun to the asteroid Juno (the Edges of Consciousness), which is Stationary (Strong) and turning Direct on 22 June.

(4) Venus (Values, Walking in Beauty) Quintiles (Learning) Uranus-Eris-Ceres (Making our new Honesty with Ourself a Permanent part of our Psyche and Personality) and Jupiter-North Node (Expanding into our Mission) from 18 June till 22 June, wrapping itself around the Solstice Moon, as Uranus-Eris-Ceres and Jupiter-North Node Biquintile (Learning – Cementing – new Patterns) one another.
Eris and Uranus both Initiate Ceres on 21 and 23 June at the familiar 24 Aries, the Picture of Abundance.
Jupiter Initiates the North Node on 24 June in 17 Virgo, which concerns “The explosive energy of long-repressed contents of the Unconscious.“
The Biquintile between Uranus-Eris-Ceres and Jupiter-North Node persists in one subset or another from 6 May till 22 July, so this has been an integral part of our Mask-Replacement endeavors as well.
The Loss of the Veil that separates additional Dimensions from the Linear 3-4D Reality we believe ourselves to be Living in, was forecast in the 1/1/2000 chart, as Neptune Conjoined the South Node. Here’s a story about that.
A friend managed to trip and free-fall from a standing position, hands otherwise engaged, onto their hip on a hard floor. My friend is for their age still young and robust enough, thanks partly to Yoga, that no bones were broken, and they knew enough about self-care to treat themselves very Gently, so, thus far, there seems to be no significant damage to their Vehicle (that is, physical Body). They did have the thought that if they were older they could easily have broken their hip. Afterward they went to their Yoga class, and by “luck” received a half-hour massage from a master healer there.
Now here’s the weird part. When they got back from Yoga, there were two voice messages from their adult child waiting. My friend did not go to the hospital, no need. But their adult child got two calls from a hospital across town, saying that their parent had been released from the hospital and was okay. Not one call but two. They verified that the calls were actually from the hospital, or at least that they appeared to be from a phone number registered to the hospital.
The adult child wasn’t even first on the hospital’s notification list, they were second. The first person on the list got no calls. Probably just a software error or newbie operator error, as hospitals ramp up their new-fangled digital medical records capabilities, right?
Phone numbers can be spoofed, but that would still leave many questions about who knew about the fall, and who would have a motivation to spoof a call from the hospital. Maybe someone in their Yoga class was a closet hacker, overheard the story, and was planning to spoof bills from the hospital. That would be plausible in the US, but my friend lives in a civilized country, with single-payer healthcare, so scamming is unlikely.
Following Castaneda, one of our strategies for Living in times of rapid Change (such as Now), is that, the more Perspectives we can collect, the better we’ll be prepared for a World going Weird. It’s also a Challenge to Consciousness, as we often get to hold Contradictory Beliefs at the same time, reminding us that there are no Contradictions in Nature, only in the mind. Mind is Dualistic – Either/or; Nature is Mutivarious and Unitary – Both/And. Apparent Paradoxes just mean that we still see through the glass darkly.
One of the side effects of String Theory, which is still a useful way to look at sub-nano-scale physics, is that there are probably something like 11 or 12 Dimensions rather than 3 or 4, most of which are hidden from our very limited five senses – most of us can’t even see or feel radio waves.
One possible consequence of String Theory is that there may actually be a very large number of alternate Universes, possibly supporting the notion of Parallel Lives. One possible Perspective on this is that, each time we make a Decision, a part of ourself branches off and follows that path into an alternate Universe, while other parts of ourself take different paths into other alternate Universes.
So, again, remember that this is an exercise in Consciousness-stretching, not any proclamation of the way it really may be. We have no idea what’s really out there. But do keep in mind that the Veil is thinning, the Veil which separates the various alternate Universes. Our friend isn’t trained in the Occult Arts, but definitely has the natural aptitude for them.
