Between last April (Tahrir Square) and last August (London burning), Neptune dipped into Pisces, but then retreated back into Aquarius. Between Arab Spring and Western Fall, that could be a pretty good indication of what it may be like once Neppy dives into Pisces “for good” (till 2025 anyway). That happens February 3, three weeks hence. It’s a great time to review Neptune, and for that matter Pisces.
When I stumble onto a simple notion that covers most opportunities, I tend to stop looking for more subtle or complex approaches – why clutter up the mind when it’s not necessary. Which is actually what the Scienterrific Method asks us to do – use the simplest perspective that has the predictive value we need. It’s part of Both/And – different worldviews provide different predictive values in different circumstances. That’s why folks still talk about “Atoms” and the “Big Bang” and “Time” and “Cause and Effect” and “Extraterrestrials” and “War” long after the concepts been shown to be woefully inadequate to describe what’s going on.
When it comes to Neptune, simplicity is most appropriate. Neptune symbolizes our relationship with everything that is bigger than ourself, including most particularly our relationship with “God,” or whatever/whomever you believe has the Power. As a major player in the Unconscious, Neptune does not symbolize “God,” it symbolizes our relationship with “God.” Hard for the materialistic left brain to grasp, effortless for the spiritual right brain.
When Neptune is lit up, and you’re looking at the World through Material eyes (that is, you’re believing Matter is Real), you look through a thick fog. Confusion is the keyword. But when Neptune is lit up and you look at the World through Spiritual eyes (that is, you believe Energy is Real), then what you see is Clarity. Energy never stops moving; Energy is relationship, and relationship is in constant transformation. If you’ve never studied the iChing, now’s the time to do it! You’ll see in a few minutes why the Chinese are running circles around a Western Civilization that’s been stuck in the left brain for centuries.
Neptune’s been lit up for several years, as it’s been dancing with Chiron, forming our New-Paradigm Despair-into-Miracle duo. And it’ll be lit up more soon, as it peels off its Aquarian disguise and puts its Pisces robes back on. Neptune’s been in Aqua since 1998-99. What’s that period been like, from the perspective of Social Organization, which is Aqua’s bailiwick? Well, in the USofA we had the recall of Glass-Steagall by Clinton and Summers, we had Bush Junior, the Patriot Act, the Iraq and Afghan Wars, the Financial Collapse of 2008, the Tea Party, the outing of the Banksters – it’s actually been quite remarkable how much fog and confusion has surrounded the Fall of the Empire. So much that no one has emerged with any clear idea of what’s happening, who also has any kind of popular following.
What about the other side, the Clarity? Well, the Corporate Media has been so careful not to notice, but I’d say there have been about 97 Monkeys lining up to wash their bananas. The list in the previous paragraph reads like the classic blowoff at the end of a Bull Market, in this case a bull market in Greed. The conventional wisdom is that a Bull Market (or Bear Market) can go on longer than anyone could have imagined, but that doesn’t detract from the recognition that we’re at the top. In Confusion-space the Dollar and the Empire are falling; in Clarity-space we are in the middle of a huge Transformation, and the appropriate posture for us is to stay grounded, stay in the Heart, and PIAVA (Pray, Intend, Assert, Visualize, Ask For) what we want, in Energy terms. That is, don’t PIAVA $50,000 a year, PIAVA Peace of Mind and a Sense of Abundance, and let the Transformation supply the details – which it will do, with or without your cooperation. You are one Co-Creator of many, and you may not be in charge of all of the specifics.
