Pholus-Quaoar V

With the Pholus Station at 27 Sagittarius and the Quaoar Station only two Degrees and one day later, it would be totally appropriate to draw up one chart for both.  With our usual three Degrees of Sensitivity, we’d include planets between 24 and 2 Degrees.  Of course the Moon moves 12-14 Degrees in that one day, so we’ll take that into account.  Asteroids move on average only about a quarter of a Degree per day, so that would come out in the wash.

In this case though there were several planets on the bubble, and when a Sensitivity Span crosses a Sign Boundary, that’s worth extra consideration.  So for these Stations we drew up two separate charts, and as it turned out they look quite different.  Here’s the Quaoar Station…

The primary Configuration here is a Diamond Star (which is a T-Square – red triangle – and a Finger of God – green wedge – pointing to the same astrolocation), focused on the Double Station.  A Diamond Star is a T-Square (Challenge to Mastery) made Easy by the “Bowl of Grace” under (here “over” – the Diamond Star is upside down) the Opposition that forms the base of the T-Square (the Trines and Sextiles between Vesta, Ceres-Aletheia-Varuna, Moon-Sedna, and Chiron).

There was a Diamond Star in the Pholus Station chart as well, but it got lost among all of the other Configurations.  This one is emphasized because Sedna Initiates the Moon only an hour and a half before the Station, at 27 Taurus.  We’ll talk about that later.  The addition of Mercury-Atropos (Ending Obsolete Thought Patterns) on the Virgo Cusp also adds a Grand Trine (Dumb-Luck Grace) pointing to the Double Station.

Trines are Harmonious because all three planets are in the same Element – Sagittarius, Aries, and Leo are all Fire Signs.  But when one of the three planets laps over into an adjacent Sign – here, Mercury-Atropos dipping their toes into Virgo – that Harmony is disturbed.  It’s still a Dumb-Luck Grand Trine, it’s just not quite as Lucky or Easy.  While Mercury-Atropos Trines the Double Station by Degree, it Squares the Double Station by Sign.  Sign-Angles are much weaker than Degree-Angles, but not vanishingly so.

Envision your Fire Grand Trine as three Goddesses Dancing Ecstatically around a Fire under a New Moon, throwing off Spiritual Blessings as they Dance.  When you add the Virgo Cusp into the mix, one of the Goddesses would be throwing off Ego Deaths as their Spiritual Blessing.  Not that this isn’t a Blessing; for most of us most of the time, an Ego Death is necessary for Growth.  They could even be throwing off Painless Ego Deaths, though with Mercury and Virgo, probably not.

So the Challenge Made Easy in this case is the Challenge to our Limiting Beliefs (Vesta) and our Ability and Willingness to Embrace our Victim till they Surrender into our Love and become Transformed into Power (Chiron), as those are our major Obstacles to Becoming Fully Responsive to Instructions from Headquarters (Pholus-Quaoar).  The Finger of God tells us that we can Resolve Fear of Receiving Abundance (Moon-Sedna) and Limitations to the Sustainability of our Life Force (Ceres-Aletheia-Varuna) by Becoming Fully Responsive to Instructions from Headquarters.

The two Squares lurking in the Bowl of Grace “under” the Diamond Star are actually Opportunities, if we Choose to see them that way.  One of them Allows us to End Obsolete Thought Patterns (Mercury-Atropos) that hinder our Willingness to Manifest Gifts (Moon-Sedna).  Sedna represents Fear, yes, but remember that Fear plus Breathing equals Excitement, and Fear plus Kegels puts you into the “Zone” where you can Create Miracles because Time slows down and you can see how you might bring into Consciousness processes that otherwise occur too fast for you to notice them.

The doorway to this Opportunity is any hint of Victimy around your Willingness and Ability to Surprise and Delight yourself with Unexpected Gifts from the Universe.  Sure, you’ve never Manifested that before, but there’s always a first time.  Your Doubts and Discouragements will postpone that first time as long as you Choose to Nurture them instead of Nurturing What You Want.  If you’ve got a lot of Aries and can’t tolerate Delayed Gratification, Poor-Sweetheart your Impatience and work up a cordial, Fun, Light-Hearted Relationship between “you” (your Identity of the Moment) and your Lust for Immediate Gratification.

The second Challenge/Opportunity is about your “Upper Limits” (Uranus Square to Ceres-Aletheia-Varuna).  You hit Upper Limits when you bump up against Guilt because you’re having too much Fun, or you’re “Over” Indulging in your Yintegrity (Setting your own Priorities about how you spend your Time).  Guilt may mean you have Amends to make, if you Value the Relationship with the person who’s involved in your Guilt.  Make them, so you can see what happens after that.  If the Relationship isn’t worth it to you, use your Mirrors to return their Energy to them, then Flood them with Light and Love as you Bless them on their way.

Okay, how about that “Sedna Initiates the Moon only an hour and a half before the Station, at 27 Taurus”?  27 Taurus is the location of Algol, the “Curse” of Feminine Sexual Power.  This deserves a long quote from Bernadette Brady’s Brady’s Book of Fixed Stars (pp.188-191)…

“All writers agree that this is the most malefic star in the heavens and causes hangings, death by the loss of one’s head, and any other foul, demonic deed that could befall the [male] human race.”

The Arabs called her “Head of the Demon,” “wife of the devil,” the brightest star in the Gorgon’s head.  She was “Piled up Corpses” to the Chinese.  In the esoteric Jewish Tradition she was Adam’s first wife Lilith, who “left him because she refused to be submissive to his needs” and became a “demon of the wind” that “gave sexual pleasure and was the cause of all male wet dreams.”

“Laughter – does anybody remember Laughter?” as Robert Plant put it.

Algol “embodied everything that men feared in the feminine…  She is female kundalini energy…  Algol, in other words, is the wild, raw, frightening face of the outraged feminine which has been labeled as demonic or simply evil…  Immense female passion and power…. the power of Mother Nature, not to be called evil for being strong.”

“Algol represents a strong consuming passion that may devour you with anger and rage.  If one can contain an unconscious compulsion to take revenge, and focus that passion into a more productive outcome, Algol is one of the most powerful stars in the sky.  Whatever planet it affects in your chart will be charged with strong, intense, sexual energy that has the potential to be wonderful or, if repressed, to lead to rage or violence.”

Hoo boy, no wonder some folks Experience Sedna as Anger rather than Fear – a healthy reaction, actually.  While Anger might get you Dead, your odds are probably better than they are with Fear.  How appropriate, as we Transition from the Oppressive Yang Male to the Yang Female Age, that Sedna should park on Algol.

The Sabian Symbol for 27 Sagittarius is “An old Indian woman selling the artifacts of her tribe to passers-by.”  Indigenous Peoples cherish their Ancestors, so this image is of someone driven by desperation to sell off her Heritage.  The Moon-Sedna Cycle lasts one month, so we should be watchful over the next month for situations of Self-Betrayal.