Our friend did not report doing a “Cancel, Neutralize, Upgrade” or a “Revert” on their Thought about how in a different circumstance bones could have broken. Thoughts have Power. That’s why we Cancel the Thought, Neutralize the Vibrations produced, and Upgrade the Thinker when we encounter a “negative” Thought about an outcome we wouldn’t Want to Live through.
I’m suggesting that one way to make sense of the hospital’s weird calls, is that my friend’s Thought triggered a loose thread dangling from the fabric of an alternate Universe, which bled through to their child’s Linear Reality. The bleedthrough may be an invitation to my friend to further develop their natural abilities in the Occult Arts – it wouldn’t be the first invitation they’ve received recently.
Now, as Robert Moss often reminds us about our Dreams, some of them are prophetic, so it behooves us to be mindful of that possibility. Dreams, Thoughts, what’s the difference. “Cancel, Neutralize, Upgrade” has the potential to reduce the likelihood of prophesy, but it pays as we get older to Pay Closer Attention to what we do and reduce our multitasking, in order to increase our Mindfulness of each Action that we take.
It would be a good idea for my friend to Tap Out their Thought, with a phrase something like “Even though I Feared that I could break bones, I deeply and completely Love and Accept myself.” It could save them a future trip to the hospital. If you’re thinking about Fate just now, Moss reports many instances where he’s had Dreams that turned out to be prophetic, but he’s recognized the Drama as it unfolded, and cut it short, avoiding the negative result of the Dream. We haven’t finished Co-Creating the Future yet.
Let’s finish up August, as I’m eager to write about some fairly remarkable events coming up in September.
Our Old Egos are due for a comeuppance at, around, and/or after the 29 August Full Moon.
Most of us still have one foot in the Old Industrial-Era World of Exploitation, and a portion of our Identity likely remains wrapped up in that. Whether the Old Order gives us Validity through our Achievements or through Socialization with our workmates, gives us Security through our income, gives us a sense of Value through our “contributions to society,” gives us Juice because of the Competition, or however it props up our Self-Worth, we could be due for a shock.
If this occurs, Acknowledge and Witness any Fear or Anger or Grief that arises, and be Loving and Gentle with it. Review your understanding of Ego Death (https://astrobuss.wordpress.com/category/identity/ego-death/ ), so you can respond positively to the signs after you acknowledge their Veracity.
Your other foot is already in the New post-Apocalypse World of Collaboration and Cooperation. You may be growing some of your own food, establishing neighborhood tool-sharing, kickstarting or funding new ventures, playing with 3-D printers and milling machines at your local Makerspace, downsizing your use of resources, promoting Equality, or any number of other Activities oriented toward a Sustainable and Regenerative World. Once you’ve Embraced your Emotions about whatever nicked your Old-World Identity, redouble your Efforts toward your New-World Identity. If there’s a Leap of Faith involved, go for it.
While the Jupiter-Neptune Opposition isn’t Exact until 16 September, the Full Moon sits across it. On the same September day Makemake (CreativeManifestation, and it’s no accident that Makemake shares a name with the Maker Movement) Initiates the North Node (our Mission). This Opposition is a blooming of the Jupiter-Neptune Cycle that began in late May 2009, at 27 Aquarius. Long-time readers may recognize that as having occurred within a few days of the Chiron-Jupiter Initiation in the same Degree, and within a few months of the Neptune-Chiron Initiation, also in the same Degree, “Fresh Violets in an ancient pottery bowl.” This is the “New Paradigm” we’ve written much about, and which we regard as the major correlate with the Wall Street Crash of 2007-8. Meanwhile, the Full Moon very closely T-Squares the asteroid Hybris, a “misspelling” of hubris.
