A bit early for the Saturn-Neptune Square, since it’s not exact till 26 November and there’s a lot going on between now and then; it’s likely to be at least 20 November before we feel it unadulterated, and that’s only if we’ve Embraced and Let Go of all of the other intervening Energies.  But Saturn is within two Degrees of Squaring Neptune, and we usually arbitrarily draw the Sensitivity line for interplanetary Angles at three Degrees, so we have to consider the Waning Saturn-Neptune Square to be Present in the background.  The Saturn-Neptune Cycle is about Redefining the Culture.  Neptune today (1 November) is only five Arcminutes from its 18 November Station, and we usually arbitrarily draw the Sensitivity line for Stations at one Degree, so we’re well within the realm of the Neptune-Station Energy as well.  Neptune Stations are about Shifting our Perceptions of the World around us, particularly our Relations with our Culture.

Astrologers call it “orb,” we call it “Sensitivity,” and another apt name for it would be “slop.”  Most of us don’t feel astrological Angles as discrete points, we feel them as Energies gradually increasing up to the point where the Angle is exact, then falling off rapidly after that.  If we’re Conscious of the Energy.  If we aren’t Conscious of it and we Blame it on some element of our Material Lives, and make Decisions based on that Blame, we can carry the Energy into the Future, sometimes a long way into the Future.

November III – Let My Limits Go

With thanks to Soulspeak ( https://soulspeak2013.wordpress.com/ ) for the introduction.  Nothing there I would question, and I recognize many threads that I’ve been writing about.  I don’t usually read or understand “Ascension” material, but this one rings clear as a bell from start to end.

At the New Moon Mars lights up the North Node and ongoing Nodal T-Square, while Venus crosses Makemake.  The New Moon Trine-Bridges the Jupiter-Chiron Opposition.

We’re again moving some astrologuese up from its usual “indented-normal for-astrologer type” to bold italic for-everyone type because we think it’s important for us to Learn to Discern these new Energies.

We get the opportunity to know the dwarf planet and “Centaur” Nessus as it dominates 12 November and the few to several days prior.  Look for situations involving assumption of Privilege and corresponding Abuse, both inner (Feelings of Outrage, flashbacks to Powerlessness) and outer (people exhibiting Arrogance or Acting as if they deserve what they don’t).  We could also gain Insight into elements of Privilege in our own Attitudes.  By and large Nessus symbolizes Masculine Privilege, but anyone can be overassertive or have inappropriate Expectations of Other.  In this instance it’s our Beliefs about Privilege that may be lit up most.  

Rather than Reacting against Privilege in the outer World, Empathize with your internal Reactions to it – “You poor Sweetheart, that Bully really scares you doesn’t he.”  Your Fear and their Bullying interlock.  No one Changes Other, we only Change ourself.  When we Witness our Fear, Tapping it out if necessary, the key no longer fits in the lock, and the Bully has to go elsewhere to try to exercise their presumed Privilege.  When there is no one left to Bully, their only choice will be to Grieve their Loss of Privilege.

Nessus (Privilege) is Stationary (Strong) at 10am PST ( http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pst10.htm ) 12 November, followed 23 hours later by the Station of Vesta (Belief).  The Nessus influence should be Stronger prior to its Station, but Belief is likely to be involved.  While Nessus will be Stonger, it will also be more Subtle, as the impact of Nessus will be largely Unconscious.  The Nessus Station is at 0:00 Pisces and the Vesta Station at 29 Pisces.  Both are turning Direct.  The Quaoar-Chariklo-Hylonome-Galactic Center Stellium is already asking us to Let Go of and Grieve Privilege, while the 1/1/2000 Ceres Rising asks us to Let Go of anything excess to Sustenance.  These projects are building blocks for the Foundation of Community with Equality.

After 13 November we begin to slide into Confusion.  If you’ve changed your iPhone password to “cNf*Shn7=gD” you might remember that Confusion is the first stage of Growth.  Peaking at 9am PST (  http://www.jbuss.com/tt/pst9.htm ) on 18 November and dominating the few to several days prior, this is Neptune: Confusion when looking through Material eyes and Clarity when viewing through Spiritual eyes.  This is the time when Collective Attitudes shift, as the different Cultures on the Planet Stop and look around.  There may be recognitions that while Forms are different from one Culture to another, Motives are the same.  Neptune represents the “World as it is ‘seen’ by ALL” as Lightlover puts it, but ALL within your Culture.  More important, it’s how you interpret your Culture, when seen through your personal filters.  As in most Huper endeavors, the variation within a Culture is greater than the variation between Cultures.  We profile the external Forms, not the Spiritual Essence.

Between 9am PST 18 November and 5pm PST 19 November, we’re bathed in the almost-unadulterated Energies of the unnamed dwarf planet 2007 OR10.  In a nutshell, we’d say that “OR10” is about Becoming Conscious of our Unconscious Beliefs, disidentifying with the Archetypes, and shedding the Ego Deaths involved.  OR10 contributes much Grace to this process.  Based on this, OR10 is a very important Energy for us to get to know.  Once we begin to do this in a serious way, OR10 will get a proper name.  We say “almost-unadulterated” because there’s quite a bit of cross-contamination between OR10 and Neptune; we’re focusing on our Beliefs about what our Culture is likely to tolerate, while our Culture stretches its Beliefs about what can be permitted without damaging the Collective.

Till it gets a name, we need to depend on the “Discovery” chart to understand OR10.  Concentrating on the portion of the chart that includes OR10 itself, the dominant feature is a T-Square and Diamond Star focused on the Stellium of Vesta, Pholus, and Hylonome – Taking Responsibility for Unconscious Beliefs and Grieving the concomitant Loss of Identity.  The base of the T-Square is the Opposition from OR10 to Moon-Venus.  The base of the Finger of God that completes the Diamond Star is the Sextile from Mercury to the Centaur Asbolus (Intuition).  In addition, Pluto and a Lilith-Chariklo Conjunction complete a Grand Sextile.  The Vacancy Opposite the Vesta-Pholus-Hylonome Stellium is 1 Gemini, “A glass-bottomed boat reveals undersea wonders: The revelation of unconscious energies and submerged psychic structures.“

The following week is about Endings, as we finish a quarter-century Harmonic-Convergence project to reorganize the foundations of our Cultures.  Over that period Science has verified the validity of the Spiritual Perspective.  That work is done now, and we can move on without Doubt.  We move, however, into a ten-year period where established Cultures seem to fall apart, as they disassemble into Leggo blocks that can be reassembled in more Sustainable ways.  “Without Doubt” means lots of arguments.  Ignore them.  Your best strategy in the Void is “Don’t Know” and “Beginner’s Mind” and Perpetual Curiosity.  Focus on the Silent place from which Inspiration rises, and follow it.  We become our own Leaders.

The 25 November Full Moon Opposes Saturn and is T-Squared by Neptune.  The Saturn-Neptune Square of 26 November is Waning, finishing up a major Harmonic Convergence project, the one about “An illustrated lecture on natural science reveals little-known aspects of life.”

All of the Energies between 10 and 26 November are about Letting Go of Held Emotion.  Be willing to Feel the Emotions, Embrace them, Empathize with yourself in their Trance, Witness them, and Let them Go.  If you Open your Heart to yourself, it will be Intense, but not as Painful as you’d Expect the average Trance Reformation to be.  Change your password to “mBrc+1eTGo99.”

November II – Let My Money Go

That described our Adventures in Self-Knowing, Self-Empathy, and, if we do it “right,” Curiosity and Wonder; this extends till November 10.   We have several other interesting processes going on early in the month as well.  Then things get pretty busy Mid-month.  We get to meet a couple more of the new dwarf planets up close and personal, though we’ll have to squint to distinguish their influence from our more familiar planetary friends, as the events pile up on one another.   The Galaxy is still handing down some pretty firm instructions that if we want to jet-propel our happy Survival in the Future, we need to Let Go of what we don’t really need, especially Beliefs that no longer serve us, and Identities based on Privilege, but “stuff” too.  This Energy will be with us for the rest of the year.