One of the clearest notions I’ve heard recently, attributed to David Spangler, is that the Occupy Movement is basically a practice bed for entirely new ways to organize ourselves in groups. The Human Microphone (which I hear is being used to ask Clarifying questions at campaign rallies), Consensus, and Mutual Caring, for example. Personally, I don’t have any doubt that we’re close to a game-changer, simply because of our place in the Uranus-Pluto and Chiron-Neptune Cycles, which we’ve been writing about at length, not to mention the Dawning of the Age of The Dude with the Jug. Neptune’s partner-in-paradigm Chiron has been firmly rooted in Pisces since last February. Chiron is the master of paradigm transformation, since as the Wounded Healer he embodies the Despair brought about when trying to address post-transformation issues using pre-transformation thinking, and he also embodies the Miracles that changing the paradigm will create. I’m always reminded of the old Xerox ad of a Monk in his brown robes standing next to a Xerox machine with his colored inks and pens in one hand and a thick stack of xerocopies in the other, saying “It’s a Miracle!”
Neptune was last in Pisces during 1846-1861, the decade leading up to the American War Over Legal Slavery. Some features of that span: the Irish Potato Famine; the Mormons leaving Illinois; Moby Dick, Leaves of Grass, the Communist Manifesto, and David Copperfield were written; the US rather ungraciously took California and Texas from Mexico; the Colt Revolver, the postage stamp, the telegraph, Pinkertons, the Republican Party, the AMA were all created; Edison, Bell, Tesla, Freud, Bayer, van Gogh, Pulitzer, Rimbaud, Pat Garrett, Jesse James were all born; white folk landed at Alki Point; in China a group of Christians tried to take over the country, very bloody; in Europe the demise of the Ottoman Empire led to the Crimean War and its bloody Charge of the Light Brigade; and 1848 was called the “Spring of Nations” as practically every country in Europe and Latin American had a revolution, most of which were short-lived but produced Change quickly.
So we know the second dozen years of this century won’t be boring. Now we were just talking about Virgo and Mars Outabounds and how Virgo and Pisces are Opposites and the Same Thing all at once. Besides being stuck in the left brain, European Civilization has also been stuck in the Ego, bigtime. Other parts of the World, where the genocides against the aboriginal civilizations have been less effective, are also joining China in running ahead of the falling West, because not relying on brute force and hard steel and gunpowder and psychopathic lack of empathy, those civilizations have also retained the relationship with Relationships that survival requires. The Virgo-Pisces axis is about Endings. Not even about Beginnings, just Endings.
So we need to focus on the Transformation, and allow ourselves and our civilizations to fall headlong into the Void, like Galdalf falling to the Balrog. In fact, exactly like Gandalf falling to the Balrog. Considering the scale of the Transformation – Universal, according to the Mayans – massive Grief is inevitable, and Grief sets its own timetable. Resistance to Grief only makes it worse and prolongs it. Mosta the folks I know are outraged by the antics of the Banksters and their fascist government minions. We’d probably be better off to just grieve the loss of what we used to perceive as Freedom and Abundance. Anyone whose ancestors or elders left Germany in the 1930s or Russia in the 1910s will tell us that Denial don’t cut it. But we need to no longer give our strength to that which we wish to be free from, as Jewel puts it. Honest Grief may be our fastest exit from that Karma, especially if we tap it out.
According to polls (which of course can be manipulated easily so need to be taken with a grain), only one American in six believes that the US Congress is functioning – versus one in two who believe that Obomba is doing his job. That could easily set the stage for a big game change, since Uranus and Pluto do their thing several months prior to the election. While Neptune in Pisces assures that the Transformation will take a dozen years – and Neptune in Aries will be a slow, bewildering restart, as Aries never has any idea what it’s doing, it’s just following directions from its Guides. So we can expect it to be nigh on 2040 before we again see Clarity on the Material plane. By then, Chiron will be Quintiling Neptune, which should give us a pretty clear picture of how this Fresh-Violets-in-an-Ancient-Pottery-Bowl New Paradigm is manifesting.
The Quintile is a teacher. Uranus Quintiled Pluto in 2002-2005, by the way, which would have given us some strong hints about what we’ll be encountering during the imminent 2012-2015 Square. In those days, George II was hiring herds of recently-unemployed thugs from the KGB to create his masterpiece Department of Homeland Security. So you could say that 1984 finally arrives in 2012-2016, as Das Vaterland arrives full-featured in the USSA. Or you could say that the Empire crumbles, because that’s why all those KGB goons were unemployed! It was just a different Empire that crumbled then.