Jupiter is now past its Waning Square to Saturn, which means we’re dropping into the Void with regard to Social and Economic Activities, so we’re overdue for a review of the Jupiter-Saturn Cycles. Saturn-Jupiter Initiations occur in the same Element (Fire, Earth, Air, Water) for two Centuries, then they switch, with a stutter between Elements. The Industrial Revolution and it’s Wage-Slave consequences spanned the last two Centuries of Earth-Sign Initiations. Then, almost exactly coincident with the introduction of the mass-compatible (IBM-Microsoft) personal computer, the 1980 Initiation occurred in an Air Sign. The final Earth-Sign Initiation that followed, in 2000, coincided almost to the day with the “Dot-Com Crash,” initiating twenty years where we’re reviewing the Industrial Revolution to see what elements of it we want to keep as we move into the Digital Age.
The next Saturn-Jupiter Initiation in 2020 will be again in an Air-Sign, as will the following seven Initiations, till our first Water-Sign Initiation in 2160. While we think of the Age of Aquarius as being about Harmony and Understanding, Sympathy and Trust abounding, Aquarius is also an Air Sign, and Air Signs are about mindstuff and Duality. So while the advances in Scienterrific Knowledge and Technological Gadgetry will be phenomenal, the Digital-Age potential to Create Sustainability and Regeneration will depend on a lot more than thinking. Aquarians will need to do a lot more than sitting in the pub arguing about which Political system makes them happiest. Hence the importance of what we’ve been calling the New Paradigm and its implications for greater Equality.
Meanwhile, we’re in the last quarter of the last Earth-Sign Jupiter-Saturn Cycle, and the last quarter of a Cycle is about “Descending” into chaos (Disorder, not the dwarf planet). Interesting that many folks are focused on Ascension while our Social and Economic Order is Descending. We need to look for a moment through Rudolph Steiner’s eyes – while Ascension is about Matter merging into Spirit, Descension is about Spirit merging into Matter, one being no less Sacred than the other.
What normally occurs during the last quarter of a Cycle, is that the proponents of the Old Order redouble their Efforts to propagandize everyone into believing that the Status Quo is alive, well, and will Live on forever, while scrambling to keep their cheeks covered. In the interim, everyone else is focused on their struggle to keep it together. If we take a hint from the dwarf planet Chaos, though, and see the Trend for what it is – deconstruction of the Old to make Space for the unlimited potential of the New – and we avoid trying to pin down the New before the next Cycle starts, as that would simply perpetuate the Old – then we can Cooperate in destructuring our Old Patterns and making Empty Space for New Patterns to evolve into.
Two days after the Full Moon – a sufficiently short time that these two events will be closely intertwined – we enter a new province in our Relationship Dramas. Since this applies more than anything to our Inner Female and Inner Male, it’s impact will be wide-ranging. Notice the shift yesterday? Eris is no longer Stationary (Strong), as of about 7am PDT July 19 (http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pdt7.htm). I started feeling a lot more in control of my Life, which is appropriate, since Eris is in charge of bringing Unconscious material forward so we can start to understand what it wants to tell us. Denial is a healthy process; without it we’d be overwhelmed all of the time. But sooner or later, the time comes when any given Denied cluster of Emotions and Memories and thoughts is ready to leave the closet, and Eris guards that threshold. So Eris always involves Life Changes, and Anxiety is a natural result.
Eris is now Retrograde, and Retrogrades over 24-23 Aries, till January 2016.
A Duad or Dwad, recall, is two and a half degrees. Each Sign is made up of twelve Duads, starting with its own and continuing ’round the Loop – for instance, the first Duad of Libra is the Libra Duad of Libra, the second the Scorpio Duad of Libra, the seventh the Aries Duad of Libra, and the twelfth is the Virgo Duad of Libra.

We’re in the process of planning the final version of a project we’ve been working on since 1926. Those heady years at the end of the 1920s, before the Big Crash, were aflame with Excess. For the first several years after the Crash, we thought the hair of the dog might solve the problem, as the high rollers convinced people that their tired version of Excess-and-Trickledown would still work.