The Quaoar-Chariklo-Hylonome (Survival Rules-Beauty and Charm-Ego Death) Stellium on the Galactic Center (Headquarters) is still T-Squaring (Mastery through Challenge) the Nodes (Linear Time), with Vesta (Unconscious Beliefs) sitting on the South Node (our Habituation) and Makemake (Manifestation) on the North (our Destiny, should we choose to accept it).

Some big Relationship Transformation are upon us, especially our Relationships with our Self, as Fear subsides and we realize that we could leap into Infinite Impossibility by taking more Responsibility for our Pathological Genius.  If we don’t jump at this opportunity in the first few days of the month, New Information may arrive by the end of the first week to catapult us out of our Lazy-Boy.  If you missed our recent article on Pathological Genius, look under “Path…” in the “Categories” column to the right; it’s a loaded term that you don’t want to misinterpret.

Venus and Mars (Heiros Gamos, or Union of the Inner Lad and Inner Lass) Conjoin on 2 November.  It’s not an Initiation or Can-Opener; that occurred last spring, and Venus is just catching up to Mars after her Descent of Inanna.  The Cycle is 2 Aries, “A comedian reveals human nature: The capacity to look objectively at oneself and other.”  They aren’t alone in their Lovebed (Your mother’s ghost stands at your shoulder, but Ixion is involved, so you know somebody’s going to break the rules): the Conjunction T-Squares the Opposition between Chaos (Unlimited Potential) and Pholus-Ixion (Responsibility-Rascal), and Trines Sedna (Action Taken out of Fear).

The Venus-Chaos and Mars-Chaos Cycles are at their Waxing Squares, or the place where they become permanent.  Venus-Chaos is “A large archaic volume reveals a traditional wisdom” (19 Gemini, April 2015) and the Mars-Chaos Cycle is about “A modern cafeteria displays an abundance of food, products of many regions” (20 Gemini, June 2015).  Great to have that option, but Eating Local is more Sustainable.  The Squares to Pholus-Ixion are Waning – Water under the bridge.  We’ve already invested our Passions in our Pathological Genius; now it’s time to sit still and watch what happens.  Meanwhile, more swingers want in…

On 6 November (while Venus crosses the North Node and lights up the Nodal T-Square), Haumea (Rebirth) Opposes Eris (Revelation of Denial – Epiphany if you’re open to it).  This isn’t a Can-Opener either; that occurred last November – keep a journal?  These two will dance together till the end of the decade.  Venus-Mars makes a Quincunx Bridge (Curiosity helps a lot) to this Opposition, and the two Oppositions (Haumea to Eris and Chaos to Pholus-Ixion, the base of the Venus-Mars T-Square) create a Golden Rectangle (Graceful Integration of the Dichotomies).  That is, Chaos Trines Haumea (we could be reborn as anything we Want – or anything we worry too much about if we Choose Anxiety over Intention) and Pholus-Ixion Trines Eris (the New Information is likely to permit – or force – us to Take Responsibility for our Pathological Genius).

This isn’t just another realignment with your paramour.  It’s a major Initiation into the Alternate Culture that will parallel Vulture Capitalism as it rides off into the Sunset with all the Money.  If we substitute a return to Community, Letting the Money Go could be a huge blessing.  The Money Economy might feel the Abandonment around 6 November.

Meanwhile, the Jupiter-Chiron Opposition Can-Opener is exact.  The Jupiter-Chiron Cycle is a powerful one.  The Initiation was May 2009 at 27 Aquarius, “Fresh violets in an ancient pottery bowl,” simultaneous with the famous Chiron-Neptune Opposition (look up “Chiron-Neptune” in the “Categories” if you haven’t been following us for years; this is Big) and with both Chiron and Neptune Standing Still.

When a planet Stands Still (aka is Stationary), it’s at the peak of its Power.  

Imagine Zeus (Jupiter) kneeling with head bowed while the God of the Unconscious Sea places his trident on one of Zeus’s shoulders, and the Ultimate Healer places one hoof on the other shoulder.  It’s as if the Patriarchy was swearing an oath to serve the Goddess’s generals.  This is a preliminary blooming of this development.

Let’s review briefly just to remind how Big this is.  The current Jupiter-Chiron event is a preliminary peak of the much larger Chiron-Neptune Cycle.  Chiron-Neptune Cycles are about Despair and Miracles in the Cultural Unconscious.  The current Cycle began with the Derivatives Crisis of 2007-8 (which the 1% and it’s lapdog media successfully blamed on the Victims of the 1%’s Greed).  The previous Cycle began on the very day that Japan surrendered at the end of World War II.  The end of War created a major Economic disruption, as combatants sought civilian employment, and Arms manufacturers sought alternative markets – the explosives became the artificial fertilizers and the poison gases became the pesticides and pharmaceuticals that have since shortened your lifespan.  The Cycle prior to that was Initiated when much-oversold bonds that financed the US transcontinental railroads collapsed.  It began what was then called the Great Depression, which was renamed the Long Depression in order to honor the Greatness of the Depression of the 1930s.  It lasted from 1890 till World War I.

November I – Let My Masks Go

Juno is moving into place to resurrect the Quincunx Box we saw in early October, this time with Juno Opposite Uranus and Jupiter Opposite Chiron.  None of these are speedsters, so this Configuration will be with us for the next two weeks.  Venus is on Jupiter at the moment, but will move off in a couple of days.

What’ll this Configuration do for us?   More Masks will fall by the wayside (after Halloween of course) as our Soul Self moves further into Consciousness.  To the extent that our Discouragement is Amplified, so also are the Miracles that await when we stop Identifying with Discouragement and Lovingly Witness it instead.  “You poor Sweetheart, you’re feeling pretty Discouraged, aren’t you,” we say to our Emotional Self.  If we’re lucky, She’ll Embrace us back and share some of Her secrets.   Serena Williams, via Wired magazine, suggests that we code our biggest Affirmations into our most-frequently-used passwords, maybe something like “U^poOr}12SH” or “mIanXs?<=1” or “>>$$4Me!!” so they’ll be front and center all the time.  Great idea, since the hardest part is the Noticing! This really does bear repeating, because it’s an effortless way to leap into the Future.  The difficult part is remembering to do it, because when we’re lost in a Held Emotion, we aren’t in the Present Moment, so we forget all of our Present Moment Skills, and our toolbox is limited to whatever tools we had at the age we were when that Emotion got stuck.  In the Recovery Movement from the 1980s, they used the trick question “What color is the wallpaper?”  Since the Present-Moment walls probably aren’t the same color as the walls in our Regressed age, this was often enough to snap part of us back to the Present Moment.  Of course we or an ally still need to remember to Ask the question!  “W1Pap?2grN” The Healing process is as simple as this: you locate or invent a part of yourself that isn’t Identified with whatever Heavy or Negative Emotion you’re Feeling, and you have that part talk back to yourself Lovingly.  “You poor Sweetheart, you’re really Feeling sad, aren’t you.”  You Empathize with yourself.  It’s that simple.  You Witness your Emotion rather than Identifying with it.  As soon as you do this, you no longer are that Emotion, you are Empathy, Compassion.  Then you let your Emotion talk to you.  If “sad” isn’t quite right, She’ll correct you.  She may be able to tell you what was going on with Her then, that gave Her such Grief.  She can probably tell you how old She is.  Even if you hate kids of that age (which isn’t unlikely since She hated that age), you’re going to have to make an exception for Her, since She’s you. We’re using feminine pronouns because Emotion is part of our Magnetic Self – in Western astrology.  Gender roles are reversed and differently organized in many Cultures.  For instance, even in German, the Sun is She (warming, nurturing Mother) and the Moon is He (colder Father, not always There).   If She’s a He in your Body, so be it.  She could be a She at one age and a He at another, depending on who you Identified with at that age.  Notice that it may not actually be the Held Emotion itself that makes you Stuck, but the Helicopter Trips your mind does with the Emotion – “It was my own fault.  No it was their fault,” around and around.  Or even just “It was my own fault.  Why was I so stupid?”  The intellect is part of our Dynamic Self, a He in Western astrology.  Judgment is a He.  Without Judgment, all of your Emotions would be Lovable and you wouldn’t have to get Stuck. Developing a conversation and a Relationship with Her or Him is Powerful, but the act of Witnessing is Powerful in itself.  To Create Miracles you need do nothing else except Witness and then Change the Subject – get your mind busy with something else.  When your Identity shifts from Being a Held Emotion to Witnessing a Held Emotion, you’ve just Changed your position relative to the Universe.  As Einstein said, you can’t solve a problem using the same thinking that postulated the problem.  Your Witness thinks from a different paradigm.  Once you Change the Subject, new approaches to what was formerly Stuck can pop up out of nowhere, because the World is operating under different rules.

