Friday the 13th II

I keep forgetting that I bought the wrong astrocalendar this year, and it has times for another zone.  So the Full Moon occurs at a few minutes after 9pm PDT, not just after midnight as we said earlier.  It’s 9:11 to be exact, but we don’t need to go into the possible symbolism of that; we can

Cancel, Neutralize, Upgrade

instead – Cancel the Negative Thought, Neutralize the vibes emanating from it, and Upgrade the thinking apparatus.  That’s a very handy algorithm; I use it frequently and recommend it highly.

Fortunately, we strive to do interpretation rather than prediction, because interpretation doesn’t have to be done before the fact – in fact it’s often better after the fact.  Which is to say, I’m just sitting down to write in detail about the Full Moon, so I may not have it all done before the event transpires.  I’ll publish in chunks, so you won’t have to wait on the edge of your seat.  Turns out there are four significant complexes in the Full Moon, each of which deserves discussion.

We spoke briefly earlier about the Yin Gate, which is probably the most profound part of it.  We bottom-lined it as…

The Core Issue is the Mysterious Relationship between our Soul’s Path and our Personal Mythology.  And the way that Mystery is Changing, as our Personal Mythology changes, and as our Soul’s Path evolves and adapts to the Choices our Ego makes.”

But there are more details to share.

And in the same post we introduced the dwarf planet Makemake, who by itself, from its discovery chart, seems to…

Preside over a significant project to hold our nose to the fire of Emotions that would otherwise prevent us from being constantly Attentive to the Edges of our Consciousness.  While Denial is no longer an option, once we recognize what’s happening and embrace it, it will be delightfully easy.”

But it turns out that Makemake’s role in the Full Moon is a lot more complicated, and the Configuration it makes focuses strongly on Juno, the very asteroid that symbolizes the Edge of our Consciousness.  More to be said there too.

The third Big Deal in the Full Moon chart is four fifths of a Grand Quintile.  That’s not really a Grand Quintile (aka a huge Learning Opportunity), but it puts a Big emphasis on what would be the fifth planet, if it were.  That no-show is the Cusp of Leo, which is the point in the Zodiac where, having realized that we’ve been sacrificing ourselves too much to care for (or control – other side of the coin) others, we vow to start looking after our own Spiritual health and Yintegrity more.  Again, much more to say.

And finally we get to the Full Moon itself, which sits in a Tricolor with Jupiter and Eris.  You could pretty accurately describe a Jupiter-Eris Square as “foot in mouth disease.”  Put that together with the other three Biggies, and it sounds like we’re up for a possibly life-changing adventure.  Throw in a normal dose of Resistance, and we could easily discover a fairly serious Ego Death as well.  How you experience an Ego Death depends on “Who” you’re being at the moment.  To the extent that “you” are your Ego, yes, it definitely can feel like you’re dying.  To the extent that you’re hovering a little above it, you can watch the changing of the guard – without having to go to London to do it.

I have to laugh – while I excused myself to go write about these four unfoldments I was planning to refer you to Kelley Hunter’s always-excellent take on the Full Moon, so before I did I figured I better read it myself – and though of course she’s using different words, and even approaching the astrology of it all through a different lens, she’s saying the same thing I am!  So while I write, here she is.  I’ll be back shortly.