That was the Aries Duad – 1926-1934. From 1935-1943, Eris moved through the Taurus Duad of Aries. In the Aries Duad, we celebrate the birth of a new Era. In the Taurus Duad we settle down and see how it applies to Material Life – does it grow Corn? Non-GMO of course.
It took almost a decade of deprivation before Hitler gave us an excuse to crank up the Keynesian war machine and put everybody back to work. And eight years after that before we were able to shift the US economy from bombs to cars. “What’s good for General Motors is good for the USA,” was a prominent propaganda slogan in the US.
The Gemini Duad spanned 1943-1952, the Cancer Duad 1952-1962. (About a third of this blog’s readers live outside the US. I’m hoping that with the years listed, you can translate these trends to your own history and herstory.) The Cancer Duad of a Sign is the equivalent of the Waxing Square of a Cycle – the time when “the Energy becomes permanent”; till the Waxing Square a new Energy is pretty much underground, once the Initial Celebration wears off.
Remember tail fins? Some of them looked like they really might fly. Henry Ford’s version of predatory capitalism (pay them enough so they can afford to buy your product, but make sure your product doesn’t last too long, so they’ll have to buy another one) brought back a resurgence of Excess. Then the “spoiled” youngsters got too rambunctious (and Toyota got too talented) and ruined the party.
The 1963-1973 Leo Duad corresponded with the Pluto in Leo generation coming “of age,” and Uranus Conjoining Pluto – a potent combination for feeling bullet-proof. Till Kent State. The Virgo Duad spanned 1973-1984. The Virgo Duad is about making our Fearless Moral Inventory so we can start over on a more stable footing.
The Ford-Carter years were a Wandering in the Wilderness, as folks tried to figure out whether they wanted to be young or old. Eventually, they decided they preferred old – doddering even, as Reagan and Bush began disassembling the “Welfare State” so we (or they, depending on which side of the Trickledown you were on) could return to the Roaring Twenties.
Eris crossed the Libra Duad of Aries in 1984-1994, the Scorpio Duad in 1995-2004, and the Sagittarius Duad in 2005-2015.
Which is where we are now, as Obama tries to cement his Trans-Pacific Partnership in place so capitalism, fascism, and Excess can rule the whole planet.
That’s using the 12-Sign all-progress view of Time. In the Cyclical approach to Time, rather than developing one theme for all twelve portions of the Cycle, the Energy peaks after seven and a half Signs, and for the last four and a half Signs, the Energy declines in order to Open Space for a new Energy that will follow. From this perspective, the Age of Excess began to decline around the turn of the Century, at the Dot-Com Crash.
Which makes absolute sense, as the decade which followed was about piling derivatives on top of derivatives. A “derivative” is a wager – a bet, for instance, that the price of Tea in China will rise or fall. While producing Tea provides a benefit to society (assuming you don’t think Tea is evil), wagering on its price does not – it only benefits the winner of the bet. And creating derivatives of derivatives – wagers on wagers (such as betting that your bet is wrong) – creates a situation where eventually almost everyone loses, as no Energy is devoted to benefiting society, and the inevitable “margin call” (where everyone is asked to put up more cash to serve as bond to back up their wagers) can wipe out all but the most predatory players.
And it is worth noting that derivatives now are many times as large and multiplicative as they were prior to the last Crash, and that they’re held in far fewer hands – in other words, the next Crash is likely to make 1929 look like lunch.
From the Cyclical Perspective, the Capricorn Duad is when we start thinking seriously about alternative ways to fixthe failures and shortcomings of the earlier Duads. Since Eris is about what we’ve been Denying, this is probably a far more useful Perspective.
So we’re on an Edge here, where to gain maximum personal advantage (at the expense of social advantage) we may want to keep a few chips in the Game, because the stakes are getting very high and the odds long, so a win could pay off big. On the other hand, the longer the odds the lower the likelihood of a win, so we want to have most of our chips under the mattress, after they’ve been converted into a form that will survive the Crash, whatever that might be. Have they GMO’d a mold-proof Corn yet?