All that for Jupiter Opposite Chiron.  In general it’s the Oppositions that animate a Box Configuration.  The Angles on the long side – here Quincunxes – inform us about how the Box is animated.  The Quincunx, five twelfths of the way ’round the Zodiacal loop, represents Curiosity – the Fifth Harmonic symbolizes Learning, and the Twelfth Pattern-Breaking: I Wonder what this Habit might be good for!  

As we’ve said many times, Curiosity is the younger sibling of Love, as they both eschew Judgment.  In overintellectual patriarchal Western Culture, Curiosity is identified with intellect rather than Spirit.  Intellectual curiosity seeks answers.  Spiritual Curiosity is Awe and Wonder, the appreciation of the Mystery that does not have an answer.  With Spiritual Curiosity you don’t have Contradiction, you have Paradox.  As we age we collect Knowledge, confuse it with Wisdom, and lose touch with Awe and Wonder.  It’s not that we need to generate Curiosity; the World around us generates it constantly.  What we need to do, constantly, is reject our programming that Curiosity is the search for an Answer.  We sometimes refer to it as “Permanent Curiosity” to emphasize the difference.

The Quincunxes in this Box are Juno to Chiron and Jupiter to Uranus.  The Waning Juno-Chiron Cycle is about “In the sanctuary of an occult brotherhood, newly initiated members are being examined and their character tested” (12 Pisces, January 2014).  The Waning Quincunx is twelve Degrees shy of the Phitile, the Fruiting of the Cycle.  Twelve Degrees belongs to the Third Harmonic, Love with Wisdom.  The Waning Quincunx is a Gift for us to take beyond the Fruit, into fasting and hunger, like Gollum’s riddles.  The Waxing Jupiter-Uranus Cycle is “A woman just risen from the sea, embraced by a seal” (1 Aries, June 2010).  Uranus is also a Waning Decile from Sedna, deep in the Void.  Heavy-duty stuff.

Our Character has been Tested by the trials of the last several months and the last several years, and we have passed.  Everyone passes.  Everyone passes different parts of the Test, and everyone passes with a different “grade.”  The next Mystery to be revealed to us will depend on our “grade” and which parts of the Test we passed.  The next Mystery will be another Test, but it will also be a Gift.  This will be the last Mystery before we descend into the Void.  The Gift will be our Safety in the Void.  We can’t help but Wonder what it will be.  The Void is all about Wonder.  If we think we know what’s going on, we lose, because we drop back and repeat the previous Cycle while the World moves on without us. The Mythological Sedna was drowned by her own father in a fit of Fear.  She became the Seals.  Without the Seals, the Inuit lose their food and fuel.  It is important when hunting the Seal that Prayers go to Sedna, Prayers that the hunters, as they risk their Lives, be stronger than Fear.  Our Masks protect our Vulnerabilities, the places where we have been Shamed or threatened with Death or worse.  As our True Self pulls us away from our Masks we need the same Prayers, that we be stronger than our Fear.  We don’t Pray that our Masks endure, we Pray that we remain Safe while our Vulnerabilities are exposed, we Pray that our Ego be Transformed Lovingly and Gently, and that we can Let Go of our Resistance.  Then we Surrender to Curiosity about what will follow.

Curiosity happens under a Quincunx, we don’t have to promote it.  It happens whether we’re Conscious of it or not.  If we React to Unconscious Curiosity by indulging our Anxiety about the Future, we end up Consciously pursuing a path that’s unlikely to be the path that the Unconscious is taking.  When Consciousness competes with the Unconscious, Consciousness loses.  We’re far better off Wondering what the Unconscious has in mind for us, and Praying that our journey is Loving and Gentle.

Nodes, Squares, Interesting Movie Reviews

“I would like to add my tuppence ha’penny as a Libra North Node with Saturn squaring the Nodes – working with a partner who has Venus squaring their Nodes.  Firstly – I read in Patricia L Walsh’s book on past lives that she explained Jeff Green’s thinking which mystified me (his books on Pluto vol 1 and 2) – that the planet squaring the nodes means you are working both the mission and the past lives in this life – I interpret this as a dance – sometimes you need to bring forward the skills from the past, sometimes you need to concentrate on the mission.  

“For me, Jan Spiller says Libra NN is about being supportive and you wouldn’t believe how incredibly difficult is has been for me to get my head around that.  I have been independent and headstrong – and it has cost me relationships.  I don’t regret any of it, but I had to read her chapter on the Nodes several times to really take on board the flaws as well as the skills.  

“As for Uranus, when it crossed my south node 4 years ago it was very disruptive but I was tracking it and welcomed the changes which involved a new job and moving house.  If my maths is right, my vacancy is 2 cancer which is something about a magic carpet and a lovely balance to responsible Saturn – and may explain why I have never ever felt terribly responsible!”

In some parts of the World, “maths” really is singular.  In my take on the Mystery, we need both of our Nodes.  In order to accomplish our Mission, we need the Hidden Skills that are buried beneath the Held Emotions that the South Node signifies.  So in the “Hero’s Journey” we have to confront all of our worst Fears.  The Heroine’s Journey adds the need to confront Tradition.

It was four Degrees off, but Ceres (Sustainability) did T-Square yesterday’s Full Moon, while it Trine-Bridges the Nodes.  And have we noticed that the Nodes are T-Squared by the Pallas-Pholus-Hylonome-Quaoar Stellium?  That means that apart from the Crossbow we detailed earlier, the Full Moon was also characterized by a Nodal T-Square Trine-Bridged by Ceres.  When the same planet (here Ceres) is the Focus of one T-Square (the Full Moon) and Bridges a second T-Square (to the Nodes), this is a very important planet.

This is a Confidence-Builder crossing for the Initiation of the Pallas-Quaoar and Pallas-Pholus Cycles, but Hylonome Initiates Pallas tomorrow – another “coincidence,” eh?  The Initiations…

Squares, Nodes, Mission

A reader asks…

“I’ve been reading about the ‘problem’ of resolving squares to the Nodal Axis.  What would you feel a strategy might be to resolve my natal square from Uranus to my Nodes?  I’ve often been confused – or been given confusing information about – the nature and function of my North Node in Aries in the 4th House.  Some say its a Mission to become more of ‘I,’ with a strong identity.  Within the realm of the 4th, which is supposedly focused on home, hearth, family and tradition, it almost appears I have my nodal axis upside down, and the North Node SHOULD be in the 10th, and vice versa.  With North Node in the 4th, is my Mission to become, as Garrison Keillor put it, a bachelor Lutheran farmer in Lake Wobegone?  The word and process that I reckon I’m tripping over is ‘resolve.’  Resolve what, and how?”

There’s a fair amount of astrologuese in here, which would normally be indented in normal (non-italic non-bold) type.  But the astrologuese is pretty basic, and I explain it pretty well as I go, and this is a good example of how astrology is useful, and how it’s done.  So we’ll leave it in “general-reader” format (bold italic); skim any parts that bore or Confuse you – or Ask questions.