Another feature of 2040, while we’re on the subject, is the Waxing Square of Uranus to Neptune. Uranus-Neptune is the sleeper in this drama, as a new 170-year Uranus-Neptune Cycle began in 1993. It’s anthem is A hidden Choir sings during a religious service – I would interpret that to mean that Spirit becomes available, if we but look behind the Material facade. Think China – the average WalMart shopper has no inkling of the YinYang or the Tao, and sees only the Material face of early-21st-Century China, which is simply in the same phase that the Japanese were in, in the 1950s, making cheap toys for the Haolis. There was no question then that what was good for General Motors was good for the USSA. A quarter-century later, once they figured out that Puce didn’t sell well in the US, Toyota was eating GM’s lunch. Ten years after that, Japan was eating America’s lunch, and buying her best golf courses and penthouses to eat it on.
In late June, when the Uranus-Pluto Square completes, Uranus will be half a Quintile ahead of Neptune, and if we listen close, we should be able to hear the Choir pretty well. It will be a busy few days, as Jupiter-Neptune hits its own Waxing Square (Pilgrims climb the steep stairs leading to a Mountain Shrine), and Saturn stands still, turning Direct (A Rooster heralds the Sunrise) in its passage through Libra (focus on Community), all at the same time. It should be quite a Ceremony.
So all in all, we certainly have our work cut out for us. We can certainly Get Happy, but I would hope we do it with Heart, because many will be suffering around us. It’s kinda oxymoronic to suppose that we’re going to Ascend into Pure Love on Earth 2 while ignoring the suffering of all the others descending into Pure Hell on Earth 1. Neptune in Pisces will be stretching our Heartstrings very tight, and there won’t be a lot to separate us from the pain of the Bruegalities on Earth 1. On the other hand, Pallas (Boundaries) will be conjoining Uranus. The motto of the 5-year Pallas-Uranus Cycle (Let my People Go!) that spans the entire Uranus-Pluto event will be A Crystal Gazer – mirroring the Ouija Board anthem of the Uranus-Pluto Cycle. I have to interpret all that as We Are Creating Our Own Reality – where of course “We” is our Soul-Unconscious, not at all our Egoic self.
In other words, we each peer into our own Oracles, and obey the instructions we receive there, as best we can. If we re-lease our Karma – sign a new lease with it – as it arises in the Oracle, it’s Earth 1 for us. If we release our Karma as it arises – Let it Go – and recognize it for the zauberisches shadow-puppet theatre that it is, it’s Earth 2. Maybe. That view does jibe with Karma as Inertia, and with the principles of Attention and Intention. If it doesn’t work that way, we’ll just have to Get Odd, Not Even, and create our own Theater of the Absurd on the Streets. We’ve done it before, when the Planet needed a huge dose of Heyoka, we can do it again. Even if it’s too hard to Get Happy, we can at least Have Fun and fake it till we make it, eh? Sooner or later, we have to find the sharp edges between Sympathy, Empathy, and Compassion.
Citrine, a pure Quartz Crystal colored by Iron impurities, eats Anger and spits it out as fresh Compost, ready to be fed to the Vegetables. I have friends who have lived for the last several years on a beach of pure Citrine Sand. And after their adventures there, they’re washed clean, and ready to return to the World of Care as Healers. Natural Citrine is a pale Yellow, and bright Orange Citrine such as this one are usually created by heating Amethyst. Some folks consider that to be sacrilege, but Crystals are created by the Balrogs in the Crucible of Fire with the Planet anyway, so what does it matter. Sure, we coulda woulda shoulda used a Watery Blue Mineral for Neptune in Pisces, like a gorgeous Boulder Opal…
…but you know what the Buddhists say, Into the Water, out in the Fire; into the Fire, out into the Water – you know how it is in the Unconscious about equals and opposites. Gotta practice up on that, don’t we.