Is (Self-)Love, Sweet (Self-)Love / That’s the only thing that there’s just too little of…
A reader writes:
“You said, ‘If you know where your Natal planets are, and you have planets in any of these zones, that will show where you will have the greatest Power to change the Future.’ Where is my greatest power? (Where are my planets?)“
They were born in the early 1950s. Saturn Squared Chiron repeatedly from 1945 to 1952 (Chiron as the Soul’s Messenger was busy giving Saturn as the Ego its post-war “marching orders”), Chiron Opposed Uranus from 1951 to 1956 (Chiron as the Messenger picking up a new Message from Uranus as the Soul), and Saturn Squared Uranus in 1951 and 1952 (Let’s make sure Soul and Ego are Aligned). Between 1954 and 1956, Uranus Squared Neptune. That was the Waning Square prior to the 1993 Conjunction that we discussed earlier.
Our reader has a Natal Grand Cross (a Grand Cross keeps a person very busy putting out one “fire” after another – they become a Master at multi-tasking) between a Uranus-Chiron Opposition (Awareness of the apparent distinction between Yintegrity and Reframing – maybe a shred of lingering doubt about the practice of keeping thoughts positive) and a Jupiter-Saturn Opposition (possible chronic uncertainty about whether to extrovert or introvert, advance or retreat, expand or focus). In general a Grand Cross keeps us too busy “putting out fires” to worry about the frustrations in each of its four T-Squares.
But in our reader’s chart the Moon is close to Saturn, making a more exact T-Square with Uranus and Chiron. Still, our reader may not experience this as a T-Square per se (a T-Square meaning frustration because in this Lifetime their Soul’s objective isn’t to “get it right” but to explore all the angles) directly, but more as part of their Grand Cross (it’s “always something”!). If they did experience it as a T-Square it would be about something like being frustrated by never seeming to be able to get Yintegrity and Reframing aligned just right to Manifest exactly what they Want.
As is typical of a T-Square, they’re likely to be much more of an expert at Manifesting through Reframing and Yintegrity than they give themselves credit for.
This Moon-Uranus-Chiron T-Square is lit up by the ongoing Uranus-Pluto Square at 8-12 of the Cardinal Signs and the repeated T-Squares made to it by Ceres, Vesta, Pallas, Jupiter, Lilith, Mars, and others in 2013 and early 2014. We don’t get a break from the Uranus-Pluto Square until June-October 2014, when Uranus moves ahead. Then in January 2015, as Uranus sets up for its final March Squaring of Pluto, the South Node crosses Uranus. We’ll be very grateful then, for any work we’ve done in the interim to Shed our Masks.
Consequently, one of our reader’s roles in the evolution of the Planet at this time is to help other people Manifest through Yintegrity and Reframing. Our reader expressed frustration with a few of their close friends who keep arguing with them – but these friends may not have much in 8-12 of the Cardinal Signs, so they may not be responsive to our reader’s efforts to help them Manifest through Yintegrity and Reframing, nor to our reader’s efforts to help them Shed their Masks.
The point is that our reader may not be feeling appreciated for one of their greatest talents, and this could triggers their own Self-Doubt about whether it’s even a skill, since it’s so subtle, and since they seldom seem (in their own eyes) to “get it right” anyway. It’s a T-Square after all. The Spiritual Purpose of having the T-Square light up, is to give our reader one more opportunity to drop their Self-Judgment and find appreciation for their Skills and Expertise – this is what the New Earth is all about: everyone finding appreciation for their own Skills and Expertise, so they can put these Skills to work without being intimidated by the bullies who are doing everything the can to maintain the status quo and worse, push the species and the Planet backwards.
There are many other people who need this help from our reader, people who might not want to argue about it – they may just be dumbfounded by it (while they think through the implications of a Reframe), or their Resistance might argue (you can always tell when it’s someone’s Resistance that’s arguing, because their arguments are ingenuine), or they might just be nonplussed (if it’s not a Teachable Moment for them).