Squares as “Problems”

A “Square” is formed when two planets are three Signs apart.  Traditional Western Astrology regards a Square as, in so many words, a Curse.  Dane Rudhyar, one of our astrological mentors, regarded a Square as huperity’s Evolutionary Edge.  We consider a Square to be Mastery through Challenge.  There is one sense in which a Square is a Curse – Squares involve perpetual Frustration.  But we shift that by shifting our Attitude.  It’s our need for Perfection that is Frustrated, so if we Identify with Perfection (or even Satisfaction), then yes, Squares are no fun.  We could say that’s a Choice, but our own Identity is transparent to most of us most of the Time, so we have to bring it up into Consciousness before it becomes a Choice that the Ego makes – as opposed to a Choice that the Soul has made.  Clearly “Someone” Chose to be born into a Lifetime featuring a Square, so if we postulate some sort of Consciousness superior to the Lifetime, “Soul” is as good a term as any.

Squares to the Nodes

The planets and other sensitive points (such as the Nodes) in a Square involve Expectations.  In general, we’re likely to Feel a bit out of sorts when we’re Identifying with the South Node, because we’re likely to be engaged in Karmic Self-Sabotage of some sort, but likely to Feel pretty good about ourself when we’re Identifying with the North Node, since we can literally Feel the Future getting easier as we give ourselves permission to move closer to our Deepest Desires.  In the normal course of Life, this is a progression.  We’re Motivated by our crummy South-Node Experiences to find a lever to improve them, and we’re Motivated by our Deepest Desires simply because they dominate our Consciousness (whether we know it or not).  So all of us naturally Expect ourself to be moving, on average, with detours, away from Self-Sabotage and toward indulging our Deepest Desires.  A Square to the Nodes Frustrates that Expectation.

This is true of any Square.  For instance, a Square from Venus to Mars will Frustrate our Desire for a Satisfying Relationship.  A Square from Jupiter to Saturn will Frustrate our Desire for a Satisfying Social Life.  So, why would “we” (our “Soul”) Choose to live such Frustration?  Because “we” Chose to Study How to Create a Satisfying Life in regard to the nature of our Square, rather than Choosing to Enjoy a Satisfying Life in regard to the indicated arena of Life.  Once we realize that our Unconscious Objective is to Study the Process involved with our Square rather than to Enjoy it, Frustration dissolves, because when we’re Studying something, every “failure” provides more information to help us understand the Process.  No one ever “resolves” a Square; when we Master one level of our Study, we move on the next level of Subtlety.

Have you ever heard the axion “Those who can Do, Do; those who can’t, Teach”?  It’s often meant as an insult to Teachers, but it’s not that at all.  If you’re a Natural at something you can hardly Teach it, because it’s Unconscious for you – that’s what it means to be “a Natural.”  If you’ve struggled to Learn something and explored all of the blind alleys that lead only to perversions or subversions of your objective, you certainly don’t Feel like a Master – but you are!  And you have become the “Natural” to Teach it.  

There are two steps to appreciating your Squares: Honor the Mastery that’s hidden under your lifelong Frustration, and switch from Identifying with your Frustration about never “getting it right” to Identifying with your Mastery gained from Studying all the ways there are to “get it not quite right.”  So someone with a Square to their Nodes is someone who is, as Goethe put it, immer strebend, someone who können erlöst werden.

When the Zeitgeist is stable, the “Expert” is someone who knows all the right answers.  When the Zeitgeist is in flux (which it sort of is these days, just a little), the Expert is someone who’s Studied all the blind alleys – the folks with Squares.  

So someone with a Square to their Nodes has become a “Natural” at Teaching others how to Transcend their Karma.  I wouldn’t call it a “resolution,” I’d call it something more like an “accommodation,” or an “appreciation,” but there are two steps to such a “resolution” – Honor your Mastery, and switch your Identification from Frustration to Highly Motivated Student of the Subtleties.

Uranus

Now we get to Uranus as the Squaring planet.  The traditional Western astrological interpretation for Uranus is “Disruption,” because traditional Western astrology is oriented toward the Ego, the Material, and the Status Quo.  Uranus Disrupts that which is no longer in Alignment with the Soul’s Path in the Lifetime.  Uranus represents the Personal Unconscious, another concept that matches pretty well with the concept of “Soul.”  

So as we Honor our Mastery and Identify with our Student of the Subtleties, we need to be Mindful that Soul – Uranus – will be constantly bringing us up short whenever we start to Ego-Identify with any sort of Certainty.  In an undergrad course you get good grades for demonstrating your Certainty about some approximation to the “right” Answer.  In a graduate seminar you get good grades by raising new Questions to challenge the established Answers.  The Student of the Subtleties Teaches, but not because they know the Answers.  They Teach because they know what sort of Question will move someone to their next stage of Growth.  

If it’s already occurred, your Experience of when Uranus in the Sky crossed the place in your natal chart where the North Node sits, will Teach you a great deal.  Meditate yourself back into those Experiences.  If it hasn’t occurred yet, watch for it and Pay close Attention to the Experience.

The Fourth House

As the Zodiacal Sky is divided into twelve Signs, the Zodiacal Earth is divided into twelve Houses.  They correspond to one another, but while the Signs are about Energies, the Houses are about how Energies Manifest into hard copy.  The Fourth House, corresponding to Cancer or The Nurturing Mother, represents Security.  The Tenth House, corresponding to Capricorn or the Industrious Father (in the gender bias of Medieval Europe, where traditional Western astrology arose), represents Community.  The traditional meaning of the Tenth House is Career/Profession, but that’s a bias of the Industrial Revolution (which, recall, we’re leaving) and the introduction of Wage Slavery.  In Feudal Europe (most of us, except for our alternative efforts, are returning to a form of Feudalism, as the 1% hoard the planet’s Resources and enslave the rest of us; of course many have been there all along) before Industrialism, this was Community: the Cobbler made shoes for the Cooper, and Cooper made staves for the Brewer, and the Brewer made Kraut for the Cobbler’s kids.

The South Node in the Tenth House implies that you’ve brought into this Lifetime a good deal of Self-Sabotage around Community.  The Tenth and Fourth Houses are opposite sides of the same Coin; in traditional society Security depended very much on Community.  So the current Life is about Learning Security.  Chances are you grew up with little Security, so you may not be a “Natural” at it, based on your early Life Experiences.  However, the South Node is more than just Self-Sabotage.  It’s also Unconscious Skills.  You brought with you into this Lifetime a carpetbag full of Skills around Community.  Even as they remain Unconscious, if you look objectively at your Life, you can see how your Unconscious Skills with Community have kept you Alive and relatively Well.  

The South Node is also called the Dragon’s Tail.  Our Hidden South-Node Skills are symbolized by Smaug’s Treasure; Smaug is the Self-Sabotage that we need to “slay” (actually, befriend) in order to recover the Skills we developed in “Past Lives.”  We can also think of Smaug as the Veil that prevents us from reaching into the Zero Point Field (aka Akashic Records) to recover any Skill we need.  In modern biology, the direct connection between our Mitochondria and the ZPF is blocked by Held Emotions and/or stored Toxic Substances.  In the standard Hero’s Journey, we need to stand, in our fully Grounded Presence, face to face with our Greatest Fears, our “Past Deaths” so to speak, in order to overcome our Upper Limits or Self-Sabotage.

If my South Node were in the Tenth House, I’d sit in Meditation while evoking every Fear, or other Negative Energy, that I hold around Community.  Will my Community be there for me when I’m on the Edge of Survival?  Where do I Feel that in my Body?  Can I Embrace it Lovingly?  “You poor Sweetheart, you really feel Abandoned, don’t you.” – or whatever parallel Empathy is appropriate.  I’d stretch myself a little bit around Community; maybe go to a Meetup of some sort, and then afterwards Sit with all of the Feelings that arose before, during, and after.  We also may need to focus on Cleansing toxins out of the Body.  In our South Node we chronically underestimate ourself, as we Focus more on the Sabotage and seldom appreciate our Natural Skills.

You can also PIAVA Security; Imagine how it will Feel in your Body when you are completely Secure, and rehearse that Feeling frequently.  Work on your Discernment of Insecurity in any form.  Do you instantly recognize Anxiety as an Emotion when it arises, and Empathize/Embrace it on the Emotional level, or do you focus on the intellectual noise that Anxiety creates?  Security for you is a Choice.  Every day when you wake up, the first thing you want to do is PIAVA that you bring Insecurity fully into Consciousness.  You can’t Choose Security while Insecurity is Unconscious. 

Aries

Then there’s Aries.  South Node in Libra implies Self-Sabotage and Unconscious Skills around your relationship to Other.  If we are All One, who the Devil is Other?  If we’re each the Center of our own Universe, then Other is on the Periphery.  Go into Trance and have a look at how that is, objectively.  What’s the nature of the Attachment between you at the Center and Other at the Periphery?  Are you facing one another, or facing away from one another?  How far away?  Mutually Supportive, or adversarial?  Or ambivalent?  Are there Pitbulls between you, or Kittens?  Are you holding hands?  Arms crossed?  Akimbo?  What’s the Feeling?  Play with it, move the players around on the stage, add or remove props, till it Feels more comfortable and comforting.  Do that whenever you feel the need.

Aries is the “dumbbell” of the Zodiac, as it brings with it zero Experience on the Planet.  It’s driven by Spirit.  Ask Aries what it’s up to, and if you get an honest answer it’ll be “I don’t know.  It’s all an experiment.”  If it’s an Experienced Aries, “Ask me in five years” will follow.  Aries starts things,  It’s not in charge of finishing anything.  In retrospect, if Aries Trusted themselves and started what their Intuition told them to start, and didn’t let any Unbelievers (including their own Shoulds) talk them out of it, the Inventions of Aries will be remarkable.  But they’re of the Future, they make no sense in the context of the Present.  With North Node in Aries you’re flying blind.  Did you Trust your Instinct yesterday?  Then you’re on the right track.  There will be no confirmatory email.  It’s just Trust your Guidance.  That’s it.  Doesn’t matter whether it Feels right – that’s just Emotional noise.  There will be a very subtle nod of approval from the Soul when you follow your Guidance, but easily drowned out by the much louder Emotions.

North Node in Aries in the Fourth House: your Guidance is your Security.  If you try to steer using your Emotions, or second-guess your Guidance intellectually, or devolve into Certainty, go directly to jail, do not pass Go, do not collect $200.  Of course your Deepest Desires are your own, but once you work your way through the pretenders to that throne, you may find that your Deepest Desire of All is to Trust Your Guidance.  Not Faith in your “Self,” Faith in your Guidance.  If you Identify with your Guidance, you’ll resist Change.  You want to Witness your Guidance.  You get there by Discerning any Resistance to that and Loving it to death.  “You poor Sweetheart, Trust is Hard, isn’t it.”

SHOULDs

Of course our SHOULDs are mere intellectual noise.  Any semblance of Should must be recognized immediately as Captain Farrell, a diversion from the true path.  Ask who’s SHOULDing on you, see if you can develop a dialog with them.  If it’s you, how old are you?  What were you Feeling at that age – ie, what are they Feeling now as they’re SHOULDing you?  Empathize with them, see what their positive intentions for you are, and see if you can get them to Support what you Want by Supporting what they Want.  Make friends with them; once you negotiate Win-Win, they’ll be a strong part of your Guidance.

If it’s someone else, who?  What is it they want for you?  Even if their intentions are good, you need to Mirror them.  You don’t need them running your Life any more.

In this case, where you think the North Node SHOULD be up in Libra, in the outgoing section of the chart, you can probably blame your grade-school teachers.  Schoolteachers wouldn’t be teachers if they weren’t Extroverts.  Extroverts have no understanding whatsoever for Introverts.  They believe Introversion is a sickness, or a regressive gene that needs to be overcome, and they made that unequivocally clear to us when they had Power Over us.  When an Extrovert gets worn down, they recover their élan by being with Other People.  When an Introvert gets worn down, they recover with Solitude.  We’re all some of each, but usually one or the other dominates.  Which for you?  The Fourth House is deep inside us, some say deepest inside us.  You may need to Honor your Introvert here.

The North Node and our Mission

So no, no bachelor Lutheran farmer in Lake Wobegone for you.  Your children may be below average.  That would be constraining the Future, and Aries will rebel at the next crossroad, of which there will be many.  When Aries rebels, it will take you on a Heuristic detour.  Instead of moving forward in leaps and bounds, you’ll be tangled up in a remedial class in the briar patch.  If you Pay Attention to the lesson plan, you can get back to the High Road quickly.

When you’re tempted to follow your Emotions, or Believe your mental symphonies, and especially if you feel Certain about something, stop and Ask for Guidance.  Not Guidance for next week, Guidance for the next hour.  One step at a time.  That’s how Aries works.  So yes, a stronger “I,” but certainly not as in Certainty.  A stronger “I” as in constant and consistent Surrender of Control to your Guidance, constantly and Lovingly watchful for signs of Ego wanting to take credit for your many successes.  “You poor Sweetheart, you really wanted to take credit for that, didn’t you.”

How do we pick our way through the Maze?

Of course, your Nodal T-Square is only one element in your chart.  There are many others, and they all connect to one another.  For instance, what if dwarf planet Eris was near your North Node and dwarf planet Quaoar near your South Node?  Then Quaoar would Channel all manner of critical Survival Wisdom about Other and Community, while Eris would be constantly throwing Golden Apples (Revelation of what’s being Denied) into the ring.  So you’d have to Learn how to phrase your Golden Apples so as not to alienate their recipient.  Listen to a recording of one of Byron Katie’s sessions if you ever get the chance.  When she reads someone else, it sounds terribly Abusive.  But the person she’s reading is all smiles and nods, appreciating the Mirroring of their own Self-Abuse and the confirmation of their already Knowing how to escape into Self-Support.  It sounds Abusive to a third party, but if it’s an accurate Mirror for their own pain, it’s Comfort, not Abuse.

If your South Node is in early Libra, it was profoundly affected by the recent and ongoing dance there between Makemake, Juno, Lilith, and the North Node.  Your Nodes will Return to their original position every 19 or so years, and reverse their position halfway between.  With the North Node currently backing into Virgo (implying breakdown of the old Ego in preparation for Rebirth into Courage), it will have recently backed over your own South Node.  What was that like?  Your Soul’s Path in the Present Moment (North Node in the Sky) will appear to be the opposite of your Soul’s Path in the Lifetime (the South Node in your natal chart).  If you weren’t Conscious of this reversal, it could have been terribly Confusing.  If you were Conscious of the reversal, it would have been terribly instructive.  It could still be very instructive, in review.  If it was Confusing, fabulous; Sit Lovingly with your memories of that Confusion, it was the first stage of Growth.

Finally, it’s a T-Square, so there’s a potent Vacancy lurking Opposite your Uranus.  You have to Consciously supply the Energy of the Vacancy to complete the Grand Cross and bring the T-Square into Balance.  Add the Degree position of one of your Nodes to the Degree position of your Uranus, then divide by two.  Round up to the nearest full Degree (unless it’s x:00, in which case use Degree “x”) and look up the Sabian Symbol of that Degree.  That’s how you Consciously contribute to your own Progress in the Lifetime.  I think you’ll Enjoy that part.  Most of the rest of our natal chart has a Life of its own, whether we’re Witnessing it or not.  Our Vacancies are our opportunities to get involved with a lot of leverage.