Here’s the nature of our reader’s Skill that others need – both for our reader to help solve their distress, and to learn from our reader, either by watching and imitating our reader or by our reader’s instruction. Since someone somewhere is adept at just about anything we can name, it follows that any ineptitude we suffer from is due to Self-Sabotage – either we’re trying to be someone we aren’t, or our Limiting Beliefs stop us from reorganizing our view of the World so that what we Want is as easy for us to get as it is for others. Like cashflow for instance, to take a currently-relevant example – for some it’s effortless to the point of Avarice, for others its difficult to the point of desperation.
So with this Moon-Uranus-Chiron T-Square, when our reader Wants something, they probably consciously or unconsciously run through a process something like this…
First they ask themself whether it’s really in Yintegrity for them. If it isn’t, they Reframe the Want. My favorite example of this is the red convertible – maybe when they examine a Desire for that, it might turn out that what they really Want is for people to recognize who they are and give them respect. The heuristic is to imagine how they’ll feel when driving the red convertible.
Second, they look to see what inhibits their Desire, and move to Both/And. Maybe it’s shyness, or pragmatism, or simply more pressing Needs that keep them out of their red convertible. So they look for a Win-Win Reframe. Is their shyness Karmic? Can they be more loving with their shy Self? Do they overdo pragmatism? What would happen if they loosened up a little? What would they need to have or do in order to bring more Self-Respect into satisfying their more pressing Needs?
Third, they Focus their Intention, Change the Subject, and then follow the threads that present themselves. They may notice that they’re out of Bananas and set off to the store to get some. When they pull into the store parking lot, another shopper is just getting into a red convertible with a For Sale sign on it. Because the seller needs the money, the price, though more than a bunch of Bananas, is far below what they’d expect to pay. Excited, they go over to talk to the driver. But when they walk around the car, they see that there’s an obvious and serious rust problem on the other side of the car.
They’re deflated because they would NOT feel Self-Respect while driving a rusty red convertible! They did everything right, and they still got shut down. Discouraging! It’s a T-Square, not a Trine – it’s not about getting it right, it’s about exploring the Edges. And it’s Chiron – Miracles and Despair, and the many paths between them. But any Square, T-Square, or Grand Cross is motivating – our reader will be out there practicing their Manifestation techniques again tomorrow, maybe not on a red convertible, but something else. Even though the results are never perfect, they keep working at it.
And exactly that motivation and perseverance and willingness to explore all the angles is how they’ve become an expert on Manifestation through Yintegrity and Reframing. They just may not recognize their expertise because it never works out perfectly. But that process is exactly what they’re being called to Teach. They go into the store to get their Bananas, and without thinking about it they start a casual conversation with a stranger in the produce section.
Turns out this stranger is trying to Manifest a better job. Our reader instinctively asks them what it is about their current job that’s out of Yintegrity for them (in our reader’s own words, of course, without defining Yintegrity for the stranger). Our reader asks the stranger what’s holding them back from making a change, and without even thinking about it suggests ways they might Reframe their fear of Change. In our reader’s own words, they ask the stranger about the Focus of their Intention, and whether the stranger may be so Focused on the downsides that they don’t see the opportunities for upside when they arise.
This is what our reader does, it’s who they are. And the World needs that, badly. People are struggling with what they fear are the downsides of dropping their Masks, even though they’re highly motivated to do so. If my story rings any bells at all for our reader, the World is asking them to walk around and be themself, talk to strangers, listen to their stories, ask them questions that lead them along a path that our reader might have taken if our reader was in their shoes. Not to worry about responses; some will thank our reader, some won’t. Others will overhear. It’s the process that evolves the species, not the results.
Above all, our reader needs to let go of Perfection and Judgment, and just let themself Be themself. It’s not about doing anything different or unusual – other then dropping Self-Judgment and reticence, and letting themselves just be who they really are.