Maker Moon

Tuesday’s Full Moon is unusual.  A Full Moon is a comment on the Zeitgeist of the following several weeks.  There’s little Grace, good Curiosity, and big Insights involved in this one.  Your doorway into Epiphany is your Instincts – Trust them.  Your password is Discouragement.  Pay close (and Loving) Attention to any Discouragement you encounter…  

“You poor Sweetheart, you think that’s impossible, don’t you.  I Wonder what it would take to make it possible.  What if it was such a subtle difference that we’d hardly notice the change”

would be a good icebreaker.

The Configuration looks so much like a Crossbow that I think we’ll call it that.

A Crossbow Configuration is a Finger of God pointing at the focus of a Mjolnir Kite.  I’d draw it out for you, but I’m technologically challenged at the moment, so I’ll have to describe it.

A Mjolnir Kite is formed when two planets make opposing Trioctile Bridges across an Opposition.  Said another way, a third planet at the far Midpoint of two planets that are Square forms a Mjolnir (Hammer of Thor in the vernacular), pointing at the third planet.  So the third planet is Trioctile to each end of the Square.  Mjolnir means Lightning, or Epiphany.  Add a fourth planet Opposite the third planet (at the near Midpoint of the two Square planets), and you have a Mjolnir Kite, shifting the focus to the fourth planet (the “top” of the kite).

Now, add two more planets, one Sign away from the third planet, on either side.  Since these will both be Quincunx to the fourth planet, they’ll form a Finger of God (meaning Pay Attention!) focused on the fourth planet.  No pressure, but the combination sure lights up the fourth planet!

The Full Moon is at the apex of the Finger of God and the Mjolnir Kite, hence the emphasis on Instinct.

We consider the Moon to have three levels of operation.  First it is you variable Emotions – the way you react with anger some times and don’t care other times, when confronted with the same phenomenon.  The second level is Instinct.  Even though the stimuli are superficially similar, you react with anger when behind the stimulus is an invisible threat to your Safety, and you don’t care when there is no threat.  I always use the example of someone cutting you off in traffic, because we know it so well; in the one case they’re cutting you off because they’re angry (and possibly armed), and in the other case because they’re legitimately in a hurry.  The third level is that Lunar Energy is the glue that keeps matter from flying apart into MC-squared Energy.

But that’s not why we refer to this Full Moon as a “Maker” Moon; that’s because, other than the Mjolnir Kite, the only other Angles formed by this Full Moon are Makemake and Saturn Quintile Bridges (together creating the Finger of God).

Makemake was the God who saved the Easter Islanders from starvation after their environment was degraded, teaching them tricks like planting Seeds in the lee of rocks, where Water would condense out of the fog.  Makemake’s “Discovery” chart reeks of Manifestation.  While the name is a “coincidence,” it came into Huper Awareness at about the same time as the Maker Movement began.  If you aren’t familiar with the Maker Movement, Bing the phrase plus the name of your town, or the nearest college town.  Everywhere in the US now there are shops set up, for sharing, usually for a small membership fee, that include 3-D printers, milling machines, other fabrication tools, and folks who know how to use them and are willing to share their knowledge, so you can combine $20 computer controllers with circuitry and machinery to Manifest your inventions into hard copy.

The Quintile Bridge adds the Wondering, as the nature of a Quintile is constant Surprise, as long as we don’t freeze the Action by pretending that our Question needs an Answer.

The other two planets in the Mjolnir are Chiron and dwarf planet Chaos.  

Chiron symbolizes Despair/Discouragement (the “Unhealable Healer”) changing to Miracles when Empathy (Neutrality and Presence) is applied to the Despair (“You poor Sweetheart, you’re really bummed, aren’t you.” – it’s not a question).  How?  By Empathizing with your own Discouragement, you are no longer Identified with Discouragement, you’re now Identified with Empathy.  This is the equivalent of Changing the Subject in PIAVA – it opens up space for new information to innoculate your “stuck” space, allowing what would have been seen from the Perspective of Discouragement as Miracles.  

Rather than Disorder, dwarf planet Chaos represents Unlimited Opportunity.  Chaos is what existed before the Greek Gods came into existence.  Of course they considered themselves, like all Gods, to be the First and Only Gods.  But actually, prior to the Greek Gods there were plenty of other Gods, including many apparently-Miraculous Pyramid-Makers, most of whom were Maternally oriented.  So if Unlimited Opportunity (the infinitely deep Zero Point Field) is a bit scary for you, you can think of Chaos as the constantly shifting evolutionary realm of Mother Nature.  I know, She frightens a lot of people, with her Snakes for hair and all.  In my neighborhood, where all the kids are on Ritalin, they allow only plastic shrubbery, so She doesn’t get unruly.  If She scares you a bit, remember that you are an integral part of Nature, and since according to General Relativity the Universe has no center except for Everywhere, you are the Center of your Universe.  You can Manifest whatever you Want.  If you Believe you can.  Go easy.  Expand your Want Universe by two or three percent at a time; double or nothing will often leave you with nothing.

So you can see, this is a pretty big deal.  That leaves Saturn, the other corner of the Finger of God.  Saturn means The Most Important Thing.  

So here at the Full Moon the basic message is that The Most Important Thing is Owning more of your Power as the Master Co-Creator that you actually are.  As Marianne says…

One other indication – the Venus-Mars Conjunction Opposes Chiron and completes a Chaos T-Square.  The Conjunction is not an Initiation; the Initiation occurred last February at 2 Aries, “What a joke, those Hupers.”  This is the Confidence-Builder phase of the triple Conjunction.

In order to avoid Overwhelm by the vastness of the Possibilities, we need to use All of our Skills.  It’s not enough to PIAVA and hope for the best, and it’s not enough to Plan and Execute.  We need to do both.  We PIAVA what we Want, Change the Subject, Pay Attention, and then Respond to the information we receive, either with a mores new PIAVA that accounts for the new information, or an Action based on the new information that moves us toward our Wants.  It won’t always work that way, but alternating PIAVA and Action will probably produce the best results here.  It’s a good opportunity to compare the scope of your PIAVAs and Actions.  If you’re PIAVAing the World but Acting only in your own back yard, or PIAVAing a small goal while Planning and Executing Globally, you may want to consider Rebalancing them.  If you’re new to PIAVA, see the “PIAVA” entry in the “Categories” list to the right.

I use astrology as a trigger for Intuition, rather than memorizing what other astrologers have found to be true for people.  Using what others have found to be true is more “scientific,” but also more reductionist.  As John Muir said, “When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe.”  People see what they Expect to see.  Also, the Planet is Changing fast; what was true for people ten or twenty years ago may no longer be true.

I focus almost exclusively on the Angles between planets (“aspects” in atrologuese), because they show how a person runs their Energy, but understanding the Signs and Houses is fundamental too, as background.  The Goodavage book describes specifics of planets in signs and houses; after you’ve read Rudhyar you can skim through that (and use it as a reference when your Intuition gets stuck) to verify that you understand how the Signs fit together.

My bottom-line rule is that the only reason you’d ever want to tell someone something negative about themselves, is when you’re trying to manipulate them.  Like many of the “healing arts,” many astrologers start from pathology – these are good things, these are bad things.  As you read, you need to filter out the Judgments of the authors.  Rather than trying to herd people into meeting someone’s Norms, educate them to their Skills.  If there is something in the chart that might trip them up, ask them if they’ve ever encountered a frustration of that nature, then tell them how to Transcend it.

You’ll need dedicated software, or one of the free internet services, to draw up charts.  Some of the “canned” reports on some of these can be revealing.  Its a pain to draw up a chart by hand, but it’s good to know how, because you’ll understand a lot more about the underlying concepts if you do learn that.

Learn as much as you can about your own chart first, but practice a lot on the charts of friends.  Don’t tell them what their chart says, ask them if what you think you see in their chart might apply to them, while being aware that they might not always provide a “correct” answer, because they may not be Aware, because they’re in hiding, or because you didn’t happen to phrase your question in terms that made sense to them.  You’ll need a multi-level understanding of how Hupers work, which you can gain in any number of ways.

While you were watching that, did you Feel Smaller than usual, or Bigger?  Was it Both/And?  In what ways did you Feel Smaller and in what ways Bigger?  Expanding is one of the esoteric processes that extend PIAVA.  Watch it again, full-screen, while you Imagine having What you Want.

Saturn means The Most Important Thing.  It tells us when we need to quit multi-tasking and focus intensely on Priority #1.  On 1/1/2000, Saturn danced with the Moon, Pallas, and Uranus, advising that The Most Important Thing during the 21st Century will be Trusting our Instincts and adjusting our Boundaries to make room for our True Soul Self to Manifest (our Yintegrity) without its Habitual Masks.  

Saturn Opposed the Moon and T-Squared Pallas and Uranus at 12am on 1/1/2000 – in the Western Hemisphere.  In the Eastern Hemisphere the Moon-Saturn Opposition forms a Grand Cross with the Nodal Axis instead of the Pallas-Uranus Opposition.  We’ll consider the implications of this fascinating dichotomy later.

Saturn Feels like Limitation because we’re usually scared to put all of our Attention on Life Priority #1, because if we fail at that, we’ll really be a failure.  So we put backup Priorities in place, to keep us Safe just in case Priority #1 doesn’t work out.  And often, we “hired” a Significant Other or two to actively discourage us from working on Priority #1 (in order to increase the likelihood that we’ll bring it fully into Consciousness), often with punishment, so we’re scared we’ll be punished or humiliated if we drop all of our other Priorities.  

“Most people view the past as a ‘learning experience.’  They think, ‘Something happened, so I learned to feel or act in a certain way.  But that was years ago.  I’m older and more mature and I know it’s not the right thing to be doing – so why won’t it go away?  There must be something wrong with me.’  The thing to keep in mind is that there may be something wrong, but it doesn’t have to define us.  It means that there are certain unprocessed memories that are physiologically stored in our brains that contain the emotions and physical sensations that were there at the time of the event [or ongoing chronic negative Experience].  Because these memories are unprocessed, they continue to generate negative thoughts and feelings whenever they’re triggered.  That’s why you may have heard or seen some very successful friends suddenly begin to talk and act like children when they get on the phone with a family member.”  –Francine Shapiro, Getting Past Your Past: Take Control of Your Life with Self-Help Techniques from EMDR Therapy, pp.70-71 (emphasis mine)

It “won’t go away” because our Soul’s Plan is that we need to bring it into Consciousness.  Without all of our Fallbacks, we Feel very Limited.  But sooner or later we have to Transcend our Resistance to our First Priority.  There are no actual failures in Real Life, just Learning.  So we may as well get on with The Important Stuff.

We interpret dwarf planet Sedna as Actions Taken out of Fear.  When we’re lucky, Actions Taken out of Fear may lead to Safety, but unintended consequences often arise because we’re Acting from our Karmic Self – Reacting, not Able to Respond from our Grounded Presence.  On 1/1/2000, Saturn was Merged with dwarf planet Sedna.  

When two planets are Conjunct, their influences are Merged.  

With Saturn and Sedna Merged, we won’t be able to differentiate between The Most Important Thing and Acting out of Fear.  Even when we Respond to The Most Important Thing, we’ll second-guess ourself because we’ll think we Acted out of Fear.  You can see the Climate-Change Deniers trying to manipulate the Economic agenda to their financial advantage by relentlessly pressing this button.  And when we Act out of Fear, we won’t be sure if we’re actually addressing The Most Important Thing.  Hence much of the Confusion or Hopelessness over what to do by the people who see the impending Planetary Collapse, and self-aggrandizement by those whose temporary success prevents them from seeing it.  Not to mention the Fear of the people who see it and are scrambling to accumulate as much ephemeral wealth as they can before the Crash, in hopes it will insulate them from it.

Sedna Initiated Saturn the previous summer, at 17 Taurus, “A symbolical battle between ‘swords’ and ‘torches.’ ”  “Swords” represents the mind – our Shoulds.  “Torches” symbolize Spirit, our Truth.  This Cycle runs until 2030.  Saturn-Sedna is Trined (Grace) by Sun-Juno, implying that Expanding Consciousness is Big.  Saturn-Sedna also Quincunxes (Permanent Curiosity) Chiron-Pluto (Flag-Eagle-Chanticleer), implying that if we manage to avoid preconceptions we will be continually Surprised by how Getting Conscious of our Fear complements Expanding our Identity to the Light Body.

This changes our interpretation of Saturn’s role in the 21st Century to The Most Important Thing is Getting Conscious of our Fear of Trusting our Instincts and our Fear of Living in Yintegrity.  A good time to review…

• Yintegrity means Doing what we Feel like Doing, moment to moment

In order to Live in Yintegrity while the rest of the World lives in Yangtegrity, we’ll probably have to minimize our Commitments, Renegotiate often, and when we can’t Renegotiate and the Relationship is important to us, Make Amends.

Remember that we Lose the Veil in the 21st Century – Neptune on the South Node.  Neptune means Confusion when we view the World through Material Eyes (which is fine when we remember that Confusion is the first stage of Growth), and Clarity when we view the World through Spiritual Eyes.  The South Node represents our Old Habits.  The Veil “protects” us from understanding that it’s Spirit and Consciousness that are Real, not the Material World.  The Veil was useful while the experiment in Flesh was tentative and unstable, so Materiality wouldn’t disintegrate when we sneezed.  We’ve grown some now, and we can not only maintain stable Materiality while Being Spirit-Consciousness, but play with Materiality like Leggos.  Or at least, that’s where we should be after the Transformations and Trance Reformations of the 21st Century.

Our day-to-day Identity is more or less determined by the position of our Venus.  Folks with Venus in a Fire Sign (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) will lead this Transformation, because they have the least distance to travel to Identify with the Light Body.  Venus represents our Unconscious Values.  Moving to “I am the Light Body”  from “I am my Body” (Venus in Earth, Taurus or Virgo or Capricorn) or “I am my Emotions” (Venus in Water: Pisces, Scorpio, Cancer) or “I am my Thoughts” (Venus in Air, Aquarius or Libra or Gemini) will be more difficult, but the first step is becoming Conscious of Who you routinely Believe Yourself to Be.  If you ever catch yourself saying “I’m not one of those people who…” and examine it, you can learn a lot.  In the Lifetime, our basic sense of Identity doesn’t change.  But we can Learn alternate Identities as if in Theatre, diversifying our repertoire.

For many of us, Venus will Progress through three of the four Elements (Fire, Earth, Air, Water), four if we live long enough.  As Progressed Venus moves into a new Element, Identifying with that Element becomes much easier.  Your Sense of Self will be influenced not only by the Element your Venus is in, but also the Modality, Sign and House placement, Degree, and its Angular Relationship to other planets. 

Not sure we’ve ever mentioned a Progression.  Advancing a chart by one day suggests the Life circumstances at age 1, 2 days at age 2, 40 days at age 40, etc.  Since Venus moves on average one Sign a month, by age 30 (if not sooner) your Progressed Venus will be in the next Sign and therefore the next Element. 

Fire-Spirit, Earth-Matter, Air-Mentality, and Water-Emotion are the four Elements; Cardinal-Creative, Fixed-Stabilizing, and Mutable-Changing, are the three Modalities.  Four Elements times three Modalities gives you the twelve Signs, each of which features a unique combination of Element and Modality.  Elements and Modalities are critical in understanding the nature of the Signs.  Fire and Air Signs have Dynamic Polarity, while Earth and Water Signs have Magnetic Polarity.

We spoke earlier about Venus and Vesta, which are Merged in the 1/1/2000 chart.  Vesta represents our bottom-line Unconscious Beliefs, Beliefs we’re willing to Die or Kill for.  These are not fixed.  To a large extent they are Karmic – based on old Habits – so they can change, but first we must become Conscious of what they are.  Unless we were born when Venus and Vesta were Merged, the dissonance between the Century’s Merged Venus-Vesta and our own distinct Values and Unconscious Beliefs, will help bring contrary Beliefs into Consciousness because we’re drawn to the Merger.  If we were born with Venus and Vesta Merged, then the Century’s Merger will exaggerate our Identification, which again will help bring it into Consciousness, but in a very different way.

If we were born with Venus Conjunct Vesta, we won’t be able to distinguish our Values from our Unconscious Beliefs.  Like most astrological influences, this is good and bad – good in the sense that your Life will probably include less Self-Sabotage, bad in the sense that you could be “too” sure of yourself on the Ego-Material level, and reject other valid Perspectives that could potentially advance your Consciousness.  Since Venus moves four times faster than Vesta, they will eventually Progress apart.

We aver that in the 21st Century The Most Important Thing is Getting Conscious of our Fear of Trusting our Instincts and our Fear of Living in Yintegrity, but it’s obvious that many people are living this on a whole different level, the level where The Most Important Thing is Rescuing Ourself from Fear or The Most Important Thing is Milking the Fear of the Masses for Our Own Gain.  The “War on Terror” is a bellows to accelerate these conflagrations for personal gain.  The Medical-Pharmaceutical-Insurance Cartel is a Master at milking the Once-Born’s Fear of Death.  

It’s often said that Evil feeds on Fear, but I think it’s More Important to see the Light feeding on Fear.  We came here to Absorb and Transform the pandemic of excess Negative Emotion, to help prevent it from spreading to other parts of the Galaxy.  We do that by Being Present with Fear – ours and that of Others – and grounding it.  We do that most effectively by Identifying with the Light Body.  The Light Body does not Fear Darkness because it knows it to be only a Shadow that the Chanticleer will dissolve.  The Light Body does not Fear Death because it knows it to be a misinterpretation of Material Transformation.  The Light Body, like Winnie, does not Fear Fear itself because it knows that Fear is just an artifact of the Emotional Body becoming Ungrounded.

The dwarf planet Ceres, the only dwarf planet between Mars and Jupiter, represents Sustainability – Ceres as in Cereal, Grain, Sustenance.  All ’round the Globe, Ceres was Rising as the clock was striking midnight on 1/1/2000.  “Rising” means “coming into Awareness” or “worn on the sleeve.”  The dwarf planet Haumea is a “Plutoid,” hanging out with Pluto in the Reaches.  Pele’s daughter, Haumea is a Fertility Goddess.  We usually interpret the dwarf planet Haumea as Rebirth.  While we’ve always held that Sustainability and its proactive complement Sustenance (eliminating the unnecessary) will be a major theme during the 21st Century, the presence of Haumea multiplies this interpretation exponentially, augurs optimism, and promises a whole new ballgame ahead of us.

Haumea Initiated Ceres on 19 January 2000 at 8 Libra, “A blazing fireplace in a deserted home.”  Rudhyar interprets that to indicate that Spirit is always ready to welcome us Home.  Of course the symbol brings to mind many metaphors for the behavior of Western European Culture, which is easily seen as tearing the singles off the roof in late Fall to heat the house. 

Ceres-Haumea-Ascendant makes a Trine Bridge across the Nodal Axis in the 1/1/2000 chart, and Venus-Vesta (Aligning Values and Unconscious Beliefs) makes another, forming a Double Bridge of three Sextiles across the Nodes – extremely fortuitous.  Venus-Vesta are joined by dwarf planets Ixion (our Pathological Genius) and Quaoar (Laws the Promote Survival).  The Initiations:

• Vesta-Venus (Aligning Values and Beliefs, 10 Sagittarius, “A tropical representation of a golden-haired Goddess of Opportunity“)
• Ixion-Venus (Embracing our Pathological Genius , 5 Sagittarius, “An old Owl sits alone on the branch of a large Tree“)
• Ixion-Vesta (Pathological Unconscious Beliefs, also 5 Sagittarius)
• Quaoar-Venus (Discipline of Walking in Beauty, 8 Sagittarius, “Within the depths of the Earth new elements are being formed“)
• Quaoar-Vesta (Beliefs that we’ll Die if certain criteria aren’t met, also 8 Sagittarius)

The Venus Cycles span about a year, the Vesta Cycles about four years, but here at the Birth of the Century, they all apply for a hundred years.

We’re Blessed with a “Golden Opportunity” to Align our Unconscious Beliefs with our Values in this Century.  That’ll be very hard to do without bringing our Beliefs into Consciousness, where they can be reviewed for consistency with the edicts of our Heart.  We see loads of wannabe Politicians trying to align their spoken Values with their Unconscious Prejudices, with laughable results.  It only works that way among the small number of peers who share your Prejudice, unless a Master Hater can persuade everyone to accept the same scapegoat.  History is full of those, but modern Communications, if they aren’t captured by the Power Class, may ameliorate this.  Hate may work in a country like the US, where the medium of propaganda is owned by Money and where the tyranny of the majority is baked into the Political system, but not for long; Money is too smart to cut off potential customers.  This may be why the Corporations are forming their own supranational governments (WTO, NAFTA, TPP, et al.), to bypass civil government strategies that have been shattered by modern Communication and the way they permit Extremists to find one another easily.

Part of Aligning our Unconscious Beliefs with our Heart requires that we get in touch with and honor the portion of our Pathological Genius which derives from our Spiritual Mission, and differentiate it from the portion that derives from our Wounds.  Both portions supersede civil and military rules, one supporting Progress and the other Depravity.  We’re likely to encounter a lot of both as each of us wrestles with these malevolent Demons, benevolent Daemons, and shining Diamonds, and we try to pry them away from the Archetypes that have captured them.  There may be four corps of people who Support, Obfuscate, or flee from these processes; people who Identify with superficially positive goals but care more about process than result (Zealots of various stripes), folks who Identify with Fear and refuse to allow alternatives to their Beliefs (such as the Medical Cartel), people who are Motivated by Fear to try to be Invisible (many of whom have become refugees from Conflict or Poverty), people who try to stand up and Speak Truth (many of whom will get shot).

Ixion and Quaoar have very similar orbits, and while Ixion is only three and a quarter degrees short of Quaoar on 1/1/2000, it takes until 2037 for Ixion to catch up to Quaoar.  So we have to simply consider their Relationship (the Laws within which our Pathological Genius must operate) to be In the Void.  It appears that Ixion has been Balsamic to Quaoar since at least as far back as the Swiss Ephemeris tracks them.  Which means that…

There are no Limits or Rules that our Pathological Genius must follow, nor anyone else’s Pathological Genius.  In a couple of decades may find that our cage indeed has bars, but right now it’s the “Wild West” as far as Creativity goes.  We could even attribute the endemic and ridiculous Terror of Death to this relationship, as a Reaction to the “fact” that, Unconsciously, we see no reason why we can’t Live forever.  Which of course is what our Consciousness does; it’s just that most Hupers Identify with their Body (or Job or Wealth or …) rather than with their Timeless Spirit.  Maybe we’ll figure that out by 2037.

These two Trine Bridges, Ceres-Haumea-Ascendant and Venus-Vesta-Ixion-Quaoar, Bridge and ameliorate not only the Nodal Axis, but also the T-Square formed by Centaur and dwarf planet Pholus (Taking Full Responsibility), which Squares the Nodes.

The Challenge to Earth and Hupers in the 21st Century is to Take Full Responsibility for the Past and Future.  That means being Willing to Heal our Wounds from the Past, and being Willing to Respond to the Challenges presented by the Future.  This is not a question of Ability, that’s clearly there.  It’s purely a question of Willingness, a question of whether Humanity is Willing to Let Go of Individual gain for the sake of Collective Survival.  The growing Awareness that Sustainability is not optional, and the Examination of disparities between our Values and our Unconscious Beliefs, are both tools to make that course easier.
